  1. Is it a vmdk hard disk image? Why do you want to burn your VM to a USB if I may ask?
  2. If you want a dedicated remote, go for the Android TV. If not, then go for the chromecast. I personally have a chromecast v1 and love it. I can ask my google home to turn on my tv and stream things with it as well.
  3. Sure! Once the computer crashes again I'll grab the dmesg logs.
  4. I'll try that and get back soon. Totally forgot Wayland is default now!
  5. Okay got a crash and got some logs. Syslog is pointing to Xorg so I'm gonna post both logs. Syslog: Xorg log: I'm also working on uploading some files to show. This time after the freeze the audio started to show signs of X-runs occuring (Some sort of buffer error causing repeating audio) and eventually the audio stopped. The num lock was froxen since the keyboard is owned by Xorg but the kernel was still somewhat intact since SysRQ still reponded. Brb with the files. EDIT: Here are the files. Audio: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nXs7XUMjJgpQRr936vHeMMUBJsMrydzj/view?usp=sharing Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ShXNZAeIEUwPPqhG-HFpBVsfgFovd8jV/view?usp=sharing
  6. Hm, what is the GPU? You probably have enough power going to the Graphics card. Also how old is the power supply?
  7. I'm also currently evaluating the first problem on my Ubuntu PC. For me, it seems to be my power supply being very underpowered. What is your power supply? It is definitely a freeze, but I wouldn't call it a "crash" since if the audio is still playing the kernel is still executing code. (Somewhat at least.. )
  8. Okay I can do that. What logs should I look through? Xorg, kernel, or another? Also any specifics to point out. I do have a feeling your right though. I looked through the kernel log and right at the time of the freeze it has a lot of "NVIDIA-GPU" monitors disconnecting and reconnecting errors. I'm gonna add logs in a sec.. EDIT: Logs got wiped for being too old, gonna wait for next freeze then update.
  9. I installed the latest Nvidia proprietary drivers. I think they are like 387 but I'm away from the PC right now. It is the ddr5 version with 2gb vram
  10. 305W Power supply and I am unsure where to look to find out the PCIe max volatge / Wattage.
  11. I'm a cheapo so I use Blender, I know it isn't the best option but i prefer it over Windows Movie Maker since, ya know, Ubuntu doesn't have that.
  12. Oh yeah, linux is very passive but windows is a pain in the ass with multibooting. It wants to be the one and only! And if you are going to install a bootloader separately, then yeah, no reason for the prober.
  13. Personally I'd try to get the files off the dead HDD somehow (Idk how since you said it was dead but u could get files off) but other than that I wouldn't know about the HP install disk I'd probably contact HP to get details about it.
  14. It's hard to say since each os has a different way of handling OS bootloaders. The rest of this post is me speaking about UEFI not BIOS!! I know that linux will make GRUB2 the default but not override the other EFI-boot files. Windows I'm not sure about but I know it has tried to erase my linux install before for one reason or another. I booted windows 10, used it, rebooted into linux and it had a corrupted filesystem so I nuked Windows 10 from my PC permanently... Really when installing OS'es in multiboot It's hard to say since you need the SSD/HDD plugged in for the OS Prober to find them and add them to its own bootloader.
