  1. Wow. Sorry on my part. Taking way too long to respond. Had something to do. @Freezanator I was going for a Black/Red color theme and as for the GPU I have not already bought it. That is just the price for it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1060/. @nerdslayer1 In regards to peripherals and a monitor (maybe 2) I haven't really given it any thought except I'm kind of leaning towards a Razer keyboard and maybe even a Razer mouse. Again sorry for the slow response and thank you both!
  2. So I've been slowly refining this list for a while now and have decided to ask you all for some advice. What do you think? Anything helps. Thanks! Here is the PCPartPicker page: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KV6FCy. A few things to note: - I mostly plan to game. Perhaps some very minimal 3D modeling using SolidWorks. - My budget is around $1000 (US). - CPU: I already bought it so I'm kind of stuck with it. - Hard Drives: I also already have the 1 terabyte HD. Also I plan to run the two solid state drives in Raid 0 for boot and for my games. I want to use the 1 terabyte HD to back these two up. Also many many people have told me I don't need the 3 terabyte HD. Lets just all save time and let me tell you I do. If you have any other questions just ask and again, Thanks!
  3. Thinking about it afterward "Peripherals" probably wasn't the best place to put this post but oh well...
  4. I'm just going to start out saying I really have no idea what to title this post. So I'm just going to have to explain this carefully. So long story short my friend and I want to play this game together (its called overcooked but that's not important) but it doesn't have an online multiplayer. Only a local multiplayer. And unfortunately me and my friend are not able to physically go ever to each others houses to play the game. Something else to note is the game only supports one keyboard and three Xbox controllers at a time to play but that's not a problem since we have connected the controllers to our computers before. So I was thinking and perhaps there is something out there like this: Is there such a program that could enable him to plug a Xbox controller into his computer, run a software that allows him to 1, see my screen, and 2, make it so that his controller is actually communicating with my computer. In essence my computer would think an Xbox controller is plugged into it, but in reality it is plugged into his. I think there are remote desktop connection programs that have capabilities like this but I also believe that there is quite a time delay on them. right? Thank you in advance. I know this is a bit far fetched but I'm kind of at my wits end. Thanks!
  5. If you really want to keep the files you have on your computer that you want to keep (I would), explore other options before you just wipe the whole system. Personally because I am stubborn and have a lot of time and patience on my hands (most of the time), I would just find my semi-outrageously large flash drive or even my external hard drive I haven't used in forever and just put everything I want on that before I was to wipe it. There are other things you can try but unfortunately I got to go. Sorry to leave you with only this little bit of advice instead of something more helpful. Good luck.
  6. So I'm in need of a power supply for this build (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/hJhzYr). (Also, I do intend to get the GTX 1060 for my graphics card) I also have $75 worth of gift cards for best buy. I also know that putting a bad power supply in your rig can be fatal (sometimes). And still again I know that I have no idea what defines a good power supply. (the one in my build was recommended to me from someone on the forum) So I would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice. I was looking at this PSU (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/thermaltake-smart-series-650w-bronze-power-supply-black/8733872.p?id=1219365660388&skuId=8733872) but again, I have no darn clue when it comes to PSUs. I would really really like to be able to just use the gift cards but I would still add some extra $ to to use with the gift cards if there is nothing that best buy has for under $75 that will work well. Thanks in advance! P.S. Some advice on my build would also be appreciated.
  7. It is very necessary. If you do not get the heat away from the CPUs, they will over heat and DIE and you will be stuck with useless squares of metal. Basically, all the fans do (short version) is get hot air out of your case. You still have the problem of getting heat from the CPU to the air in the case so that the fans can blow it out, which is where the heatsink comes in.
  8. Very few Motherboards have out of the box wi-fi capabilities. You will most likely need to buy a separate wi-fi card. However, for a desktop gaming build I would suggest not using wi-fi and just go with your typical wired connection
  9. I have never done this personally but you could set up a team viewer between your computer and your laptop. Unfortunately you would need a screen to set it up (unless you are really good - I am not) so you could use the TV only to set up team viewer and just be really really quiet. www.teamviewer.com Personal use is free so that's good.
  10. I know this seams a bit obvious but have you tried a different wall plug? I have a few in my house that have at some point just died for no apparent reason (probably bad wiring on my part).
  11. What would be super super cool is if I were to get this and somehow mount it to my wall. Then I could watch movies or play video games while laying back in my bed!
  12. The CPU and the 1TB HD are both priced at $0 because I already have them and the motherboard is manually priced because PCPartPicker wont admit its existence but it is around and the average appears to be about $300. However I might change the motherboard. And about the case it would appear someone just recently stopped carrying it. Found an amazon link here but I would probably wait for the price to go down somewhere else.
  13. I may or may not over clock. I probably will just for the experience and the extra boost and since with water cooling I should be able to keep up with the heat. Do you agree?
