  1. An AIO with 3 fans (hoping the case can fit it) can help a bit. Tho do make sure if you make a purchase of one of these units that the warranty is some what good. I havn't had 1 in many years was a corsair 1 back in the day it died on me the pump stopped (was lucky to have had a backup cooler) So don't get rid of that cooler you have in it now. Good to have back up's of stuff for pc's. Aio's now im not sure on them these days but hey at least you can get 1 with RGB and set a color you like. In terms of temps & performance, probs 20-30% better in both terms from it. Not cpu's full potential tho, but it can & should help. Grab a contact frame as well cheap. Im about to get 1 myself soon. Tho this is all up to you.
  2. For me & my 13600k, well im a lucky person to get temps at 80oC Cinebench running @ 5.6ghz. Cooling is key in this chip & so is the undervolting of it as well. 1.298v for me. That big chunky 2 fan cooler sorry to say it but back in the day this would work wonders. (3570k days with a 4.4 ghz overclock i know as i did just that). Today with these chips from intel a serious undervolt and the multiplier at say 42 to 44 is probs all this cooler is gonna get you on a (non hot day for profile 1. in BIOS) profile 2. 38 to 40 just to make sure. Till you can get at least a thick 360 AIO. Then you can get going with that. As said im lucky cus i use a 4 rad system & a Velocity 2 Block to get what i got. i can still go on tho im more then happy where it's at. So if you know how to undervolt it & have a day to play around with it (carefully) test it out for what you got now it helps to learn the chips behavior whilst doing this. Try to stay under 90oC running a test. Best of luck buddy you will get it going hard. Cpu-z & Core temp programs running on top of CInebench just so you can check things as you go. oh and a great fan curve. Get the fans going just b4 those temps start to kick. Hope this helps man.
  3. I use the 690 intel version & it's a beast, but im no expert or know anything about amd chips. Tho the mobo is stella. Nice fan/RGB in the same program (gigabyte control center). Mines the Z690 Aorus Elite DDR4. ive had no issues. So i don't see why the mobo it's self would be an issue. unless it's not for that cpu as said i know nothing about amd. But the mobo is cool, good choice id say.
  4. @RONOTHAN## Thank you for the reply, im gonna have to sus out what LLC is. & learn all this.
  5. Google says some weird stuff & reddit. so no ill ask in here. My last upgrade was years back 2014 i think it's around that time i got the 7600k. I was able to get 4.9ghz on it tho settled for the even NO: of 4.8ghz. 86oC max temp. Now that ive got a 13600k ive got this little beast of a Cpu to 5.6ghz 83oC under R23 tests. My question on this is what is the safe voltage limit. Addpative & or offset. At the moment (just vcore) mines at CPU-Z states 1,284v flickers sometimes to say 1.296v. I have read that stock is running at around 1.4v, this feels high. Well coming from the 7600k days i can't remember what i had it set to in the Z270 Asus Mobo. The how 2's so i know im not about to make a pop sound out of my CPU hence the reason im asking. With this said when i was overclocking the 7600k some said stay below this voltage so i did. Im going to do just that with this CPU as well. (As ive got some head room for improvement in terms of temps.) As it's my new beast of a chip i gotta say man what an incredible upgrade it was runs everything i throw at it with ease now under 50% load. No more 100% CPU usage in games i couldn't be more happy. With that said such a well deserved upgrade as i had the 7600k for many years i wish so to do that again with this. (to last another 5 yrs.) Side note: tho important ill set the vcore voltage to -- tho then on the right hand side after a reboot into Bios it'll say higher on the right hand side in Bios, not sure what i true or not. What is true voltage im setting it to. Right hand side or left where im setting it. or go by CPU-Z. So all i need (i hope) is a how to overclock this new era of Cpu's & a safe voltage to stick by & stay under. Then i can set it to say --- that & know im good. Now for the beans specs: Win-10-Home-64bit. PSU: Corsair RM 1000. Mobo: Z690-Gigabyte Aorus Elite DDR4. Cpu: 13600k. Gpu: 970 g1 gigabyte. Bios hacked. RAM: Team T-Force Vulcan Z, 32GB (4x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 Grey (this is another 1 ill need to learn later on.) X.M.P is on now. Cooling: EK Velocity 2 Cpu block. EK Waterblock for the Gpu. Custom Loop all EK parts 4 rad system: Soft tubing. 120: back of case. 240: top of case. 360: bottom of case. 480: front of case EK Vader fans. Thanks in advance.
  6. ok so an update. i removed the 3rd ram stick out & put in the other 1 in the 1st slot 1|1|0|1 like that it seems to not like having 4 sticks in but 3 sticks of ram in the mobo works hu? haha still reports 2400mhz. im wondering if it's voltage i don't know. my ram says 1.35v I just checked BIOS it says this: DRAM Voltage Control VDDQ Auto 1.200V DRAM Voltage (CH A/B) Auto 1.200V This could be it im guessing Should i slowly up the voltage of DRAM Voltage till i get to 1.35V Im guessing it says 2400mhz & only 3 sticks works due to lower voltage. But a good thing is all 4 sticks of ram do work on the mobo tho only 3 sticks at a time.
