  1. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I will try that shortly
  2. Hi all, I haven't visited the forum in some time now, but I come back in need of some assistance. Recently, my computer has been blue screening more frequently and I believe one of my hard drives is to blame. I first thought it could perhaps be a thermal issue, but after I set custom profiles for my fans, that was deemed to not be the issue. Then, I thought perhaps the issue was for certain applications or software, but I have yet to find a correlation. Now earlier today, there was a windows popup (I'm using Windows 7 still) saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately to prevent information loss, and then contact the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace the disk". At this point, I am at a loss for what to do. My system has two hard drives: a Samsung 840 Evo 250GB SSD which I use as a boot drive and other important applications and there is a Western Digital 3TB mass storage drive for everything else. The details say the issue is with the WD 3TB drive, but every time I try to back up the drive to my external portable hard drive, the computer crashes at some point during the back up and there's nothing I can do but start over, only for it to crash again. Any help is much appreciated Thanks
  3. Thanks all.. I'll take everything you have said into consideration so far when making final choice!
  4. I've had closed back all my life, but I suppose I am willing to try open if I can find a good pair
  5. Hi All, Recently, my Steelseries Sibera V2's broke after a long period of use. Now I am in the market for a new headset with a decent mic for under (or close to) $200. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
  6. Yeah, that's what got me thinking about getting a new audio setup haha
  7. So I come to the forums today to ask if the microphone configuration I have in mind is good, or if I should change out some things to be more price efficient, better audio, etc. Basically, my old headset microphone configuration isn't very good, but I don't want to buy a new headset so I am thinking of getting an actual mic and a boom arm to keep it near me. The parts I had in mind were as follows: Sennheiser E835 Microphone http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Dynamic-Cardioid-Vocal-Microphone/dp/B00006I5R7 Rode PSA1 Boom Arm http://www.amazon.com/RODE-Swivel-Mount-Studio-Microphone/dp/B001D7UYBO On Stage Foam Ball-Type Mic Windscreen http://www.amazon.com/Stage-Foam-Ball-Type-Windscreen-Black/dp/B0002GXF8Q ..And finally, I'm thinking to add a Mixer to my setup in the way of the Alesis MultiMix 4 http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-MultiMix-USB-Four-Channel-Mixer/dp/B001T9O5VG As you can tell, I don't have boat loads of money to be throwing around on this, so I tried to keep it within a reasonable price. I will be using this for Twitch streams and YouTube videos. If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts on this setup, please let me know. Thanks for the help, Matt
  8. Hello all, Lately, I have been intrigued with the Linux distro, Ubuntu. I have wanted to try Linux for a while, and I now, I really want to. I have been reading up on how to dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu, but most of the tutorials are on systems with one hard drive. This got me wondering, how would I install Ubuntu on a system with two hard drives. I would like my SSD to be only Windows and some important applications. I would like to partition my 2TB hard drive to be partly Linux, partly Windows (Mostly Windows, though, as it will remain my main operating system). Is there a way to make these two operating systems play nice on separate hard drives relatively easy? Thanks, TheSportkid24
  9. Hello all, I am looking at doing a triple monitor setup for my next build and am having trouble finding a good way of mounting them. I would like one that I could mount to my desk from the back, but all suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. Actually, one more question. I just installed it fine and would like to be able to reuse the USB I used for the install. How would I reformat the usb back to its original state?
  11. Just did that, all looks well now. Thanks a ton for the help! Will let you know if anything else goes wrong
  12. Is it safe to unplug the USB now? I'm not sure if Win 7 is done installing...
  13. Hello all, I recently completed the build phase of my mini-itx and have a bit of an issue with the install of Windows 7. I set the boot priority to boot from the USB I have Windows 7 on and saved the changes. The system boots into the installing windows screen fine, but after the initial restart, it restarts back into the install windows 7 screen. I am pretty sure this is an issue with something in the BIOS, help?
  14. Would putting the stock cooler on mess up the thermal conductivity once the H80i is put on?
  15. Would the pre-applied thermal paste on the stock cooler mess up the thermal conductivity when the H80i goes on it?
  16. Hello all, I recently received the parts for my first rig. I was originally going to do an external build so I could make sure everything worked, but now I am not so sure. I am going to be using: Bitfenix Prodigy Maximus VI Impact EVGA 780 Ti i7 4770k Corsair H80i Corsair AX760 Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) Samsung 840 Evo 250GB WD Black 3TB 3 Noctua NF-S12A PWM replacement fans for the stock fans ------ So I was wondering if it is worth it to do an external build for this because I would have to partially install the H80i for the test boot. Thanks and happy holidays!
  17. Hello all, I have ordered the parts for my new system that I will be building shortly. I am building an ultra small form factor gaming and video editing machine with a 4770k and 780 Ti. I am definitely going to overclock my CPU as much as I can. I purchased the Corsair H80i (Closed Loop Cooler) to cool the CPU. I was wondering, how far would I be able to overclock a 4770k with the H80i? (Obviously depending on how far the chip itself can overclock) Thanks!
  18. Hello all, I am going to be building a mini-Itx gaming/video editing rig shortly and have a question concerning the Corsair h80i. For my case, I am going to use the Bitfenix Prodigy. I know the motherboard is mounted horizontally, and am concerned how this will effect mounting the backplate for the h80i. (I don't want to have to do any case modding.) So I was wondering... How would I go about mounting the h80i? I have seen others do it, but not on the Bitfenix Prodidgy. Any advice welcome and greatly appreciated. (Also, if anyone has any recommendations for fans to replace the SP120L's that come with the h80i, feel free to say so.) Thanks
  19. I'm going to be replacing the stock fans with 3 Noctua NF-S12A's (PWM Version) so I believe air flow will be pretty good
  20. I am going to be building a mini-itx gaming/video editing rig featuring the i7 4770k, Maximus VI Impact, and the GTX 780ti. I am pretty sure that the 780ti runs much cooler and quieter than something like the R9 290, but I still wonder... Since cooling is everything in small form factor builds, should I wait for companies such as EVGA, ASUS, or MSI to make their versions of the 780ti featuring the ACX Cooler, Direct CUII cooling, or Twin Frozr? Thanks
  21. So if I really wanted, I could use four S12's by using one of the Y splitters and turn the curve down to make them quiet? Also, I believe this is the PWM version of the S12's ---> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608038 Thanks for the advice by the way
  22. So how many fans do you think I could fit in the Prodigy using the Y cables?
  23. I am going to be building a mini-itx gaming/video editing rig and want to replace the stock fans in the Bitfenix Prodigy with either the Noctua NF-S12A's or the NF-P12's. I would like to get quiet operation without sacrificing performance. I believe that Noctua fans can do just that but I don't know which fans I should go with. By the way, yes I know one of them is a static pressure fan, but on the Noctua website it says both are good for case fans. ---> http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=which_fan_is_right_for_me&lng=en (Also, I believe that some of the Noctua fans come with splitters so I could use two fans while only using one motherboard chassis fan mount. Is this true? If so, which fans does this come with? Using Maximus VI Impact if that helps.) Thanks!
