  1. PG348Q exists, PG35VQ has been a dream for 18+ months...
  2. Vive. Bought one at the weekend after waiting for a year to see if the hype was worth it. I have been utterly blown away by Google Earth VR - that is worth the price of the headset alone in my eyes. Some of the other software that I have tried seems to be almost tech demo in style, but there are a few gems out there too. I haven't tried the Rift, but I do concur with the others about the room space needed to make the Vive worth it. Even better if you can leave it set up - for me it's as easy as flicking on a wall outlet for the base stations and putting the headset on. Not sure if I'd use it as much if I had to set it up each time though.
  3. It may also be cheaper to buy one of EK's custom kits from a local PC vendor. That's what I did and added an extra rad and gpu later. Worked out cheaper than buying individually too.
  4. If I'm reading the review correctly, it says the LG OLED TV has a 34.1ms input lag at best. That's (in my experience) pretty much unusable for gaming. The Samsung you mentioned has an input lag of around 20ms. I've used them both for gaming, and could definitely tell the difference between the two. In fact, it was the reason I haven't bought into OLED yet. Plus, the brightness is not great compared to the current crop of LED TVs on the market, and this makes a big difference for me living in a very sunny part of the world. I'm sure OLED will catch up one day, but for my money it is not quite there for PC gaming.
  5. Not for a long time - OLED TVs have horrendous input lag at present. Maybe one day.
  6. Hey all, I haven't seen any announcements about any new ultrawides from CES that are IPS with G-sync. The new Samsung QLED monitor sounds good but lacks G-sync. Any news?
  7. Hi, I installed the P360 kit about 2 months ago and it's great. I added a GPU waterblock a couple of weeks ago as well as a 480mm radiator too. Can't recommend it enough! I'm pretty sure primochill tubing was what I bought from the EK store - as long as it's the correct ID/OD then it will be compatible with your fittings. Not that I kept it for long- the urge to try rigid tubing was too great! Best of luck with your build.
  8. Shuffled things around a bit when I got my replacement parts through. Anyone else using this case?
  9. Yeah, you make sense. I'm itching to get something to show off my new 1080 though...
  10. Hi all, I've been putting off the purchase of either a Predator x34 or ASUS PG348Q for the last couple of months because of the "imminent" release of the newer, faster IPS ultrawide panels. Has anyone heard anything about their release date? Last I heard for the Acer x34P was "Q4 2016". J6
  11. I should also say, there are some people out there who have successfully modded their AIO coolers to change tubing and coolant. But in my opinion I would only do that if I already had the cooler and just wanted a color change on a very small budget.
  12. That's what I had initially. Did it look weird? Not weird, maybe a little unbalanced because of my massive case, and I had positioned the pump to allow easy access for the upcoming GPU cooling that I had planned. Here's a photo I took whilst leak testing (before I added the rest of the components and tidied up the tubing and cables): If I was just going to cool the CPU I would have got one of the smaller kits with probably a 240mm rad and a smaller pump/res combo. I would mount the pump to the front of the case (closer to the CPU) rather than on the bottom. As for difficulty, I had never done it before until I did! I have to say it was an absolute breeze and no more difficult than installing an AIO cooler. The hardest parts are planning where to put everything (if you want it to look good!) and then resisting the urge to add more to your new loop!
  13. Have you considered a custom loop? I was in a similar position to you a while back, and was able to find an EK kit (rad, tubing, fittings and cpu block) for not much more money than an AIO cooler. The only trouble is that I am now a full convert to custom loops and have spent more money adding another rad and pair of gpu blocks! But if I had the willpower to stop, my custom kit was cooler and quieter than my old Corsair 115. Plus I could use any color tubing and coolant. Give it a go!
  14. Hey, thanks for all the replies. I am going to stick with my monitor on my current PC, but will be finally upgrading my ancient Sony HDTV to some kind of 4K set later this year. I had planned to connect my PC to it as well as my monitor for those occasions when casual gaming with the kids or sharing content with the family. I assume I'm limited to HDMI 2.0 - I can't find a TV with a DisplayPort connector yet. Time for more digging on this forum!
  15. Hi all, I understand (mostly) the reasons why TVs aren't great for use with PCs - input lag, latency, refresh etc. So why are they more than acceptable for use with consoles that use similar hardware to PCs? For example, I am hard pressed to tell the difference between gaming on my desktop with a modern 1440p IPS monitor and gaming on my PS4 connected to an ancient Sony 1080p TV. Do I need to get my eyes checked?! J6
