So my Dad got a new laptop from his work. We did some investigating and it looks like it has some Skylake i7, 16 gigs of RAM, and a Quadro M1000M.

Specs look pretty decent...but what about that GPU?

Anyone know anything? I was thinking we might play a few games together, now that he has a decent PC...but "1000" usually isn't a good number for Quadro...

Quadro M1000M is on par with Radeon HD 6870 and GTX 470.  (Source: NotebookCheck)

No gaming on it, then, I'm guessing.

It's not awful for gaming, but you'd definitely want something better.

Oh geez!  Yeah I guess it sucks. :/

The laptop actually has a 6820HQ with HD Graphics 530...what the fuck? Why would they even bother including that GPU, then?

One word: money.  Having a dedicated GPU makes a laptop sound better to a lot of people.  Not everyone understands computers like we do. :P
