  1. Thanks for linking those graphs, I was not aware on the issue with the E-cores. Although I would probably also wait with the upgrade to see how the upcoming intel 14th gen compares to the 7800x3d both in price and performance. Maybe I was not really clear with my question. My main concern is, if upgrading the CPU and keeping the RTX2080 would have any positive affect at all or if I would just get 10 more frames and run into the next bottleneck.
  2. Hi, my current setup consists of the following: i9 9900kf @ all core 5GHz 16GB DDR4-3200 CL14 RTX 2080 Super I am trying to get >300 fps in CS2 using low-medium settings. With my current setup I am getting around 200 which dips below 150 on some occasions playing on 1920×1200. As changing the resolution does not seem to affect the fps whatsoever I am suspecting a CPU bottleneck. If possible I would like to keep using the RTX2080 for a little while longer, so I was wondering if upgrading to a 13700k or a 7800x3d would get me the desired results. All the benchmarks I have looked at either only test higher resolutions or don't include the RTX2080. Maybe anyone here plays cs2 using a RTX2080 in combination with a modern processor and could tell me if only upgrading the CPU makes sense? Thanks!
  3. Hi, does anyone know if I will be able to fit this r9 280x http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/3072MB-Gigabyte-Radeon-R9-280X-Windforce-3x-OC-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail_936841.html into this case http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/CoolerMaster-Elite-370-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-schwarz_675389.html? Thanks in advance for all answers
  4. I think I'm going to buy these Components: Koolance CPU-380I Block - http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p15004_Koolance-CPU-380I-Water-Block--Intel-.html Alphacool VPP655 - T12 - http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p10705_Alphacool-VPP655---T12--1-2--Schlauchanschluss-.html Phobya Balancer 150 Gold Plated (dont know if the Gold plating is good or bad, i just like the look) - http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p9255_Phobya-Balancer-150-Gold-plated.html Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 360mm - http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p12340_Alphacool-NexXxoS-XT45-Full-Copper-360mm.html Swiftech 16/10 (5/8" x 3/8") Fittings Lok-Seal G1/4 - Chrome - http://www.aquatuning.de/product_info.php/info/p14157_Swiftech-16-10--5-8--x-3-8---Anschraubt-lle-Lok-Seal-G1-4---Chrome.html Primochill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8" ID - 5/8" OD (10-16mm) Tubing 3 Meter Retail Pack : Bloodshed Red - http://www.amazon.de/Primochill-PrimoFlex-Advanced-LRT-Bloodshed/dp/B00EURGBY8/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385918820&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=PrimoFlex+Advanced+LRT+3%2F8in.+x+5%2F8in.+Tubing I got a lot of input from you about a DCC pump vs a D5 pump, but im willing to pay additional 20 euros, since im planning to maybe add an additional radiator/gpu block in the future. I only have three questions left: Do these fittings fit onto my blocks and tubing? Do you recommend the Corsair SP 120 fans or the Corsair SP 120 Quiet Edition fans? - I can regulate the fans pretty well with the help of fanXpert 2 which comes with my motherboard so im not sure about that. I now know that I should use some kind biocide/anti-corrosive concentrate, but is there and concentrate out there that is alredy premixed so I can just put it in my loop and I'm fine?
  5. Well I'm a bit confused right now, since I saw linus mixing up copper rads with nickel plated blocks on his overkill guide and on his personal rig.
  6. So what kind of radiator/CPU Block do you recommend?
  7. So I cant use this RAD(which is copper) with these blocks(which are nickel-plated)? Would it make sense to do a CPU only loop for the beginning and when I'm picking myself up a new GPU in maybe half a year add it to the loop together with an additional RAD?
