  1. But where do I activate PBO the most simplistic way on the BIOS so that it does it's turbo boost specd by Amd? There are quite a lot of options.
  2. Stock should be 28.000 when it's doing it's turbo boost. I think it runs without the turbo boost but just need to know how it's properly activated because there are like 8 settings of PBO. Simply what the Turbo boost of an Intel K is, isn't on.
  3. Hello there, Friend of mine runs his 5950x on an Asus X570 Proart motherboard and he scores about 24.000 in Cinebench R23, which tells me he's not hitting the CPU at full performance. What does he have to activate in the BIOS to run the CPU at full speed? I know it's probably PBO and I have 0 experience with X570 and since I'm helping him over the phone I can't test settings myself and I've seen like 8 different type of PBO and Performance settings in the motherboard BIOS manual which I can't connect. It's not necessarily about OC but running the CPU at it's boost frequency because it looks like it only does the base clock. Can somebody tell me how to most basically unlock the 5950X so that it runs at it's advertised speeds because in BIOS default, it doesn't do it. Motherboard is the Asus Proart X570 Creator.
  4. Ah gotcha, I was just asking whether the power delivery for a CPU like the 13900K or 14900K is fine for what the Z790 Creator offers (8+4)? Or would you need 8+8 to power such the CPU? I never meant to only connect one 8 port
  5. So you can run all the 13 and 14th gen processors with that connector without overclocking or just the 13700K? You mean by overclocking doing more than the K boost clock? I mean who wants to overclock these CPUs nowadays anyways lol?
  6. I've seen the review of the F / Non-K versions and they unfortunately draw a lot more power than the K somehow and get hotter. Is the Lian Li 216 Solid? So I guess there's nothing against going with the Be Quiet 12 M?
  7. No I mean the 12V ATX, whether it would cause issues with the 14900K or 14700K.
  8. Any idea whether the Proart's 6 pol 12V instead of 8 is an issue for let's say the 14700 or 14900K? I see most other motherboards with 8.
  9. Unhappy that I couldn't fit my possible "EATX" (which isn't even as big as E-ATX but somewhere in between) motherboard into the Fractal North, I checked out the Lian Li 216 and came across the following: As you can see this is the Loan Li 216, supporting EATX, right? And this is the Fractal North, not supporting it. Am I going blind but does the NON-EATX support case more / equal clearance to the cable breakout than the EATX supporting case?
  10. So would I be able to install the motherboard into the North case as long as it fits since she screws are at the same position, it won't lead to less stability right?
  11. Yeah I'll have to ponder about it, just not confident in buying ASRock I guess... Generally speaking with their reputation in the past and their lack of warranty while everyone else gives 3 years. Are the holes on the Taichi Lite the same? I've seen people mentioning mounting their EATX into the north. Spec wise the Taichi is a lot better but I'm worried that I might hate the BIOS and that it won't last as long as an MSI or Asus board generally.
  12. Ah so the 15s actually has a lower rating than the 12A.
  13. For me, it's now between the Proart and Taichi Lite. One advantage might be, that I can get 5 years of warranty from Asus for their Pro-Art stuff if this thing is still valid: https://www.asus.com/ee/events/info/2047 What do you think I should do?
  14. I mean, I'm quite experienced when it comes to PC building and triple check everything and was surprised myself. Also I ran the 15s with dual fans so I don't know. Maybe it has to do with the mounting height of the D15 compared to the 12A. Or it's AMD vs Intel because Gamer's Nexus uses AMD to test coolers and it might make better contact with the thermal interface of the CPU. Something is wrong there.
  15. I don't know, I had the exact same experience in 2020, when I tried the 12A and it ran cooler than the D15s (I don't know whether the 15s is much inferior than the regular 15). I think I took it down twice and reapplied thermal paste with the same result. It wasn't a massive improvement, maybe 3 degrees but it was a lot less jumpy when power was drawn.
  16. This video is telling a different story: kind of also confirmed what I have experienced with my 9900KS, that the 12A actually peforms better than the D15 and many other coolers.
  17. Just the way the sides are attached but I'd have to see that in person. Do you know why the normalized GPU are so bad for the 216, Torrent compact et cetera compared to the north or is it their testing?
  18. Haha I meant the compact not nano, however, these results from normalizing it do a certain noise level look odd on all the small form factor contenders except the north: Even though they are supposed to be made for airflow, at low noise level, GPU temps aren't looking that good. Anybody got an idea what that is?
  19. After doing some research, given the performance boost of the 14700k, I don't think I will go for the 14900k and rather the 14700k which will be enough performance, would that make an 850 more feasible or should I stick with the 1000? How reliable is actually outervision.com
  20. Wait a second, the RMx doesn't have the ATX 3.0 port and just cables as you would get them with the GPU? So it's not really an ATX 3.0 PSU and just the rails simply meet the power specs? Wait a second have they changed that for safety?
  21. Yeah I'll go for the shifted one, thanks for reassuring me Wish they had a regular version though at the back with ATX 3.0.... I hope the sideways thing won't lead me to bend down the cable ends in order to close the case's door...
  22. So the GF3 would also be an option? I've already read 2 reviews of it where it blew people's PC. Dunno about going for the 1000 watts over 850 when chosing the 13700k? I'm back to thinking how it was when people overshot PSUs up to 1200 watts for a 9900KS. Funny enough, my 9900KS pulls 200 watts I've just checked running at 5 GHz Auto, forgot that, on a G2.
  23. The torrent nano looks higher quality to me than the Lancool 216? Don't really need more space and rather quality or the frame that it's sturdy and doesn't flex.
  24. Yeah, I noticed that going through the specs, I love the mounting and specs of this case though, so sad, to not make it available for E-ATX.
  25. I remember that many "quality cases" also flexed which I didn't like. Have you tried the fractal north? My mobo won't probably fit in there
