  1. Yeah, I consulted the SSD tier list on the forum, and I bought a WD Blue.
  2. What do you mean by "enabled"? Isn't it a thing that I just have to do once in a while? Or do you mean have it scheduled?
  3. The only way I'm thinking of that it died besides being faulty is that it's directly under my graphics card, so it may have overheated, which is not a concern now as I bought a SATA ssd.
  4. Hi! Last week, my Silicon Power a34p60 NVMe ssd died. It's write protected, won't boot, and will only allow me to copy from it. I bought a new SSD, and now I want to be sure: Did I do something wrong with it? I know SSDs have a limited amount of total data you could write to it, but as I understand it, you shouldn't reach it, especially only after 18 months. Now I was kind of careless with it, uninstalling and installing games left and right, but I feel like there is still no way I got even close to the rated data written. So was the SSD faulty (I googled the model and saw 2 other people who had theirs fail prematurely, too) or was I too careless with it? I want to make sure it doesn't happen to my new SSD. Thanks!
  5. Interesting. Well then, I'll give it a try. Thanks for all your help!
  6. So I guess it is dead... I understand that it's write protected in order to let me copy as much stuff as I can from it before it bites the dust, but I can't access my user folder, where most of my stuff is, and I can't change the owner of the folder because the drive is write protected. Do you know of any way that I can access it? No way that I have googled has worked
  7. Wouldn't it have given a SMART error of some kind? And software says, ironically, that the drive is ok
  8. Hi! I desperately need your help A week ago, my computer crashed with a BSOD, the first I ever had. Ever since then, I couldn't boot into windows. I tried reinstalling windows, tried bringing other drives with windows (which worked, to an extent), but I couldn't change anything on the drive, only read from it, until it had enough and said "the path specified does not exist" or something like that, thus making me unable to access folders I have not yet opened (if I did open a folder before, I could still access it). After seeking help here, people said that the drive is probably faulty. So I gave up and bought a new SSD. Reinstalled windows, and it works. I tried accessing the old drive, and still same thing. I can access all folders (except my user folder) until it has enough and "shuts down". After it shuts down though, if I restart to the bios the SSD is not recognized, and will only be recognized if I shut down the PC and turning it back on. i tried software so check for corruption and errors, but it doesn't finish, and I suspect the drive "shuts down" before it could finish. If I didn't try accessing it in the file explorer before the checkup, the whole drive will be deemed "the path does not exist" and I can't see anything about the drive. Please help me figure out what it is. Is it just a dead drive? Could it be the M.2 slot? (the new SSD I bought is SATA). And could I do anything about it? Or should I just throw it away? Any help is appreciated!
  9. The default OS that I had is windows 10, but the drive is probably dead/dying. In anyway, can't boot to windows 10. Now I brought this drive with the windows 7, but I don't have the drivers. So how can install new drivers without keyboard and mouse?
  10. The problem is that I can't boot to anything. So how should I go about installing new drivers, let alone remove the old ones?
  11. Oh you mean the drivers for the motherboard? If I have the drivers for windows 10 it doesn't work with 7? And if I install it will it delete the windows 10 drivers?
  12. Hi! First, I apologize if I misworded the title, I'm not fully knowledgeable in this field. Anyway, my SSD probably died 2 days ago. I can't boot to windows, can't reinstall windows, and all I could do was copy things off of it, but other than that it was write protected and I couldn't cancel it in any way. Now, I brought an old hard drive which has Windows 7 on it, so I could at least boot. The drive didn't show in UEFI mode, so I had to change to CSM/legacy to boot from it. The problem is that my keyboard and mouse don't work now. They work in the bios, but as soon as I boot into windows they stop working (they both have lights, and they turn off when starting to boot). I'd appreciate any help regarding this issue. Thank you!
  13. Hi! I need your help Yesterday I had my first BSOD, when watching a youtube video the whole pc just froze and I got BSOD (system_service_excpetion was the error, I think). After a few minutes the pc reset, and boot straight into the bios. I checked and the SSD wasn't recognized (only have an SSD). I reset the pc, tried to turn it on again, and got stuck on the motherboard logo screen. Reset again, press delete to go to the bios. The SSD is now recognized, but I still can not boot into it. Tried UEFI, UEFI and legacy boot mode, I just can not boot to windows. Is windows corrupted? Or is it something wrong with the pc? Thanks in advance!