  7. I was thinking this as well. Also take a stick out move it to that slot so on. CPU socket is new looks fine. no bent pins as i looked then gently placed it in, then the Velocity 2 water block is in. Did a Cinebench test got 19k on it. Massive improvement from the 7600k. ill sus this out more in the morning getting late now. Tho thanks for the ideas Alinz, champ. Ive got Vengence 2133mhz ram that works ill test that out as well also. New ram is 3200mhz tho is says 2400, that's all odd to me.
  8. Just got the Mobo up & going today, (was extremely happy to get into BIOS as the last 2 days it wouldn't let me Q-Flash so the pc shop put it the latest Bios in for me) v(F25). When i put the Ram in i did 1 at a time that works up to the last module. Out of the 4 dim slots on this new Mobo only 3 slots can use my ram the left slot no the other 3 yes. Also shows 2400mhz instead of 3200mhz dims installed like so. 0|1|1|1 The memory was working in the Z270 mobo. Asus Prime Z270 AR. When it comes to Z690 Bios & the know hows i don't just yet ill learn it i just upgraded from Z270. So yeah a long time. My specs: PSU: Corsair RM 1000 all those years ago. Mobo: Z690-Gigabyte Aorus Elite DDR4 Cpu: 13600k Gpu: 970 g1 gigabyte. Bios hacked. RAM: 2x Team T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 Grey Win 10-home-64bit. Cooling: Custom Loop all EK parts 4 rad system: 120: back of case. 240: top of case. 360: bottom of case. 480: front of case EK Vader fans. I would like to get all 4 ram modules in the Mobo all 4 was bought at the same time & work. Im sure it's most likely something to do with a Bios setting. (hopefully) 24pin-8pin-4pin. All plugged in. Tested a game just then seems fine. Thank you.
  9. I do what the manual says & youtube vids say try this usb try that usb. Use FAT32. 4gb stick or 6gb stick. ive got a new mobo: Gigabyte Aurus Elite Z690 DDR4. & i got a 13600K to go with it. I put the stick in press the flash button on the board nothing happens. Mobo has 24 pin & the 8 pin eps up to plugged in that's it. b4 i read that to clear CMOS so i did. What that did now is when i press the Q-Flash button nothing happens b4 the Clear CMOS. I pressed the q flash the pc started. not flash an orange light to put a new BIOS on it flash it. so im lost spent 3-4 hrs on it now & im lost on what to do. Most of the comments on youtube say you saved me thanks so on for me i feel like ive gone backwards ;p. Any help would be much appreciated thank you. if i can't ill have put the old pc in till this is sorted.
  10. Thank you, now im thinking instead of 12gen this. 13th gen is cheaper i didn't expect that 1. I need clarification on the Mobo, Since BIOS Version F22 (there is a F25) i can use 13th gen that cpu 13600k im not gonna do 13700k as it's $600. so yeah this mobo with 13600k is cheaper & runs a ton better you say, i say heck yeah & thanks for the advice on this 1. Wow im actually shocked. Ill do this tho not just yet in a few days. Oh my ram upgrade is more then fine right ? like ill never hit 32gb's anyhow but 3200mhz should be fine for gaming. Thanks again.
  11. Im upgrading Finally from Z270, & need a bit of insight on how better things will be, coming from a Z270 to Z690. 7th Gen to 12th Gen. When i upgraded years ago from the 3570k to the 7600k i noticed a small tho ok performance jump, i was happy. I need insight/thoughts from what i use now to what im getting :Not upgrading GPU just yet. My current build is: 1080p gaming for me. Case: Thermaltake core x71 non glass edition. later ill upgrade it, fine for now. PSU: Corsair RM 1000 all those years ago. Mobo: Asus Prime Z270-AR. Cpu: 7600k oc'd to 4.8 Gpu: 970 g1 gigabyte. Bios hacked. RAM: corsair vengeance 2311 mhz 2x4gb 2x8gb. - just upgraded ill get to that. Win 10-home-64bit. Cooling: Custom Loop all EK parts 4 rad system: Temps are around gpu-23c - just under 50c under game load 55c in summer time. cpu hit around low 80's - no load it's 38-40's. 120: back of case. 240: top of case. 360: bottom of case. 480: front of case EK Vader fans. Im getting/have these parts: Mobo: Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite DDR4 (just got it) CPU: 12600K or 12700k not sure yet. do i spend 400 or 500. ish Australia prices. RAM: 2x Team T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 Grey - 32GB's installed now. i put it in the z270 just to see. works ok. CPU Block not sure on what 1 to get either EK or get the Thermaltake W9 clear version so i can see the coolant. Years since ive upgraded my system, every year clean the pc & change coolant. As i mentioned before the upgrade from 3570k to the 7600k i noticed a small tho ok performance jump, i was happy with it. So im guessing ill notice a great jump in performance coming from 7th gen to 12th gen. I don't need the latest top. Thoughts & opinions please on this topic cpu block & cpu & anything else would be great. Want pics or more info i can if you want. & Thank You. 12600k or 12700k. What 1700 block to get. EK or Thermaltake's W9 clear version.
