  1. I'd love a Blade Stealth to replace my 2010 MacBook Air, trying to play any games on that thing and it falls over! I like the Mac because it's portable and my other laptop is not but it is a bit long in the tooth now.
  2. I was able to last at 5Ghz for a minute of AIDA64 stress tests but I think I need to increase the voltage past 1.42 and lower my RAM speed, so I don't think it is worth it. Now I have mine set to 4.7 Ghz with a 43x cache ratio at 1.280v which has so far been stable on AIDA64 for 3 hours. I didn't really have any problems getting past 4.5, does that mean I did good in the lottery? Temps are around 57c full load with my Cryorig A80 (AIDA64/Cinebench) and 43-50 when playing DOOM or Hitman. I currently have all my fans (including radiator) set to lowest because they barely make any difference to my CPU temp.
  3. I'm happy with my Noctua iPPC 2000RPM PWM fans with my 280mm radiator (Cryorig A80) Very quiet up until 800 RPM, then they will become audible in quiet rooms. I run mine at only 20-40% speed but they never reach 40% because my temps are so low.
  4. Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it with the more hungry benchmarks (full AIDA64) and see if it's worth increasing my radiator fans or not Glad to know nothing is wrong at least
  5. I see, hmm, interesting... I mean I'm very happy with my temps, I was just surprised that making my PC sound like a wind tunnel doesn't really change the temperatures at all Maybe I shouldn't be complaining that my PC is cool, almost silent under full load at lowest RPMs lol
  6. Pump speed is not controllable with this AIO, it's pretty quiet but always at 100% I don't think anything is wrong with the setup but I was expecting 400 RPM vs 1700+ to make a difference, I saw only a 2-3c drop!
  7. Hi, I have 2x Noctua iPPC 2000 pwm fans attached to my radiator and when I put them on full instead of lowest, the temps barely drop. Is something wrong or is this normal? I'm running a 6700k at 4.7ghz with 1.360v using the Cryorig A80 AIO! My temperature gets to 58c max when stressing only the CPU in AIDA64, it gets a few degrees higher if I add the FPU, cache, disk, GPU benches on top.
  8. The extra speed will give you a small gain, the biggest gains will be more cores or efficiency e.g. a 4 Ghz Skylake i7 will run circles around a 4 Ghz Lynnfield. When I say more cores, I mean more cores from the same processor family/generation. An 8 core AMD is probably slower than a 4 core 6700k.
  9. People bashing on Windows 10 while being unaware it's caching and using RAM for a benefit. Would you rather it not uses RAM? Making your purchase pointless? When RAM is needed for other processes the OS will release it. Apple have done this for many years. The more RAM you have the more Windows will use until other programs need it. Such stupidity, not aimed at you OP.
  10. Windows 10 has never crashed for me. If people wanna go back to 7 and lose performance I won't stand in their way though.
  11. If programs and games all scaled very well with frequency you'd get a nice benefit but the reality is they don't. In the case of games you're usually GPU limited.

    Soundcards. Why?

Should also say that my definition of quiet is a little over exaggerated lol, I just felt previously some headphones were unable to be pushed "loud enough" but were definitely enough for general use, but when you did want that extra loudness I couldn't get it from onboard and my previous headphones

    Soundcards. Why?

No I already know about sensitivity, I didn't see the need to go in-depth in this thread. Impedance gets the point across. I've also never had a pair of high impedance headphones that were not quiet un-amped.

    Soundcards. Why?

No I just wanted to use some higher end headphones and my options were a bit limited because most of them had higher impedance

    Soundcards. Why?

It's not a preference if you have high impedance headphones, they are unusable without amps for me because they are very, very quiet otherwise. Like I say for me the price of an OK desktop headphone amp was almost as much as my Xonar Essence STX so the choice was easy
