  1. Still, it would show black bars on the side, not top and bottom.
  2. Hey everyone, I need some help. I've recently got an old monitor from my sister (Samsung SyncMaster p2370) and have a weird problem. I've hooked it up to my GPU (Zotac Geforce 1060 3gb) and discovered it only displays resolution up to 1024x768 (4:3 resolution on a 16:9 screen with max res of 1920x1080). So I started doing some tests. I hooked it up to the integrated gpu via DVI-D cable (single channel) - no signal. Dual channel DVI - the same. When I connected it with the dual channel cable into my dedicated gpu new resolution options showed up but they were still not the proper ones (1280x1024 was the highest one, so 4:3 again). I tried to create custom resolution in the nvidia panel. 1920x1080 didn't work at all, but 1440x900 did. But when I select it, the screen looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/ocF1d (the white rectangle is the outline of the screen). So it displays a widescreen resolution with black bars on the top and bottom, and in the menu of the display it says that it's displaying in 1024x768. Now the funny thing is - I connected it with a vga cable to my integrated gpu using a dvi converter - all proper widescreen resolutions are there!. I can kinda confirm that my gpu and hookups work because I used an old dell 4:3 monitor to check and it worked fine in all cases. So it seems that analog signal on this monitor works just fine but digital is screwed up. Had any of you encountered such a problem and if you did - have you managed to find a solution, or is it just busted? Edit: Just to make sure I've given you all the info I can - I've updated my gpu drivers and downloaded drivers for the monitor from Samsung site.
  3. Hello! It's my first post on this forum so please go easy on me :3 While searching the web I've been hit with conflicting information on this topic. I have a Chieftec GPS-600A8 psu which powers an i5 4460 and 16gb of ddr3 ram. It used to power my old geforce 9600gt but after years of service it finally died. I'm planning on upgrading my GPU (on a budget) and r9 290 seems like an interesting choice. Will my PSU be enough? Or is it safer to go with something lighter (like getting more money and buying a gtx 970 or 1060)?
  4. I'd like to upgrade because the card I'm using is an old GF 9600 GT with 512 mb of ram. It doesn't even support Overwatch
