  1. So I work from home but I'm also a gamer.... I need a keyboard (big fan of clicky cherry mx switches) that can operate both wired a nd wireless. The idea is that I will use the wireless feature for my work pc and the wired will be for my gaming setup. I already have a Razer Naga Pro and it works great for this purpose. Currently I'm using a Corsair K95 which is an amazing keyboard aand no real complaints other than it can't accomplish what I need for work. As a workaround I was thinking of buying just a simple USB switch which will permit me to swap between where my keyboard and mouse feed to. However I have major concerns about added latency with that type of a setup. Any suggestions appreciated and money isn't a big issue here but would prefer not to go beyond the $300 mark (obviously would prefer to be below this but I understand my needs aren't a super inexpensive one).
  2. This isn't an immediate need type deal because the XL2746S which I currently have will tide me over... but I would like to start budgeting for the upgrade. I did see mentions of the G7 and even watched the LTT video it looks like a great monitor and is definitely one I'm considering. As for price point ideally I wouldn't want to spend more than $700 tops but as mentioned before I have a great monitor that will tide me over till I've saved up enough to get whatever its replacement is.
  3. I just recently purchased a 3090 graphics card and was curious what monitor I should pair it with. Currently I'm running a BenQ Zowie XL2746S which is an amazing monitor for 1080p however I'm thinking si nce I'm going to a 3090 I should probably invest in a 1440p or a 4k monitor. I play a lot of FPS games so low response time is a must. I also would like to have a decently high refresh rate as well.
  4. I'm looking to rebuild my system and I was curious which motherboards might offer an online flash feature. I recall building one a while back for someone and all I had to do was plug an ethernet cable in boot to bios and select update and it went online and grabbed the proper file. I'd like for my next motherboard to have this feature but was unsure of which product line had it. I'll be moving to skylake.
  5. What about the onboard video? Could be something as simple as the motherboard not seeing the graphics card.
  6. Typically that is what blocks you from the bios unless you have a password. So yeah it's likely a supervisor password.
  7. Likely dell support is your best option. If you're any good with a screwdriver you could try the following: http://blog.parts-people.com/2016/04/19/dell-xps-15-9550-p56f001-cmos-battery-removal-and-installation/ problem is most laptops won't lose the supervisor password even with removing the cmos battery as they have recently started storing that information in memory. Also note that breaking the case open will void your warranty.
  8. PC System Analysis for Gears of War 4 Gears Of War 4 is built using an advanced version of the Unreal engine. Gears 4 will likely require a top end PC. We expect something around a Skylake i7 processor along with an Nvidia GTX 970 and 16GB system memory to meet recommended system requirements. This should mean High graphics settings at 1080p and 60 frames per second. More info on this as we get closer to the release source: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=23264&game=Gears of War 4
  9. Always a good idea.... i suggest bestbuy or fry's or a similar store rather than online that way you can easily return it if it doesn't solve your problem.
  10. I just did a upgrade and had terrible coil whine from the proc. I bought a new one and the whine went away. You'll have to do some very close listening to hone in where it's coming from i kept my entire case taken apart till i figured it out.
  11. Replaced the psu and its solved or seems to be
  12. Had my wife monitor it while i was at work today and she noticed the PSU was vibrating when it happened and also the sound was coming from it. I went ahead and purchased a new PSU (same model) and I'm going to install it soon. I will let you'll know how it turns out.
  13. Alright I just tried a few things we'll see how it pans out. 1: Reseated the graphics card and connectors 2: Pulled the heat sync and proc out (removed old thermal compound and reapplied) 3: Added an additional fan to the heat sync (it had 1 previously but being a Nochtua cooler I had another to spare) 4: Adjusted the fan headers on the back. Now I'm getting an odd cpu fan error although the fans are in fact running. I'll keep monitoring it and let you guys know as soon as i have more info if any of that solved it.
  14. I recently recased my home rig to be in the H440. While I was at work today my wife messaged me on skype saying my system was making a strange noise but yet it wasn't consistent and would happen at completely random times. Tonight I was laying down and sure enough woke up to the noise. Again, it's completely random it happens like once every in a while and lasts for about 10-15 seconds then stops. Was very difficult to catch but I managed to catch the noise on camera. We have tried taking the front portion of the case off and the back portion of the case off but the noise still seems to happen. I need some ideas because as I mentioned it happens at completely random times which makes it stupid hard to troubleshoot. Also would like to add that the cable management is honestly spot on so i doubt that it's a cable issue.
