My configuration: 3570K 3.4GHz Asrock z77 Extreme 4 Seasonic 760W Platinum G.Skill 2x4GB 1600Mhz Lian Li K62 Alright so, I have 2 Gigabyte R9 280X which I plan on selling one of them. For the sake of this post, I will call them card A and card B. During the course of my problems, I did not crossfire them. Only one card was in my rig at a time. So card B started having problems. - My screen would "glitch" - I saw random pixels on my screen flashing - My screen would completely freeze and the "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" notification would appear - Eventually computer would not power on properly. After the bios screen, the screen would turn black with all mouse and keyboard unresponsive I switched out card B for card A, and everything was smoothe. So I thought there was something definitely wrong with card B. I filed a RMA request and had Gigabyte repair my card. I noticed that they did not tell me what the problem was, or what they fixed. Is this normal? Two weeks later I received card B from Gigabyte. I install card B into my main rig, and behold, the same problem still persist (computer would freeze at a black screen upon bootup). I thought that there's no way Gigabyte could have ignored something like this so easily. I then realized that I've been using the top PCI slot for my cards all this time, and that the problem could have been my motherboard. So I installed card B in the second PCI slot this time and ran 3D mark, and played some games. I've noticed that my card seems OK. I didn't see any of the problems from before. But why did card A not have any problems in the first PCI slot? Could my motherboard be faulty? Thanks!

What about the folks who want to run 2 way crossfire with the 390x cards and don't have enough space for 2 120mm radiators? Do you think the add in board partners will stick with their air cooling solutions?

I recently bought one from massdrop. The leather feels very nice and is stiff enough where your wrists won't sink down into the wristrest. Mine has accented red stitching on the border, so that's a nice touch. Only compliant I have is that the bottom surface is a rubber surface, so the wrist rest tends to slide around. Hey guys, so my friend built a new system and gave me his old asetek cooler for free. He was using a i7 3820, so the mounting bracket is for 2011. I want to be able to use this AIO cooler on my A-10 6800K APU and need help identifying what model asetek this is. Also, are all asetek mounting brackets universal? So I can just buy any asetek mounting kit for FM2 and it should work? Here are some pictures Thanks!

I didn't see any similar topics, but forgive me if there are. I've seen plenty of review for various products, from all kinds of reviewers over the past couple of years. There are some things that I start to notice/pick up over time and it catches my attention every time. Not annoying/irritating, just something I've noticed. Here are some things I've noticed reviewers say and or do: - "as you can see" - "I'm not sure if you can see, but..." - "...and here are the ___ themselves" - The reviewer will only talk about the features of a product Maybe it's just their style, or just the way they talk. What do you guys think? Do you notice these things? Are you guys bothered by it? Or do you just don't care as long as the review has great substance.

Depends what type of "nerdiness" you are aiming for. Anime, gaming, audiophile,electrical engineer, developer, DIY, model builder?

What is the voting based on? EDIT: ah nevermind, I didn't read. Both are good enough if not a little overkill for everyday tasks (if you define every day task as browsing the web, checking email, and other light work stuff). I say the 280 is better for gaming vs his gtx 760

I checked out the Fostex and HOLY MONKEY.... there's a lot of mods for those cans http://www.head-fi.org/a/fostex-t50rp-modification-summary-links-wiki The price is well within my budget of < $200, but the mods required just seems like a big turn off for me. I owned a sony MDR NC60 before and hated that the drivers would press against my ears...the MDR 7506 looks like it uses the same style earcups.

TLDR; Sennheiser 380Pro was painfully uncomfortable, could use recommendations for new headphones This post is about my experience with the Sennheiser 380 Pro. Any recommendations for next pairs of cans are appreciated. Otherwise, lets get this rant started! I'll start by sharing my music taste. I listen to a lot of orchestra music such as the ones found in movie scores. Like Hans Zimmerman, James Horner, Hiroyuki Sawano. Rock, R&B and Soul are also in there somewhere. My favorite game to play is the DJ MAX series. I watch movies/anime on my computer and I occasionally like to play the game of "lets see if I can tell which is the .flac or .mp3". So I bought the 380Pro sometime within the last two years during black Friday. I did not do much research other than finding a decent brand, then which headphones fitted my price of < $200. I heard people talk proudly of Sennheiser, AKG and Audio Technica, so I blindly picked the one that appealed to me the most. The 380Pro was $200, and when I saw it for $140, I hastily jumped the gun and bought it. First impressions: it was really plastic-y and light. The tilted oval shaped of the ear cups were fantastic. They were big enough to cover my entire ear without putting weight on the top of my ears. I also noticed that the clamp force was ridiculously strong. Meh, I'll get used to it. I wasn't sure how I felt about the cushions. They seemed rather tough and retract quickly back to its original position after I pressed down on them. The cord was nice and coiled up, which did not get in my way. Compact carrying case was a nice addon. Now I don't have to worry about damaging the pair of cans when I travel or go to lan parties. I'm using Creative Sound Blaster x-fi Titanium HD, and sound quality was great (this is coming from an amateur). Bass was booming, highs were clear and mids were decent. Now, onto my major gripe. I read that some headphones need time to "break in" before the headphones become comfortable. After the first year, the clamp force was still just too strong. I've tried to decrease the clamp force by setting random objects between the ear cups in hope of stretching them out. Yeah...that didn't go very well. The clamp force was just too unbearable after extended periods of usage. To give you some perspective, it feels as if someone is pushing against both of my temples simultaneously. I would become lightheaded after 1-2 hour gaming sessions. Additionally, I suspect that these headphones give me simulator sickness or actually worsen my simulator sickness. I sold the 380Pro and now I'm eye-ing the HD 558 since I've heard they are extremely comfortable and sound similar to the 380Pros with less emphasis on the bass.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I will most likely reseat and reapply the thermal paste worst case scenario. But it does seem silly that HW is showing 91C, so I'll probably use Asus's AI Suite II as reference from now on.

My system never crashed or anything. If it helps to know, I'm using a Bitfenix Prodigy-M case, where the motherboard is inverted. I have two 120mm fans on top as intake and one 200mm fan on the bottom + one 140mm fan on the bottom rear as exhaust. The setup sounds unusual, but that's just how the config of the case is.

I'm playing Resident Evil 6 with max settings. So here's what HW Monitor is showing Here's AI Suite II from Asus I'm running a AMD A10-6800K @ stock clock I have a Zalman CNPS 10x Optima. 91 degrees just sounds ridiculous @ stock clock. I just wanted a confirmation from you guys. Is HW Monitor just giving me false readings? Thanks!

Set up a virtual machine or test bench and let them take over it. It'll be fun.

My only complaint: stop making laptops with sealed batteries.