  8. Hi, I want to set up a custom loop for my rig, because right now my PC sounds like a HUGE hairdryer. The problem is: I have no idea what to buy and I have never done a watercooling loop before. After reading some stuff about it, I now think I can set it up on myself correctly, but I still have no idea which components to buy. My current Rig is: Core i7 4770k Gtx 680 (Reference Design) Maximus VI Hero Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM (2x8GB) Corsair 750D I was thinking about these Components(I took them out of the linus Overkill build guide): Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 360mm Koolance CPU-380I Water Block (Intel Processor) Koolance VID-NX680 Water Block (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Video Card) Primochill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8" ID - 5/8" OD (10-16mm) Tubing 3 Meter Retail Pack : Bloodshed Red 0) Should I only do a CPU loop or should I also include my GPU? 1) What kind of fittings should I use? Which pump and which reservoir should I pick up? 2) Are there cheaper versions of CPU and GPU blocks? - Since it was an Overkill build guide I presume there are some cheaper options that will still do well? 3) Can I use destilled water only or do I have to add some kind of agent? 4) Is this radiator enough to cool a CPU( and a GPU)? - It's going to be positioned at the top of the case and air will be exhausted through it. 5) Will three meter of tubing be sufficient for this loop? Thanks is advance! (I'm sorry about my bad english. I'm german and I'm still learning.)
  9. Alright thank for the help!, Linustechtips.com is beast The last one is it then
  10. Will a 550W PSU provide enough power when im overclocking the CPU to maybe 3,9GHz-4,2GHz? I found this one http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/630-Watt-Thermaltake-Smart-Non-Modular-80-_779351.html which is basically cheaper and has more power. Also I just read a earlier post I did not notice and he recommended the ASRock 990FX Extreme3. It would only cost about 2 euros more and would have a 990FX Chipset. Also I decided to go with a cheaper case to get into the 650euro zone again.
  11. Thank you for telling me that quote thing, didnt know that one. I just updated the build. Now it features the Asus M5A97 instead of the MSI 970A-G43 and a FX - 8320 instead of the FX - 6350. In my oppinion the 30 euros more are worth the 2 more cores and the better mobo. - Do you agree(performance wise)? After I have read the comments I dont think it neccessary to go from a 7970 to a r9 280x which would cost additional 30-50 euro, since they are basically the same and I really want to stick to that 650 euro target as close a possibile. https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=EF1D957B7B280E32!918&authkey=!AHVL_Ot_hpIIeg4&ithint=file%2c.xlsx (same link as in my first comment, just wanted to repost it so you dont have to scroll up and search it ) Edit: Can the 600W Corsair CX PSU deal with these components? Will he run into some problems when he tries to OC the FX-8320 because of the PSU?
  12. Its mainly for gaming. Some Office and some selfmade Java programms aswell(Should not be a problem for a gaming machine ). He wont run professional photo or video editing software.
  13. Ok, I will ask him if he is willing to spend some more on the 280x and the asrock 990fx However I dont think hes willing to pay additional 50 euros after I streched his budged already Can you tell me what actual game(bf4)-performance I can expect? (7970 vs r9 280x; 970A vs 990FX) Maybe I can confront him with some nice numbers and he will agree
  14. For some reason in germany the r9 280x costs about 270euro and the 7970 cost 212euro. Also what 990x mobo would you recommend? - He said 600euro and I was able to make him spend 50 euro more so im not sure if i can go any higher. Edit: I found a r9 280x for 233euros: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/3072MB-Sapphire-Radeon-R9-280X-Dual-X-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Lite-Retail-_935700.html Will it improve the performance, is it worth spending 20euro more?
  15. Hi, I want to build a rig for my friend that should cost around 650euro. Games like BF4 should be playable. Here is a link to all the parts i selected aswell as some links to a german store: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=EF1D957B7B280E32!918&authkey=!AHVL_Ot_hpIIeg4&ithint=file%2c.xlsx I will gift him a SSD for his rig for Christmas and a Corsair H80 for CPU Cooling is already present. I would be glad if someone could look over it and tell me what i can improve and if the price is ok. Also it would be nice if you could tell me wether the FX - 6350 will bottleneck the HD 7970. Thanks in advance! (Sry for my bad english, I'm german and im still learing it.)
