@Captain_WD @19_blackie_73 I am confused whether to buy a used Xeon processor, say like, 2 years used. It is way cheaper and affordable for me. I can have like 14 cores at affordable price. Will a used CPU not perform well? or are there any chances of their breaking down sooner on heavy loads? I am adding a link to Ebay.com, Please if you can suggest me a Xeon with good condition or trusted seller. I am from India so please check if they deliver in India. I am really confused. When I sim my scenes in Houdini Fx, I can see multi CPU cores working together upto 100%. Are you sure an 8 core processor wont do good for 6 core i7? Plus I would definitely upgrade it with another 8 core CPU. Please let me know. Thanks

I have selected two CPUs. 1) Intel Xeon E5-2620v4 - LGA2011v3 Socket Processor for C612 Chipset Boards (2.10Ghz Turbo Upto 3.0Ghz, 20MB Cache, 85Watt, 8 Cores, 16 Threads). 2) Intel Core i7 6800K - LGA2011v3 Broadwell-E Socket Processor (15M Cache, 3.4Ghz up to 3.60 GHz, 6 Core, 12 Threads, 140W). I will couple the processor with GTX 1070 8GB graphics card and also provide atleast 64 GB RAM and will add more when I have some more savings. Which one will be a better option in terms of simualtion, modeling, sculpting, rendering and all other 3D works? Does Xeon supports high 4K Textures? Will IPR and other on-screen realtime displays work fine with the xeon? I will add one more Xeon later to the Mobo. So please consider that while evaluating the performance. Does Xeon processor supports CPU water cooling? Or I wont require it? Please suggest me a motherboard with two sockets in a $400 budget. One more thing I found a used intel Xeon E5-2670 8 cores, 16 threads, it is used for 2 years now, with no warranty. Should I go for it? Will it not break down sooner or lag in performance for being used for like 2 years? Please help.

Thanks a lot for your help and time I am really tight on budget and will try to add an SSD for sure. I am planning to build this rig around November. Is it worth the wait? Will something new be coming down the streets? or should I start rigging it by the end of this month? And one more thing. Any better Cabinet? so that it supports future upgrades.

I am really confused on how to determine the power of psu so that i wont be lacking power even if i add additional gpus later. Can you help me here? and any suggestion about ups?? and thanks for your help

My old thread is almost dead and so I am posting this thread. I have selected few components for my PC. Please let me know if I should swap some components. I will keep on upgrading the system and hence I am very confused about a cabinet so please suggest me a good one. And one more thing, the import duties are very high in India. I have to pay almost $ 150.00 as import duties and taxes for a product priced at $ 450.00. So, if there is another way to buy components eliminating this duties or atleast minimizing them. I hope it is legal, I would not go for any illegal procedures. Pardon me for being such naive. Here is my planned rig: Processor: Core i7 6800K CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V MoBo: MSI X99 SLI plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 ( I am short on budget so will install some more RAM later) PSU: Corsair RM1000 GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 1070 Pascal Series 8 GB (Is there a GPU liquid cooler available for this card? or any way to get a cooler for this card? Please let me know) HDD: WD Black Edition 1 TB (Will also get a 500 GB SSD later, as said earlier, I am low on budget) Cabinet: NZXT Phantom 530 (Please let me know if any other cabinet is better than this in the same range, this will cost me around $ 135.00) UPS: APC 1.5 KVA BR1500G-IN (Is this a good UPS? I just need my ups to back me up for a few minutes so that I can shutdown my system properly, and I do heavy works like rendering so please expect full load, also is it pure sinewave? should I use a pure sinewave?) Please guys, suggest me some options and let me know if you think this rig is good. Thanks again.

Thanks for your help buddy, I can assemble it on my own, but I need suggestions on the parts that will best suit my needs. So, if you can help me in suggesting and one more thing, the market at siliguri is quite costly, I would prefer Amazon.in or hardwire.in or some other place rather than searching siliguri market.

No buddy, I never heard of any such market here. Try googling but I dont think west Bengal hosts any such IT market.
