  1. What do you mean by "they tend to be really , really big compared to what you expected" Haha! I would have said the opposite unless your wording is just confusing... a 34" ultrawide is the same size as a standard 27" for video consumption. I think a 27" 1440p is the sweet spot between size, price and performance. Its the perfect resolution with no need to scale for desktop use and great for gaming if you're planning to upgrade your GPU in the near future, although, depending on the game you'll be able to run 1440p no problem with a 290x. This would be my recommendation: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009769 Its 1440p, 1ms response time, 144Hz with FreeSync (now a viable option again with the introduction of RX Vega). All the features you need, all for $400, although you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
  2. I have a rift, but can only use it for about an hour at a time before my eyes go weird. Monitors don't cause the same fatigue. It's all personal preference I suppose.
  3. Having used a triple monitor setup before, I wouldn't recommend it. It's way too finicky, with extremely poor support from devs. I now have an ultrawide and it's so much better! The only time I'd consider multi monitors would be for racing sims. As far as the card is concerned, it really depends on the game. 3 1080p is 3/4 of 4K. The 1070 would do it, but I'd recommend a 1080 or 1080Ti.
  4. Not sure if they really want to go that route at the moment, they're too busy showing us extreme overkill tech that we can only dream about But there are plenty of other channels that cover this in a more step by step manner. You should check out Paul's Hardware or Bitwit, they both go quite in depth with the actual build process.
  5. No wonder I couldn't find what you were talking about I'm not talking about product reviews. I'm talking about videos discussing certain technologies and how different things affect others or just about random tech. Reviews are only a small part of the channel these days.
  6. More light = more power used. Otherwise, it would defy the laws of physics. (using the same tech obviously)
  7. The TechQuickie one is easy to find because it's pinned, but other than that I can only find random posts about individual video suggestions. I'm sure I'm just blind, but also, I'm sure I'm not the only one... @LinusTech Could we get a similar post pinned for main channel video suggestions?
  8. I've had a look and can't see one. But a section where we could post about video suggestions could be beneficial. It could give you some great ideas for what us the viewers want to see? Love all your content though, by far my favour tech channel.
  9. Yea I agree! If you're looking for an ultra portable. Really nice way to go, best of both worlds! If you're looking for a budget laptop though, You'll only be getting an i5 7200u, which would hamper the performance of an eGPU. Then once you factor in the price of the eGPU and the graphics card itself, it makes no sense financially or performance wise. May as well just get a gaming laptop to begin with. But this however "laptop with atleast quard core cpu, having good cooling solution and have ram expansion option." He's just describing a gaming laptop
  10. What are you trying to achieve here? Gaming on a budget while still needing a laptop for work? Or high end gaming at home with portability for work?
  11. All the Dell Inspiron series use dual core processors apart from the 7000 gaming line.
  12. Anything with a Quad core will likely be a gaming laptop anyway. (pretty much all cheap/portable laptops use U series processors which are dual core. And you'd be better off with something cheaper than the Razer Core, way overpriced.
  13. +1 Also, you can get OEM windows way cheaper than that!
