  1. As the title says, just looking for some information, if i were to lose the "lottery" what could I expect? It's going to be hooked up to a 280mm custom loop all to itself, i'm also willing to delid it. FYI I live in Australia so ambient temps can get pretty high. Basically all 7 of the builds I've built for friends in the past have all lost the lottery, atleast according to what's stable to people on the internet, so I have pretty low expectations.
  2. I wouldn't say it's bad, but electromigration is a thing and will eventually be the death of the computer components. However unless you plan on passing the computer down for generations the only thing keeping it on 24/7 will hurt is your power bill.
  3. Finally! http://noctua.at/en/home-product/nf-a20-pwm
  4. Lowering the clock will not, but lowering the voltage will. However that only accounts for electromigration being the key reason your cpu dies, If it dies later down the line because of a bad psu, motherboard, powersurge, etc, which is much more likely, then undervolting it wouldn't have done anything but caused you to deal with a slower computer for however long it was before the thing that killed it.
  5. For anybody about to buy some 200mm fans i just got an email back from noctua support asking if/ when 200mm fans will ever be released and he replied with " thank you very much for contacting Noctua!I'm happy to tell you, that we will release the 200mm fan in Q1 / 2017. So it's going to be there soon. :-)". I tried googling to see if there was any other news on their release dates and as far as i can see this is the first they have given an answer. So hold onto your hats! I would of posted this in the "news and reviews" section but i don't really have any sources other than this email.
  6. I think all 1080's have coil whine, both the EVGA FTW 1080 and the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming 1080 have coil whine when i tested them. Weirdly i noticed it gets more high pitched the more frames you are getting. When i first boot up Doom and are getting 3000 fps while its loading its insanely high pitched, but running heaven its more mid ranged as far as coil whine goes.
  7. So long as the cards are working as they always have there isn't much point in downgrading the drivers. I'd say unless something happens stick with the latest ones, and even if something does happen try reinstalling the latest drivers before giving up all hope and going to an older one.
  8. I might end up doing bends, however this build: http://imgur.com/a/TEFWD i assume is very similar to what i'll end up with, just different colors. And that looks so nice to me.
  9. I'm definitely in the minority however i'm looking at some builds with the fittings i chose and i thought they were smaller. They don't blend in and look as sleek as i thought they would, i'm taking them off the list. And about the tacky thing, it's not really bent tubing i don't like, if i can pull off a really sharp turn with a bend that a fitting does that will look just as good in my eyes, but i don't know if that's even possible.
  10. Thanks for the reply, i can get my hands on a heat gun if need be but i planned on using the 90 degree fittings for the corners as i don't really like the way bends look. (I do realize i will probably have to bend a little to compensate for depth) The cart is a bit hard to read but that's a total of 5 meters of tubing i have there, sounds like a lot to me, but not enough? I'll have a look into a drain port, i didn't even think of that thanks, however i did wonder how the hell you're supposed to fill it. I have got 2 of those 360mm radiators in the cart so 120mm for my cpu 120mm for gpu and that's 480mm left. If you still think that's not enough i could add some thicker ones, i just didn't want to run into any compatibility issues.
  11. So this is my first custom loop and i've decided if i'm going to spend this much money i'd like to do it right so i'm going with hard tubing. I kind of just need help with the parts, i think i've got everything i want/need: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/wn4 But i just don't know if i have enough coolant/ tubing/ fittings. And is the pump powerful enough with all the 90 degree turns i'll be doing and the length of the loop? (I think bent hard tubes look tacky) Just incase you wanted to know this will be cooling a 5820k and a evga ftw 1080, but it's more for looks. If you see something on that list that pops out to you as stupid/silly please point it out, this is a very work in progress list.
  12. Try before buy. I use steam refund now.
  13. I've never used a projector before but this one looks great.
