  1. Thank you all for your replies! I'm leaning towards the 580, i will let you know once i get it, whatever it is!
  2. Hi guys, Need your advise. I'm planning to upgrade my Sapphire 7970 3GB. I'm still gonna keep my 1080p monitor so I don't need that big of an upgrade. I'm between the RX 580 8GB and the GTX 1060 6GB. Prices in amazon (europe) are almost the same, with the 1060 being cheaper most of the times(20-40 euros cheaper). The benchmarks that i see online are pretty much head to head between the 2 so no help there. Is the extra 2GB of the 580 going to help in the near future? Is the extra cost worth it? My current specs: i5-4670(non k) 8gb 1600mhz RAM Sapphire HD7970 3GB Dual X EVGA 750w P2 Platinum SSD & HDD. Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks!
  3. Well, last night I was on the PC for 4 hours, the Led's didn't annoy me. They are not as bright as they look on the photos though. I'll take photos with my actual camera and not my phone, it will look better. Also, there are 2 more intake fans in the front, where my legs are, air circulation is pretty good. Temps are excellent. Thanks for your comments! ?
  4. Did no use any, cables were exactly the correct length! ?
  5. Have the same PSU on my HTPC that you have now (Seasonic 520W). Also failed on me, basically started making ticking noises Seasonic immediately replaced it with a new one!
  6. It does deserve it! Slowly slowly!
  7. Thank you! The fan is not as bright as it looks on the photos. The lighting is a USB LED strip that is usually meant for the back of tv's Will add more photos when i take them with an actual camera, it might fix the lighting problem.
  8. 1st time it just made random shut downs, 2nd time was DOA 3rd time it blew up! 4th time i just told them to give me another brand!
  9. Hi guys, Just finished building my desk PC. The shape of the desk is inspired by the one Linus built. I am not a professional carpenter or anything, just wanted to do this for me The computer parts themselves are not new, but in time the GPU will be upgraded and water cooling will be added. - i5-4670 - Gigabyte Z87-D3HP - 2x4GB HyperX Genesis 1600mhz DDR3 Ram - Sapphire Dual X HD7970 3gb OC - Samsung 840 Pro 128GB - Seagate Barracuda 2TB - 2x AD Link 120GB SSD's, got the pretty cheap, just have a few games installed on them - Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo with SP120 Quiet edition - EVGA 750 P2 Platinum (originally a Be Quiet Straight Power 700w Gold, but failed 3 times, yes i'm that unlucky) - 2x AF120 and 1x SP120 Quiet edition Link to my Google Photos Album: https://goo.gl/photos/K65gMXWNZpMoUx489 I'm open to constructive criticism Hope you enjoy
  10. Hey guys, Sorry for not replying to the thread, I was not getting any notifications. I found a new favorite, the Gamerock 1070 as Pohernori suggested! I will wait until the end of the month and if I am skeptical I will come back to you guys!
  11. Thanks for the quick replies guys!! Now, let's say i go with the 1070, what I have in my mind are 3 models, 1 from Zotac, 1 from Inno3d and 1 from Palit. I've read reviews about all 3 of them and I see that they are perfectly good cards, with no difference to the other brands(MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA,) Your thoughts on these?
  12. Hi guys, I'm looking to upgrade my Sapphire 7970 Dual x. I'm still rocking 1080p, the 7970 is doing quite fine, but it's starting to show its age. FYI, I have an i5-4670k on a Z87-D3HP. Now, I've narrowed it down to the 980ti, 1070 and FuryX, All 3 of them are around the 450 euro mark(including shipping). As games are becomig more demanding, I think that none of the above cards are "overkill" for 1080p, and I like a bit of future-proofing. Now, do you think that thr 4GB vram of the fury be a bottleneck? Since HBM is more efficient on higher resolutions(correct me if i am wrong). The 6GB/8GB of the 980ti/1070 is enough i believe, but what are your thoughts between the 2? Help me decide between the 3 please, unless there's another card that you believe it suits me better! Thanks, AJ. PS: Not really related to the above, but I'm also moving my pc into a computer desk, similar to the one Linus is currently building, let me know what you think of it(see attached photo)
  13. My ssd is first in order "UEFI Samsung 840 Pro SSD"
  14. Hey all, I decided today to clean a my PC a little bit. I cleaned it, re-did the cables and turned it back on. The message that said "Your PC qas shut down unexpectetly and needs to be repaired and blah blah, clicked on repair and start and BOOM, BOOT DEVICE NOT FOUND Tried agaain with "start windows normally, still the same. I tried removing all devices except my SSD with windows on it, still the same. I go into bios, and all my devices are recognised there. I can see my SSD, HDD and DVD player. I tried changing from UEFI&LEGACY to just one or the other, no luck again. I tried changing from AHCI to IDE(i dont know what else tto try), no luck again. See below my parts: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Gigabyte Z87-D3HP i5-4670 2x4gb HyperX Ram Sapphire 7970 Dual-x OC 3GB Samsung 840 Pro 128GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer BeQuiet Straight Power 680w Thank you all in advance for your help Alex.
  15. So to be clear, everyone agrees that it's ok to get the smaller one, it will just take longer to charge?
