  1. Hey guys, so i've reset the PC and it's worked! Everything is thankfully where it should be and working again, thanks for the tips guys!
  2. thanks for the help guys, i'm going to try resetting the pc and see if that fixes it
  3. i've tried but every time i try it sits there and does nothing even though i've confirmed i have permission and it still denies
  4. yeah im set as administrator but they keep refusing to move
  5. It doesn't work and keeps saying access denied when i try to restore defaults
  6. Yeah, some of them move but when i try to move the pictures folder which is D\\ it says that the access is denied
  7. So i've recently built my first proper gaming pc and i'm using a 120GB SSD as a boot and a 1TB HDD as storage. I was trying to relocate my library folders from the SSD to the HDD so i would have more space and i think i've irreversibly screwed it up. This is what it looks like currently, my pictures folder has become my D: drive and my documents folder is in the Jonathan file somewhere. It won't let me restore the pictures file to default and the other folders don't seem to want to move much. Is it worth just resetting my PC (the only thing i've installed is google chrome so i'm not losing anything of value) to get the files back to their original settings and locations? I don't tend to keep much in my library folders so having them on my SSD isn't too big a deal but i would like to put Steam onto the HDD because of the large size of games and whatnot (not having it on the SSD doesn't bother me that much).
  8. OK so sorry if this post is a bit long but i'll try to keep it as concise as possible. I'm currently in the waiting period before i start my build and i have a few questions about having an SSD and a HDD, coming from someone who has only ever used a build that has one hard drive. So my build has a 120GB SSD and a 1TB HHD for storage and i'm planning on using the SSD as a boot drive and the HDD for everything everything else. My current pc is a laptop with a 1TB HDD and i'd like to transfer all the data from it to my new PC (mainly for save data on steam games and personal files, most of the programmes i can re-download), would this be possible? I'd like to have my HDD as my default storage (like where the Downloads, Videos and Folders section are) and have that be the location of the system files, or would the Program Files x86 and those other files be in the SSD? It might make it a bit more complicated because i'd be going from windows 8.1 to windows 10.
  9. Thanks for the advice guys, i'll probably stick with it for a while and then upgrade to an actual monitor after i've got the actual pc sorted, it does run at 1080p which is what i'm aiming for but an upgrade to an actual monitor would probably be best
  10. So i'm planning my first proper PC build (i've been on a laptop for the last few years) and i don't have a monitor for it, mainly because i have a 24 inch lg tv which i use with my PS4. Would i be ok using the tv as a monitor until i can save up for a good monitor? When i use it as a second screen for my laptop the colours and quality are different so i was thinking an actual monitor might be better?
  11. Well i'm currently still using my laptop and working on my first PC build. It's using an AMD Radeon 7670 and it gets so hot that i've burnt my hand while playing DayZ before, which was when i decided it was time to actually build a good pc rather than rely on this old thing
