  1. I'm curious to build a better more legit test bench. I already built one I designed out of acrylic with my work CNC machine and it's ok, not great. I have a V2 file I'd like to build but it's just not as polished as I'd like. I'm curious of anyone knows of any open sourced plans online for building a test bench. I know I've seen 3d models of the open bench but I have no idea how to convert them to 2D files to cut on my CNC. I typically use Illustrator for layout since I'm in the printing business and that's what I'm familiar with. I have my file if anyone wants to make it better but I'd like to know if someone has something better. ATX_Mobo_Pattern.pdf
  2. Yea I'd definitely look into Zen3. That's what I'm planning on doing. GN has a great video you can check out that will give you a better example of the frame improvements you could see just by jumping to a newer higher end CPU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9HV9V5nzOc
  3. Yea I'd prefer a fullsize PCB as well but it doesn't seem like we are getting much as far as details on AIB PCB's.
  4. Seems like the only guarantee we have is the FE cards will eventually get blocks. Potentially as of launch. I've already sold my 2080 super and neeeeeeed a card again. So looks like I'm going FE and waiting for a block. Plus it looks like from leaked prices the FE models will be the cheapest at launch.
  5. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/bykski-releases-first-waterblock-for-nvidia-rtx-3080-and-rtx-3090-founders-edition-cards Bykski already has a waterblock for the founders cards. I find it funny the writer on Toms says why would you pay the premium on the founders cards to just waterblock it. Meanwhile the founders cards will be the cheapest cards at launch. According to leaked prices that have surfaces for AIB cards.
  6. Oh wow...I wouldn't have expected that with the weird PCB design and stupid new vertical connector.
  7. From what I've heard the Founders card is not the reference design. Nvidia is basically making a custom card for the Founders so they are not considered reference design. The EK block they announced are for the reference design not the founders.
  8. I'm just trying to stimulate that economy! I'm taking one for the team and doing my part. I was unaware they had that on their site. I can only assume if they have those Asus cards on their site they will probably make blocks for them. I just don't want to buy a card and end up getting screwed when there is no block for it.
  9. So I know more info will come out but I'm looking for a 3080 that's a reference design for the new EK waterblocks. No one has released any info really on their cards but I'm thinking people can post here when manufacturers update their info. I don't want to end up buying a card I can't put a waterblock on. Also I'm cardless right now and I'm itching to order it day of release.
  10. Good Lord you fit a lot of components into that case...ok sweet. That helps out alot. Worst case I could always go with a PE since I know it will fit. Does alpha cool make dual pass rads? I didn't really know that was a think in these PC rads.
  11. Oh wow didn't see that diagram. I was going to get the EK distro but I really want a D5 pump and have access to a large CNC machine at work so I'm going to attempt to make my own. Weird though so they say basically the other side of the case has 50mm. Doesn't say what the Mobo side has really. Bit of an oversight on their part.
  12. Those sound very high end but $120 a piece is a bit too rich my for my blood. They do look damn good too.
  13. Yea I was thinking about going EK everything but now I think I might go HW Labs instead. Just from reviews I've heard from people and a bit cheaper, even though I think the EK shrouds look better. Would you be able to see what kind of clearence there is on the side rad mount if there was 80mm of crap in the way? I want to use a distro plate but curious if it would fit with a large rad up top.
  14. Noob to open loop but trying to look for the best performance/quality rads to use in an O11 dynamic build. Looking to do two 360 rads. One top one bottom, probably thinner on the bottom thicker on the top. Of course I can't find the site but I saw a hardwarelabs GTS out performing a EK PE. Seems crazy to me but who knows. I'd do a GTS for the bottom and GTX for the top but not sure if that 55mm will fit on the top. EDIT: Maybe if I read the manual I'd see there is like 90mm of space. So is there any issue I'd possibly run into doing a 55mm on top? Just looking for suggestions.
  15. I think it would depend on what your audio software/plugins rely on frequency or cores. Obvi the 9900ks would win the frequency and 3900X wins for cores. As far as gaming goes you can check out Gamers Nexus charts on performance in games for the 3900X. With a 2080 ti your seeing differences of 30fps in some games, gaps close when you increase your resolution. My buddy just got a 3900x for photography/video/gaming and he's very happy with it. I think it's a fantastic choice for versatility. You compromise a bit in gaming but gain so much in a lot of production workloads.
