A friends son is going to be starting a computer science program at SNHU. The specs they're recommending are... 8th or 9th gen intel i7 (I bet he could get along with an AMD mobile CPU) 8-16 GB RAM 250 - 500+ GB storage (SSD recommended) 802.11 WC dual band wifi I'm a Mac user, but I know that he's not going to be satisfied with my recommendations. And I'm almost clueless about the state of Windows laptops (Dell, HP, Acer, etc are the big guys still, right? LOL). He's on a budget too, which throws a wrench into the specs if he wants it to last a couple of years - argh! Any recommendations?

Winning a blade stealth might be enough to convert a Mac user. :-)
