  1. IT IS NOT YOUR CPU. I just retired my 10 year old pc with a 6400 Core 2 duo , 2 gigs of ram and a gt 610 1GB. I used to play blurays, mkv and avi videos at 1080p all the time. Everything was flawless in win 10 pro 64 bit, not so much in win 7 tho. Playback was a little choppy at the beginning, but it would be ok after 30 secs of so. I think you should optimize video settings and use(force) hardware acceleration on videos. Also make sure you dont have many processes running in the background

  3. does it look like this? if you are using a csr dongle then you need these drivers https://www.dropbox.com/sh/u32no9ct2vfjcxd/AABGiB14W54WEXgMMQFlu_5Xa/CSR4.0 Harmony.zip?dl=0
  4. make sure you have the correct drivers installed, what dongle are you using?
  5. they are very similar except for a few features. I guess it comes down to personal preference. Asus has 1 more usb 3.1 port and display port BUT worse audio chip. MSI has reinfornced pic-e slots and sexier looks so idk. Im biased toward the asus for obvious reasons
  6. the asrock seems like a better deal tbh. better audio + cheaper. the z170-e does have more ports and probably better fan control, but it is up to you if you need the extra features for $20 more.
  7. ASRock used to be part of asus, even some asus boards have ASRock components so yeah it is pretty decent. And yes, it will fit perfectly in the s340
  8. it took me a while but i think i found it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157675 comes with integrated graphics, sli/crossfire etc
  9. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130892 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130902 second one comes with usb 3.1 type c, but no video output
  10. air cooling is not that difficult, but you might want to watch these videos:
  11. any H170 will do just fine, but if you want to sli/ crossfire in the future then the z170 is the only way to go. ( this is mostly due to the amount of pci-e lanes). some h170 will do crossfire but not sli. I say get a cheap z170 just in case.(that z170-e is pretty good actually)
  12. lol at the ppl saying that the i3 will stutter in games. There are plenty of videos on youtube that proof the i3 is pretty solid(even at 4k): if you still think the fx is better because it has "more cores" maybe you should get the fx-8150 (also 8 cores, so much powa) the i3 has a better upgrade path, is newer, has better power efficiency than anything amd has to offer
  13. my bad, there is a micro atx version with the h97 chipset: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/YDrG3C/asrock-motherboard-h97manniversary also http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/FkCwrH/gigabyte-motherboard-gah97md3h
  14. yeah dont worry about it, even if it had the pin only one of the fans transmits the rpm's to the motherboard
  15. well it should be fine, have you tried it yet?
  16. how about http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/BLW9TW/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary
  17. The 212 evo should be fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
  18. I dont think your pc supports booting from usb at all. First make sure your SSD appears in BIOS, also make sure to check boot priority. Second, you have to do a fresh install of windows. It will not work if you installed it on a different machine due to drivers and stuff. BTW I would not install anything beyond windows XP since your pc only supports 2 gb of ram. If all fails, make a boot disk with a CD or dvd.
  19. if having more pic-e ports is your main concern then get the Asus X99 E-WS, besides it looks slicker
  20. Are you running the latest bios? if you are 100% positive your ram is ok then it is time to call asus
  21. Read this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2456962/boot-build-error-dxe-core-started.html I hope it helps
