  1. Thanks The only thing i have found that can do 3 GPU at 3 slot spacing is ASRock AMD Ryzen X570 Phantom Gaming 4 AM4 PCIe 4.0 ATX Motherboard 2 of the GPUS will be in 1x slots but should still be fine for mining
  2. Hi, Forum I am looking to build a NAS/Cripto rig. So i need max GPU's and max disk storage. The Obsidian Series™ 750D Full Tower ATX Case look like a really good candidate. I planning on using x3 3070 cards for the crypto so I need a 3 slot GPU spacing, The configuration in the pictures on the corsair website appear to be the exact configuration. But all the motherboards i have looked at appear to be 3 slot spacing then a 2 slot spacing, am i missing something? The plan is to migrate my existing unraid to this new box and pass though the GPU's to a VM. https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Cases/Obsidian-Series™-750D-Full-Tower-ATX-Case/p/CC-9011035-WW What is this motherboard as this def looks to be 3x 3slot GPU's in the case. looks like its https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/RAMPAGE_IV_EXTREME/ But its there anything current that has the same spacing? Thanks
  3. I been thinking, which is never good. I was wondering why graphics card manufacturers put 2 8 pin connectors on there cards, when 99% of people plug them in with a single cable (we all do it) that daisy chains 2 8 pins into the 1 cable. Surely as it connected outside the card its effectively getting the same thing as if there was a single 8 pin connector. NOW there is a 3 8pin 3080 on the market, WTF. Is this so people actually run 2 cables now, or should we have been running 2 sperate cable all along. My understanding is, within the power supply all the cables are going onto the same power rail anyway so it really about getting more copper between the PSU and the GPU? For example; https://www.tweaktown.com/news/77042/gigabyte-updates-aorus-rtx-3080-master-adds-3rd-8-pin-pcie-connector/index.html The only thing i can think of is the connector has a limited (design capacity) so they use more, but then the GPU connection must be overloaded.
  4. Manufacturer does not test everything. Unlikely to be non compatible as a single stick out of the 4 works. The issue is there are that many timeings and setting I can't tell if one of them is bs. Don't have full settings for the memory
  5. Can you go lower than 1333 the bios oc menus is a pain to use but will try tonight.
  6. Hi All So I bit the bullet and got myself a ram upgrade of eBay (used) Old ram 4x4gb 1600mhz kit (works fine no issues). New ram “XMS3 — 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1333MHz C9 Memory Kit”. I think this ram is newer than my system, so the motherboard does not have xmp for it (although not sure you get that on 1333mhz kits). So basically, I am getting intermittent BCOD’s relating to memory. I have done the obvious, updated the bios, reset to stock (no OC), still no luck. Therefore, I have undertaken some memory testing with Memtest86, which has taken a bit of time. I have run Memtest86 test on the kit as a whole and found many (hundreds) memory errors. I have run each stick individually in my system in the same slot as individual ram sticks, 3 out of the 4 sticks do not pass Memtest86 with 1 passing. Mixing that single passing stick with my existing 4x4gb kit results Memtest86 pass. If any other 8gb sticks is swapped in there are many errors. My existing 4x4gb kit has zero errors. After this testing can rule out other hardware and say there is a defect with 3 out of 4 of the sticks? Or are there more settings I should be looking for in the bios in case its potatod a voltage or a setting. I have not done any memory Overclocking before but my only hope is the mothboard is it pushing something to hard and therefore not working. I did spot it was under volting the ram and have pushed it to 1.5v (up from default) and tried 1.55v with no improvement in ram testing. The ram upgrade is a stop gap measure (6-9 months), but it might be a sign to upgrade sooner, get a new 12 core cpu and a new gpu.
  7. this is not drama. This is just YouTube administration (unless someones Chanel got nuked i do not care) Love you @LinusTech but pleas don't beat a dead horse its not befitting, that I felt was unnecessary and more drama to me and pitch forks of the internet than some random claims.
  8. This is normal for allot of usb ports. it so you can charge things like phones without the computer being on. There is normally a setting in the bios that will turn it off. but allot of the time its only some usb ports.
  9. Thanks. that sort of makes more sense. I will have another go.
  10. What? use OpenVPN not OpenVPN ?? this is what i got https://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/pricing.html are there 2 packages with almost the same name?
  11. Hi all. Looking for a Linux hero. I have a digitalocean server running Ubuntu (its a csgo server among other things). I also have a few family houses dotted about the place. Bottom line i am trying to set up a vpn so that the nas's at the different locations can talk to each other. as well as a other things. The basic plan was to setup the digitalocean as a VPN server so it could route all the traffic between the different locations. I had a go with openvpn and its really easy to set up. but everyone seems to look over the fact only 2 connections to the server can be made at any one time. Unless you buy licences at 10$ a year with a minimum of 10!. thats a pretty big downside that they are not that upfront about. Is there anything Free? and trustworthy (as far as that can be on the internet). I am looking to get 4-5 devices on vpn over multiple sites. right now i am looking into SoftEther. it looks promising, but there might be another pay wall somewhere. thanks in advance r
  12. the audio de sink has made this WAN show into a pod cast. you can still lessen to it in the background but watching it is impossible.
  13. Vessil ID ross06187 Pretty sure this is not the right page for the competition but that page is MIA the one YouTube links too as well as the one in the forum message. So the or a real comment. Are you going to measure vessile success my how much your views drop? as i will probably watch on vessel for at least the fist year, and not YouTube any more as the stuff is newer. Remember people don't care about vessis views but they do for YouTube views . So if it goes too well it might be worse for you in the short term. i support your move though also on a side not this competition is way way too compiiacted. and the junk yard pc are more like a wooden spoon t least for me. i already have spare pc that better than them (ok not gpu). what i am saying they are useless to anyone who already has a pc.
  14. @nicklmg Wait was this a triple g-sync set up? as i though it only worked with 1 monitor or has there been an update.
