  1. Fantastic, I way over built this system it's also meant to host game servers and in worst case scenario be a backup gaming computer for myself. Appreciate the article answers the question perfect. Now if your building a plex server yourself have you thought about setting up a cloud backup for it? Because that is the other thing that I'm struggling with right now. Between my uncle and me (he's a media hoarder) we have about 30TB of media and I want that backed up preferably to the cloud if possible. Currently the only service that seems like it will work for me is BackBlaze but I'll have to plug the NAS in every now and then to update it since it doesn't support NAS drives.
  2. I recently started a plex server and have been adding a lot of media as you do, but I'd like to back it up just in case my hard drives crash I'm currently sitting at about around 2.5 TB but in total between my uncle and I we have about 20-30 TB of media. I'd like to have it all backed up in the cloud, I'm not opposed to paying for the service obviously I'd like it to be as cheap as possible. I remember Linus doing a ad for backblaze a while back and they claimed to have unlimited storage but I'm just curious to hear what you all use.
  3. I'm using a second windows machine that I built for host game servers for me and my friend but also decided to use it as a plex server to get more use out of it, the problem that I'm having is it is a micro-atx build and I only have space for 1 HDD in the case, my question is what would be the best way to expand the storage for plex, will plex recognize a NAS drive as something that it can read off of? Or will I have to use a external hard drive bay of sorts? Thanks in advance for suggestions and help :D
  4. I want to make a move to full liquid cooling and I also plan to go full hard line tubing and I'd like to be able to display the GPU waterblock because I also plan to use Primochill VUE fluid which just gives more of a reason to show it off. So does anyone know of a good full size tower that either has a vertical GPU mount included or a case that is easily moddable to be able to use a vertical mount links are helpful thanks guys and gals.
  5. And I do have a red dye but I see no signs of any wetness or dry dye residue, I guess I'll just have to keep a close eye on it the next few days/weeks to make sure it doesn't keep dropping. Thanks guys I'm glad I can always come on here and ask my normally stupid questions and get answers.
  6. It's been about 9 months since I first set this loop up
  7. So I was playing ark today and I had my case door open as my 1080ti gets decently hot when playing that game (its not in the loop) and I noticed my res water level had dropped about 1/3 of a inch or 8.4mm (once I measured) I popped open my case and I cant find any sign of leaks... so is it possible that it has just evaporated over the course of the last few weeks/months and I've only just noticed it or do you guys think that I'm just missing a super slow leak? I'm still relatively new at custom loops so pardon my ignorance.
  8. Anyone know of a lightweight 13inch laptop that is at least a i5, 8gb of ram and has a SSD with a dedicated graphics card for around 41000 no more than $1250 I can't seem to find anything that matches what I want. If anyone knows of anything that would be great
  9. So I just rebuild my system to have a CPU loop and I've leak tested it and have been running it for about a week now and I seem to be getting condensation on the inside of the res whenever I game or the system has been on for a long time. Is the normal or is it something that I should be worried about and be trying to fix in someway? Any help is appreciated!
  10. I actually got everything figured it out thanks guys!
  11. Power supply is more than sufficient it's a 1300watt... other than the bit of air that might have gotten in when filling no the pump has always had water in it when turned on. No overclocks are currently set. I let the loop run for about 6 hours leak testing and most of the air bubbles seem to have gotten out. I will check out setting a curve in msi afterburner I didn't have a software to set a fan curve for the cpu fan(pump)
  12. That profile picture man....

  13. Hey guys I just got a quick question, I just finished installing the EK 280 performance water cooling kit and I seem to be getting somewhat inconsistent temps from my cpu which is the only thing currently in the loop, I just reinstalled window and was installing some software and driver and I was spiking up to upper 30s and for a short time at upper 40s but then very shortly after dropping back down to what seems to be my idle at about 27C-28C. So I was wondering if the pump speed had anything to do with that as I can tell its not running at 100% as when I filled the loop I could feel the pump humming and now that is it plugged into the motherboard I can barely feel it. What is a good software to control the speed of the pump or a way to do it at all since I can't do it manually. Or should I not really worry about it. I'm currently still just running with distilled water if that makes a difference, I'll be mixing the coolant later today. Thanks guys I appreciate the help.
  14. As long as you leak test it for at least a few hours when you first put a loop together you can just put paper towels everywhere just to make sure. But as long as your system is powered down it should be ok even if some water does get on a component so long as you give it ample time to dry before powering it back up.