  12. 4 pin led strip case lighting. How to dim them down. Is there a small cheap control box with a dial knob i can use to dim these down. Or even a Diy option. Mine are white only: Molex to 4 pin. i use 3 . 2 are daisy chained with another runs of another molex cable. My Mobo: im not even sure if i can do anything in the Bios for led. It's an old Asus Prime Z270-AR. for my 7600k. I have 1 on the left wall of case 1 in the bottom & 1 right wall of case. ive looked at google just can't seem to find anything. Thanks again.
  13. The earphones are: Beyerdynamic - Beat Byrd. Limiter was the 1st thing i tried then a silly app to boost audio i got rid of that 1. Rambling no, was just stating bud. Hope this helps & thanks again. I did try a cheap pair of Sony non in ear earphones. still the same.
  14. Samsung Galaxy A12 - 3.5mm jack output is not loud enough, needs more Volume & bass to go with it. Like the Ipod Nano from back in the day. So im thinking if the FiiO KA1 will drive more into my earphones? when i play my playlist, the volume with drop low end & Volume as it's trying to pump out the bass. it can't even with a EQ App i have to turn the bass low end down to mid range just to get volume. If you call it Volume lol. So yeah need a bit of a help in hand with this 1. Something small to put in my pocket with the phone. Not a monster like the phone kinda is already. Thanks in advance. I remember my old Ipod nano 4GB driving earphones pretty darn well. It was loud as & had the bass to go with it. In fact it could go that loud that id not go any where near 100 % more like 80%.
  15. Hey all, quick question for today We all are very aware that we can "set icon pics" for our folders, & also "choose a file to show on this folder icon. I was wondering if it is possible in Windows Explorer Folders, to set the white background to a picture it self. With out a 3rd party program. Im keen to set (my movies,my music,my pictures) so forth. ive seen some stuff on the net tho i am a bit hesitant to download these 3rd party downloads. ill give you an example down below. Thanks. To This.
  16. Fixed it - gpu updated didn't work so took the GPU it self out "lucky i use soft tubing" put it back in & bobs ya uncle. thank god i didn;t have to do a re-install.
  17. Ok an update on this - got new PGU drivers didn't install the sound driver ive got my own sound. Tested it again. & then played GTA V to get this freeze & also the sound freezes as well. see pic ALSO have in mind other games working fine. As you can see the freeze sections in this it looks blocky that's the freezing then it got ok then back to it. It's strange.
  18. um my oc on my gpu is - oh 1st up that temp thing my mistake. this is my overclock at the moment nothing silly on it. see pic. Also i don't use a AIO ive got a 4 rad system - r yeah see pic.
  19. Right so my MSI afterburner is showing a stupid CPU temp of over 360 oC Also my gta v on pc now freezes just started today. so i played a game of "Age Of Empires 3 with no issues" . i don't get it i checked the bios & my pump real quick. after seeing the that temp all is fine. 28oC. it's sitting on so hmm. 2 issues in 1 ? oh my specs are: Asus Z270 AR 24gb ram. 970 g1 - technically it's 3.5gb's - runs game fine. 7600k @ 4.6gh'z at the moment - did have it set to 4.7ghz b4 seeing that temp. um if anything needed in terms of specs ask.
  20. As a Pastel user for over 2-3 yrs i can say these work extremely well for me. I never turn my pc of only restart it from time to time. EK Pastel worked fine for me. Now im on Mayhems Pastel UV White. I was also in the same boat & was considering the Vue, to not getting it due to what i heard. if you go Clear then with a Dye - or even the Pastel way you will be happy. this is my thoughts on it. (Don't get that Vue) .
  21. Yep im totally happy in my choice to use Mayhems Patel Uv White - not that i use the Uv but the white is so good. glad i didn't take the hype train on this, there is no way i would be able to use this and game here in the heat of Summer in Australia. All i need to do i get these pass-thu's in the system and ill be happy. Just need to get the drill bit for it. and be very gentle lolz.
  22. Right now i know things "are" strange and im not loosing it xD. & not a noob lol. Um what ill do is, leave it as is just let the Molex run it. (does get i little warm tho guessing this is the norm on the base) As it is well over a year old now. And when i upgrade ill grab 1 that has the "4 pin PWM" then i know that i can control it. Also i don't want to start a new thread just quickly ask here if i get 2 pumps would it be beneficial. 4 rad system. not seeing that much movement in the loop, tho the temps are very good. Thanks Again. The Help-has been well appreciated.
