  1. -> try downloading this software and run it http://www2.ati.com/drivers/auto/autodetectutility.exe It is AMD´s autodetect tool, it should install the neccessary drivers. HP Notebook with AMD stuff in it... that is pretty bad for the end user. HP´s driver support is crap, sometimes it seems they don´t even know what they are using in their products. And AMD´s drivers are a mess... At least in the mobile section, had some problems with my AMD powered machine some weeks ago, newest drivers did not want to work at all, had to install some ancient ones to make it work with win 8.1...
  2. I won´t judge you for trying, but i allready did and it´s not working... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort Quote: The DisplayPort LVDS signal protocol is not compatible with DVI or HDMI. However, Dual-mode DisplayPorts are designed to transmit a single-link DVI or HDMI 1.2/1.4 TMDS protocol across the interface through the use of an external passive adapter that selects the desired signal and converts it from 3.3 volts to 5 volts. Analog VGA and dual-link DVI require powered active adapters to convert the protocol and signal levels and do not rely on Dual-Mode. VGA adapters are powered by the DisplayPort connector, while dual-link DVI adapters may rely on an external power source (see Dual-mode).[6] In other Words... the displayport can output HDMI signals with a passive converter, whereas the HDMI source can not output on Displayport. Therefore it will not work, unless you´ll use an active converter.
  3. Because reasons... i don´t know. Displayport is somewhat different. HDMI source to displayport Monitor doesn´t work Displayport source to HDMI Monitor does work. Didn´t know that until i had an hdmi to displayport cable and tried to hook a laptop to a dp-monitor... it just does nothing... not even the windows-something-is-plugged-in-sound plays. The other way around works fine...
  4. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/180-0782913-4054313?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=displayport+male+hdmi+female Just as a heads up, if your source is using hdmi it wont work to put out something on displayport. sry... messed it up
  5. Quick googling suggests to set the System sounds back to default... kinda funny if this is really the solution. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-update/the-extended-attributes-are-inconsistent-come-up/129b7935-2da2-47b2-8b4d-e8b581e12b54?page=2
  6. Well.. that´s for you to decide. Faster write speed or longer warranty. I personally think i would go for speed, because reasons that lie beyond my understanding... i just like fast stuff Realisticly, 180mb/s would fine if you copy from a HDD to the SSD, although it will make your life possibly a little bit slower when you unzip or install stuff... btw. found this benchmark shot of the Intenso.
  7. Sadly enough i did not, i wanted to do so, but i ran out of time. You know, work and stuff. But judging on the boot time read speeds should be absolutely fine, especially for the low price.
  8. No one, as this was tried before and everyone who did it was out of luck... There are two ways of handling this... Either you read the article that is linked here and understand whats going on with Harddrive sizes, or you just continue being angry and salty about all the GB´s you allready lost and will loose in the future... Your decision...
  9. I built that into the new pc of the parents of one my buddies some weeks ago. So far no complaints... Clean windows 7 install starts in about 8 Seconds (POST screen to Desktop) with Celeron G1840 and 8Gb of DDR3 1333 Ram. No long-term experience of how it does though.
  10. There are some tools out there that can help you as long as there is at least one local account on the machine. I don´t want to link to anything specific, as this might be considered hacking and against the CoC (?) With Windows 7 you should be able to do a password reset from the command line, when you boot from an installation disk and go for the repair options.
  11. Exactly that. Some companys tend to keep their crappy old stuff until it breaks, because what could possibly go wrong? Six weeks ago i had a call from a customer who´s old linux server broke down... Physical machine, from around 2006, ran pretty much 24/7 -> dead NIC, dead raid controller, the fans made a weird clicking noise... That guy was pretty happy when his crap was fixed, and instantly ordered a conversion to a virtual machine because that thing was somewhat critical for the money income... I asked him why he didn´t switch over earlier -> because it´s too expensive... yeah, because if i hadn´t been able to fix that thing it would not have become expensive
  12. Actually, there is a way to do this. I just tried out of curiosity and it worked, although it´s not best practice and i would absolutely not recommend doing it this way. Just createad a vm (vmware player), assigned a physical drive with an empty 80GB partition to the VM and did a clean install of win7 inside the vm on the empty partition, created a win7 usb install drive on the side. Did not start from the disk at first, did not find any operating system. The automatic repair options determined 1 error and allegedly fixed it, but it seems like it did nothing at all, error stayed. When i set the Volume as active with diskpart and tried to boot from the HDD it said bootmgr is missing. Once again, the automatic repair claimed to repair that, but it did not. So, back to the command line -> bootrec /fixboot That did the trick for me... win7 actually did boot up, automatically searched and installed almost all missing drivers, i did not try anything else from here.
  13. I have that exact same feeling with my daytona. Your bike looks like it is really in good condition, that is so hard to find...
  14. Sometimes later ist better... i got my motorcycle license at age 28... i´m guessing if i got it some years earlier, i would´ve most likely had killed myself... Supermoto/dirtbike would be my weapon of choice for the 250-350 CC class. Lightweight, easy to handle, good torque and lots of fun...
  15. Hey guys... it´s winter in germany, it´s wet, it´s cold, it sucks... I want to ride my bike again, Triumph Daytona 675: When i got it, back in 2009: What it looks now  Things that i did: Headlight color conversion, LED-Blinkers, nice levers, rim stripes, powder coated footrests, Arrow exhaust, some carbon parts, custom license plate holder... Nothing over the top, but that´s the way i like it... decent changes that make it look better. My bike that ran great for 1200km´s (about 800 Miles) Suzuki Dr 350: Looked crappy, but it was fun... Did a complete rebuilt of the enginge with tune up: Bigger bore, higher compression CP-Piston, bigger carburator, racing air cleaner, racing header+exhaust, cylinder head a little bit optimized, stage one cams... it ran good, until a valve just broke out of nowhere and completely killed the engine Cylinder head, and yes... that valve was stuck in there when i took it apart... Piston: I need a dual sport again in the future... that thing was fun What do you guys ride? What do you want to ride? Where do you like to ride? How do you like to ride? (with my daytona, i just like to go out there on the twistys, and let it rip for some hours... gets my head straight. With the DR it was just pure fun to cruise through the city or on dirt roads) Do you like to work on your bikes? Changes that you made to your bike, for looks or performance? Would you like to ride more? I certainly would... but stupid work has eaten up almost all the time i got last year, or the weather was just plain bad... only got through one set of tires... Let´s get this thing going until the weather is good enough to get out there again.
