  1. Yo, so I smoke a lot of janga, and sometimes I get really stoned and try to argue about things of little import on the internet. I think I was listening to the original gta 4 theme track, and wanted to write my thoughts on the game for some reason. At least it happened on page 86 of a mostly dead thread (I hope) so I feel a bit less silly. Actually wait, I might have also copy and pasted two seperate things I wrote to the wrong chatbox, so I might have just ended a fairly serious discussion on a very strange note about call of duty.
  2. That ain't a confession yo, that's just your opinion and shit. Either game is good in its own right (criticize gta 4 port all you like though), and stride to give a different experience. Just Cause is an action b-movie shoved into an actually good game with cool mechanics and says go blow shit up. GTA (4 at least, cant speak about the others for not having played them, except for san andreas which was year 6 and 7 of my life) on the other hand wants to introduce you to a more realistic world, it's theme being a bit more grim and philosophical about the events and choices that happen.
  3. Damn, I typed in tor and comcast into the search to see if there was something, guess I missed it. That mean this gets deleted right away then? EDIT: I went and read that thread, but nothing there included anything related to my link. I wanted to talk about the fact that they weren't actually discouraging people by telling them to outright stop using tor, because they didn't. The thread gave me giggles, but it was just about monkeys throwing shit towards comcasts' way without really much discussion. We already knew that they gave info to government agencies, and now we know it's a lie that they are trying to stop people from using tor.
  4. Haha, yeah, that was what I thought was dubious. Although, I will always believe they are greedy bastards who would go for something like 5mb broadband, I think it might be plausible that they are giving away information on the basis of the law that basically was the reason that lavabit went down. They got served and couldn't do anything about, perhaps if they had taken the apple route of just not storing or caring about our info in the first place, this wouldn't be an issue. Then again, I might be giving them to much credit in terms of altruism.
  5. So in this weeks latest WAN show, Linus and Luke talk about how Comcast discourages users from browsing using Tor. While I'm not a staunch defender of any of these companies, I'd like to point out an announcement in which Comcast addresses this topic. Here is their site with this announcement: http://corporate.comcast.com/comcast-voices/setting-the-record-straight-on-tor In short, they say they don't actually do that (along with other claims that seem a bit dubious to say the least), and I myself (although, yes this is anecdotal evidence) haven't gotten any calls for me to stop using the browser. So I was wondering, where did the claims come from that they did, and why exactly would one says this (other than to troll of course).
  6. It's proposed gimmick interests me as someone who played halo 2 and 3 back in the day, toxikk is also said to be similar to ut and hl in style also, I think it will be a jumbly mess. However, like a homemade burger, it will be an awesome jumbly mess.
  7. I'm just waiting for the next treyarch call of duty considering I think they have the best games in the series. Then again, CoD itself is old as hell and to gain my traction again, I'd need to see some pretty stellar innovation. Even titanfall couldn't hold me and they did the farthest I think they could have gone with it without just having it be completely crazy (which might have worked tbh)
  8. I play a bit of WoW, so does my best friend, so we fish and rp occasionally. I am the cowman on the left, had a race change from belf, and now I feel at home on him. Over 76 days on that one character I have spent, and now I play an orc lock for giggles.
  9. I have a BenQ xl2420t, and it runs 120hz. I configured it to run that everywhere that it can. So I've been using it for half a year already and I went to try and test 60hz and I feel like it was comparing 60hz to 30hz. I'm not trolling or some nonsense, it really just feels that way after being adjusted to 120hz for so long. EDIT : OMG my first like I feel so special. Oh, and in reference to my comment, I say that also as a person who spent the first three quarters of their gaming life on xbox with 30fps. I've gotten adept at this sort of stuff, but to be honest I think I can eventually just get used to 60hz (even though I dont want), but never again at 30, that's just plain unacceptable.
  10. 110 if I can. I just want to see my gun yo. Not holding it up to my temple, down where my arms are, where it makes sense.
  11. Hi, my name's Anton. I think those who may drop by to help me out know what the error message from windows that I used as my title means to a computer user. Without further ado, I'd like to rid myself of this life long curse and finally be happy. Specifications of my computer build: Operating System: Windows 8, 64-bit. Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Formula (Bios Version: 1903) Central Processing Unit: Intel i7 3770k (No overclocking) Graphics Processing Unit: Asus GTX Titan (No overclocking) (Geforce Driver: 337.5) Power Supply Unit: Thermaltake TR2 RX 1200W Storage Unit: OCZ RevoDrive 3, PCI-Express SSD 240gb (174.9gb used) The Deal: So I enjoy playing video games. I play them in all sorts of different colors and sizes. However one issue stops me from doing so, and as a result I can't have the fun I bought for thousands of dollars : /. It's difficult for me to tell you step by step what happens, but I'll do my best. I start up the game, and for the first few seconds in game I'm fine (I am able to navigate things such as main menus and such), however ranging from a 5 seconds to 15 minutes of gameplay, the game freezes (the sounds that just happened recur annoyingly), the screen goes black, and then it all goes back to normal with the exception of a little windows error in the bottom right corner of my screen telling me exactly what my title is: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. It tells me the name of the driver, and then promptly disappears expecting me to understand any of the nonsense that just transpired. Before I go on about the solutions I have attempted, I would like to add extra information about what happens. During these crashes, an interesting thing happens to my gpu usage percent. After the deed, I immediately go to MSI afterburner and check temperatures to see they are nominal and that my fan speeds correspond in the ways I have them loaded, but the one outstanding thing is that during the time of the crash, the gpu usage percent sky-rockets to 99% and that's when the game crashes. By no means have I been trying to run Crysis 3 downsampling 4k (which I have actually been able to do in the past, it was fun), this particular issue persists in all games, but the ones Iv'e been playing aren't exactly gpu intensive, especially for my titan (The three main ones are World of Warcraft, Planetside 2, and Fistful of Frags). Another issue that sometimes occurs in the same time period as the crash, and is directly correlated, is that the msi afterburner application turns off (This is most likely due the driver crashing, therefore putting my gpu into the state where it's not loading anything, which in turn causes the application to believe there isn't any graphics card. I'm no expert, but I wanted to apply as much information as possible.). Failed Fixes: Driver Reinstallation. Operating System Reinstallation Motherboard Bios Flash. Firmware updates to ssd. 100% GPU Fan usage 100% CPU Fan usage Underclocks Overclocks Regedits (TdrDelay and TdrLevel, both kinds of values) Lowering in game graphics settings Playing around with 3d settings and resolution settings in Nvidia control panel. Geforce Experience game optimizations Yelling Profusely Malware and antivirus scans (Malwarebytes and Windows Defender) Motherboard/Graphics Card/CPU/everything reseats Thermal compound reapplications Power Management set to all three kinds Different Operating Systems (Namely 32-bit Win8, and both kinds of Win7Ultimate) Putting GPU into different systems Oh God: Thanks in advance to anyone who helps, and if you read this and decide not to, I don't blame you. I really, really hope this doesn't mean a new piece of hardware. EDIT: Well I don't know what I was expecting, good bye, cruel world. : /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
  12. Any other thoughts? There are few places I could go left without having to pay a professional, which I really, really don't want to do.
  13. Perhaps we can keep going over those basics you were talking about?
