  1. so a couple of days ago i got a lian li O11 dynamic evo case and to fill out all the fan mounts i got two packs of the corsair QL fans

    https://www.newegg.com/corsair-co-9050098-ww-case-fan/p/N82E16835181186?Item=N82E16835181186

    https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-02AA-002H1?Item=9SIBEYDJ5K5195

i took my parts out of my old case and put them all in the O11 but when i turned everything on one of the fans on my aio ( https://www.newegg.com/corsair-liquid-cooling-system-icue-h150i-elite-capellix/p/N82E16835181203 ) doesnt spin. along with the top 3 fans and all the fans on my aio dont light up. now with the aio i got the a fan/rgb controller up and with the fans i got a rgb hub im using both so im not sure if thats problem just kinda looking for any insight and help from proeple who know more. this is the first time i dove into the rgb fan space

  2. yeah i mean i think each core was  spiking to 60% at most at times but the overall usage was around like 20%

i have tried different monitors and i cant tell if its different or if just the fact that those monitors are at 60hz is the the difference i have no way atm to monitor the fps while doing things on those monitors. only my main one.

okay i hooked in an fps counter to my top one and no im not having the same issue at all. its just when programs are on my main monitor

I was wondering if you were the same user, but I reply to multiple people so my hamster brain doesn't always notice XD.

Yes sorry chkdsk and sfc are command prompt commands, I really should note that and not assume.

See what happens after that. If it is still choppy try only monitor at a time to see if the same thing happens.

See if you can monitor your CPU, RAM and GPU/VRAM usage to see if anything seems taxed. HWmonitor can do that I think if you don't have any good monitoring software

Just a note don't assume I remember what you tried from the other post, doubt I could easily keep track

so ran the chkdsk and sfc and no problems found with scan at the end. that didnt change it. then tried the only using on monitor and that didnt change anything either. i am monitoring things yes and nothing is getting pinned to like 100 or anything. so im not sure what is causing this

Sometimes a bad BIOS version does happen.

Try a CMOS clear just to be sure all values are set right, then try to set it again.

You could then try going to one stick of RAM to see if that stick (or any stick) can hold that value. Narrow down if any stick is acting up. Make sure to use the slot the MB identifies as the main slot for one stick of RAM

If they all do it, then honestly I would downgrade my BIOS if you used the newest

so i downgraded the bois last night that didnt seem to change anything. still the same issue, then cleared CMOS no change either but then i tired the ram thing. honestly i had an inclination that this might be the problem but i didnt want it to be. (this being the fact that i have two different kits of ram installed in my pc corsair vengace pros 32 gig kit and gskill trident z 16 gig kit. they were the same speed) so i removed the gskill kit and it worked got the speed and timing working

all of this came from just me trying to fix the problem from my first post thinking maybe updating my bios and chipset and all that would fix it given my DP cable wasnt looking like the problem. thank you for answering and helping me get this fixed

I have several DP cables, never heard of FPS issues... the aren't really related.

FPS is more GPU/GPU/RAM and drivers related.

Are you currently using multiple monitors?

What are your specs and setup?

Did this happen recently maybe after windows updates or the like?

The first free easy tip I would do is make sure your drive is healthy and fix any possible OS corruption: chkdsk /f /r (it will need to reboot)

    then: sfc /scannow

That is kinda my go to method because drivers are stored on your drive and stuff gets corrupted over time. Just gives your system the best chance before we start fixing stuffs.

so i noticed you responded to both of my posts so thank you for that. ill point this out im not sure if DP is the problem given thati have tried so many different DP cables at this point. to answer your questions.
yes i am using multiple monitors
    my specs are
i7 9700k (i do OC it but for the purpuses of testing i have tried it with out any OC at all on anything)
    Asus ROG Maximous XI Hero

32 gigs of Corsair vengance pro ddr4 3200mhz (this is different from before but ill explain that in my other post)
Asus ROG Strix 2080ti (same thing about OC as the CPU)

samsung 870 evo 500 gig (as my main boot drive)

    Corsair RM1000i
    monitors are

Asus ROG Swift pg279q (main monitor where i have noticed this issue)

LG 34um67 (i use a dp for this)

Dell  S2716DGR (use an hdmi for this)

generic acer 1080p monitor (hdmi as well)

im not sure if this is a recent thing honestly it feels new esspecially in programs like premeire pro

but i have updated to windows 11 recently

is chkdsk a command prompt command?

  6. so i updated my BOIS  on my ASUS ROG Maximums XI Hero and after posting i went in to set all my settings back up turning on xmp and setting my overclock and all that kinda stuff. i hit the restart to save and the post failed i went into the bois a couple of times turning on and off different settings for a while it kept failing to post until i finally nailed down what was causing it. doing anything with ram.  turned on xmp that failed set the speed timings and voltage manually that still caused it to fail.

been able to boot into windows finally but with my ram at 2133. any reason this would be the case?

i would try a hdmi cable, personally i havent seen a dp cable that works without terrible issues yet.

so i have kinda in a way i have multiple monitors and pulled the programs over to a different monitor and im not sure if it had the same issue or not. also for a long term salution dont know how well that would work given that i really really like using gsnyc and would hate to loose that and my 144htz

  8. so i been having this issue while just using none gaming applications such as file explorer or other just normal applications on being on my desktop. at first i thought maybe my display port cable was doing something weird given i have also noticed my pc cant hold a stable frame rate in games right now. not that its low frame rate just completely unstable. i bought two new DP cables and both have the same the problem so maybe its not the DP cable.

how im seeing my frame rate of my desktop is with a built in FPS counter in my monitor i have an asus pg279q
i can also feel it heavily getting around like 7 to 20 fps with applications that arent heavy at all. i mean i also get them in things like premier pro and photoshop but this feels very new

i guess what im asking is. has anyone seen this before what could cause this. have i just never noticed this? i feel like for things Premier pro this is new

maybe that the timings on the sets are different and causing it to go into single channel mode?

    maybe a near death module?

but my main suggestion would be pull all of the sticks out and carefully put them in one by one making sure they are seated properly. (this would fix the problem if theres a small piece of dust, not a good enough connection etc)

so the thing is i dont have any observable problem per say that i can test to see if its causing problems just you know every now and again premerie or a game crashes for no obvious reason. things like that. so im not even sure if have both kits of ram is causing an issue.

ive looked up running two different memory kits and all the answers i have seen for questions like that is from someone looking to buy them and they just get told no.well i already made the fantastic choice to do that so those kinda answers dont exactly help me :P

  10. alright so, i have been building computers and fixing them up for a long time. while when it comes to the people i help out and build computers for i am very much a by the book kinda guy. but when it comes to my own pc i tend to get a little dumb and make alot of mistakes.

the one im bringing up now is that i have a set of gskill trident z  ddr4 3200 16 kit. a while back i wanted get more memory and happened to have a rare amount of extra cash for me. and being the goober i am i went to best buy to pick up another set of that ram given that i knew they had it. unfortunately for me they were out and so i made the big brain choice of picking up a corsair vengeance pro 32 gig kit and just added it to my pc. it was also ddr4 3200 but now i have both sets of ram in my pc.

i dont actually have any evidence that has impacted my computer negatively just a creeping suspicion given that i have had some weird errors and crashes i cant pin down. my question is more does it benefit enough to have the full 48 gigs of ram in there at the risk of potential problems that may or may not be there and is there problems that would come out of doing what i have done.

on why i would need 48 gigs in the first place. im a film editor that regularly works with 4k and in after effects. sorry if this came off rambally or weird i honestly have never really done anything like posting in a forum before,

any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful thank you.
