    Glad to see such feedback. The stand off that Luke refer too is actually supposed to go at the bottom of the PCI-Express support at the same level as for the motherboard. This is described in the manual (but who read them anyway ?) Disclaimer : I am part of the project

    Depending if the performances are a big priority or not you could opt-in for the cheap combo : z87 mobo and a G3258 CPU (50-60$). The CPU is a low end one but you can overclock and have fun with it.
