  1. Hey, so I built my pc for Christmas and it shuts off randomly after a few min to a couple min... then rapidly turns on and off. Took it to a shop and the guy said the motherboard failed. So, I filled out a RMA for MSI (company of motherboard) and have to take pc apart to send motherboard to them. I need to take the CPU out and cover the socket (what they said) so, what should I cover it with? Electrical tape? Regular tape? Leave it alone in antistatic bag? (One it came with) Please let me know soon, thanks.
  2. Ok, so I built this computer for Christmas and it worked fine for 3 weeks. Now it shuts down (black screen) immediately and then goes into a cycle on/off every couple seconds until I shut psu off or turn it off manually (sometimes works). This shuts off after about 2-10min of usage, and then goes into that cycle. I tried fixing it myself for 3 hours checking plugs, cables, and outlets but didn't work. So, I took it to a shop and could see what they could do... Is there anything else I should do?
  3. Just finished building my new computer earlier today... runs VERY quiet and fast!!  Tell me what you think and what I should upgrade next, thanks!

  4. Hey I'm thinking of a gaming PC and I wanted to know if my list is good.  My budget is around $1100 and maybe a bit over if its worth it.  This is a starter PC, so don't look for anything crazy.

You could cut out the ssd and have a 144Hz monitor.

But if you mainly play exploration games, rpg etc. then 60Hz is just fine. Even for fps, as long as you're just casually playing, 144fps is a luxury.

Yeah, I do play casually as this isn't just for gaming I also have other uses.  I was also wondering if the 240GB ssd is enough?

  5. I will use this PC for mostly gaming and productivity. I want a computer that can handle pretty much all steam games since I've had problems in the past with freezes and black screens.
