  1. I've been running into issues with my i5/1070 rig concerning that games are crashing after 30 min of run time regardless of what graphics settings are set, so someone here recommended that I increase my Core Voltage in Msi Afterburner, only problem is that the program won't let me adjust the slider even after going into the settings to enable it and restarting both the app and my computer, tried it out with EVGA Precision and same results there, neither of which will let me adjust the Core Voltage regardless of what I do. I read up on it and apparently Nvidia locked the Core Voltage for some reason and this is really disappointing as I can't enjoy any game for no more than 30 min until it crashes, pretty much making gaming for me just not worth it anymore unless I can somehow fix this problem. So my question is, is it possible to adjust the Core Voltage on my 1070 FE, and if it's locked is there a way to unlock it?
  2. Considering this post is focused on Pascal, does anyone know if the 1070 FE is Voltage locked? I tried messing with the Core Voltage in Msi Afterburner and EVGA Precision and neither would allow me to adjust it, any info on the subject would be 10/10
  3. Just did that and it's locked in PrecisionX also, really hope the Voltage isn't locked for this card.
  4. Did so, but yet it won't let me adjust it at all, for reference I have the FE 1070 but idk if that has anything to do with it. Is the Voltage locked on the 1070 or something?
  5. okay so odd development, booted up Chrome again and now all of a sudden it works, don't know how, don't know why, but it's working again, thank you for your enthusiasm to help me out though, will return if anything like this happens again.
  6. So I tried to adjust the Core Voltage and the slider wouldn't budge, even went into the settings to enable it but it wouldn't let me mess with it at all, is my 1070's Voltage locked or can I adjust it if I download EVGA Precision?
  7. Specs: -i5 6600k -GTX 1070 -msi Z170A SLI Plus -Corsair Vengance DDR4 -2x Seagate 2tb Hard Drives -Corsair RM850x Now, I've reinstalled Chrome multiple times, and restarted multiple times, everything. I've been using this for the past month without any issues whatsoever regarding Chrome or BSOD so this is the first time anything like this has occurred to me.
  8. Nothing like that appeared, it was one of these I don't remember what the bottom line of the text said but it was this and I freaked and restarted my computer as it was at 75% (which wasn't smart of me). Now everything on my PC is working fine except Chrome, reinstalled it twice now and it doesn't respond at all, If I leave it open as it tries to load a page it eventually makes it to the "Kill Screen" where it gives me the options to either wait or kill the page. Restarted my computer multiple times now, even checking to make sure everything's plugged in and nothings loose inside and still the problem persists. I haven't experienced a BSOD on this computer at all until this and I'm at a loss as I couldn't find anything on the web like this problem.
  9. I was using chrome when all of a sudden I got a BSOD, I restarted my computer and once it was up and running again Chrome just won't load, all I get now is the white screen and no pages will load no matter what page it is, Steam and everything else is working fine except Chrome. I reinstalled Chrome and the problem is persisting and I don't know what to do, help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. can confirm am ahead on Windows Updates and just downloaded the 7/14/16 driver with the same issues occurring, but I'll max core voltage and see what happens, thanks for the help!
  11. Really? I increased the power limit to max a while ago to try and help it but didn't increase the voltage as I'm not well versed in what Core Voltage is or what it does. What do you recommend for the Voltage setting then? I didn't want to increase it all the way and fry my card or something (if that can even happen, as said not well versed in overclocking)
  12. bump, help would be greatly appreciated
  13. So recently I posted here with the issue that Nvidia's 368.39 driver is complete dog shit and would crash any game I would run on my fresh i5/1070/Win 10 build, rendering it useless except for browsing the web. They recently released a more "stable" driver on 7/6/16 which fixed a few problems I was having, which was instead of my games crashing after 5-15 min of gameplay they now only crashed at about 30 min of gameplay exactly, and instead of the "Display Driver 368.39 has stopped working and successfully recovered" notification appearing after the crash, now it only shows up sometimes and when it doesn't a usual error message shows up from the game itself. Basically I don't know if the problem is in my hardware or my software, I've been led to believe it's the software (i.e. the drivers for my 1070) as all my games run butter smooth with no inconsistencies until the 30 min mark when they crash without warning, and because MSI Afterburner doesn't show any irregularities in my card prior to and after said crashes, besides the complete drop in usage of it which is only there for about 4-6 seconds due to the game crashing and it ceasing to be used. Still, I'd rather make sure that the problem is either in the hardware or the software, any help would be greatly appreciated to solve this mess as it would finally let me use my $1300 rig that's been collecting dust, as playing games with 30 min intervals of crashing isn't so much fun, plz help would appreciate it greatly. (for those interested here is the game during the crash on MSI Afterburner, it looks like this for any game but this was specifically Witcher 3)
  14. so here's an interesting development, I had a friend of mine download the 368.39 driver on his i5/960 build (yes the bottleneck is real) and start up BF4, almost immediately he got the Display Driver crash notification and his game stopped running. I went ahead over to my AMD/GTX 960 setup with the 368.39 driver, and I was able to play BF4 (the game that crashes my drivers the fastest on my 1070) for about 2 hours or so, with no notifications or interruptions, when on my 1070 build it crashes almost immediately. hmmm all I can say is there's something going on with Intel/GTX builds and this driver, because the only cases of this I've seen have been Intel/GTX and not AMD/GTX.
  15. Yeah I'll give this a try, I was looking at DDU fresh installs on a reddit thread but it said you need to restart your computer in safe mode and a bunch of other stuff, can I just uninstall the drivers then re-install without rebooting in safe mode or is that required?
