  1. The guy in the store had one of these and thats how I now the PSU, RAM and GPU are fine.
  2. Backstory: PC stopper working one day cause the power cut for a split second. RMA'd the PSU it was broken, got a new one plugged everything in and still didn't work. Brought everything to a computer shop to test, RAM, GPU and PSU(new) are fine. Motherboard is dead. The guy at the shop said since I plugged it into the fucked motherboard their could be a chance of 'back current' to the PSU. He said that if that is the case then if I buy a new mobo and then plug it in it will kill that mobo. Do you guys know if this is true or not, or any advice? Thanks in advance, I just really don't want to blow a new mobo this situation is after costing me too much already.
  3. At this moment Jamie realized he fucked up. I bought DDR3 :'(
  4. That's what i feared I tested the GPU in a friends and it worked so maybe it didnt fry everything? I'm from Ireland friend I highly doubt you are, but honestly thanks so much dude very generous!
  5. Hi all, Bit of a back story: my custom build that I have had been using for like 7 months just blew last month (power cut for a spilt second) I came back into my room did not smell anything bad but o saw my mouse leds where not lighting and he PC was off, I then tried to turn on the PC with no luck no power what so ever going into the PC. So I got my new PSU today sea sonic ssii 620w (old was XFX 650 ts) and low and be hold no power still going to the PC. I did notice one difference when I flick the power switch the led in my mouse comes on for a spilt second this happens randomly and not all the time when I switch. Scan confirmed that it was a faulty PSU I RMAed so I thought I would be back up and running. I did reapply thermal paste to the CPU but very little so don't think it got onto the chip itself.I breadboarded the machine just there with no luck reassured the CPU 8 pin was connected and 24 pin. So did my PSU take out my motherboard or was it the problem all along?I have a i5 6500 and a r9 390 can you guys recommended me a new motherboard I'm going to order on scan (best customer service around)Sorry for such a long post and thanks in advance RegardsJamie
  6. Thanks for the reply I think I'll use the thermal paste, one more question, I only have 70% iso alcohol wipes. Will they be okay to clean it off ?
  7. Thank you for the reply! I found some cheap thermal paste lying around, I'd just like to know if you know if its any good, HKDS DS330 is the name I think its chinese.
  8. As stated in the title, I sent away my motherboard away because I thought it was broken turns out it wasn't and now I have it back. Since I had to take out the CPU and take off the cooler for RMA. Can I just re use them to test boot to see if everything works? Or do I have to replace the thermal paste? If it matters its the stock cooler for the i5-6500. Thank you in advance!
