  1. My mom asked if she needs an antivirus, and while I don't use one, I realized it would prob be a good idea for her to have one? I can't think of any off the top of my head that aren't kinda scammy tho Any recommendations on a good one?
  2. I'm with Princess on this one. I have a i7-6700k and it handles Premiere just fine. If you're having issues with playing footage in the timeline it's usually b/c of the codec your footage is in. You want a high bit rate codec, Prores, DNxHR, and GoPro Cineform are good codecs and industry standards for editing. If your footage isn't in this codec natively, you can use Premiere's Proxy settings to transcode it automatically. If you really want to upgrade, I'd wait for Zen 2 or Intel to release a new architecture.
  3. Not even sure how to pronounce Cyclopes, Sigh-klo-pez? Maybe a shortened version like Cyclo?
  4. I recently built my first website, and I thought that now would be a good time to learn about this. Can someone explain DNS records or link me to a good place to learn about them?
  5. I think that's a problem with the gaming culture that can be solved rather than an issue with the business model itself. Ubuntu devs aren't having such big issues.
  6. Is the Bethesda's Games Workshop a modding tool or a mod marketplace? I may be thinking of the Creation Club I saw mentioned elsewhere in this thread. I didn't follow the news about that very closely.
  7. I think Asus Killer is more questioning the legality of third parties charging for mods rather than the morality.
  8. Exactly, it's DLC that the Game developer doesn't have to pay employees to make. DRM-Protected mods is essentially shitty Bethesda's games workshop thing.
  9. That sounds like a slippery slope towards DRM-Protected mods.

  11. Lather it in your hands and slap it on with the might of Zeus
  12. Pretty much all tv shows and movies are in 24 or 30fps a 144hz monitor wouldn't do the framerate equivalent of "checkerboard upscaling" to stuff that's already been encoded.
  13. Even if WAN Show wasn't at a higher bitrate I'd want it here just so I can download it without going through a bunch of crappy third party sites with ads that look like the ones on TPB.
  14. I understand your @LinusTech comment, but the comment for @nicklmg I think is kind of unwarranted. You seem to think that an update on the status of a video release that takes 10-15mins to write is over stressing him. If Media Encoder got drunk and drew a bunch of dicks on my project, I would make a post saying why the video is gonna be late while I tap my foot waiting for Media encoder to get his shit together.
