No elitist here, just a tube fan. I'm just trying to see what people have experience with. Sure low end tube amps can be less accurate but some of the higher end ones are just as accurate and brilliant as solid states. That's why I asked questions about nicer tube setups.

i'm lollling so hard right now. Have you heard audio research amps? Have you ever listened to a pair of wilson watt puppys? I'm not questioning the fact that solid state will give you more "accurate" aka less thd than a valve driven setup. But have you listened to a super high end valve amplifier with a solid set of speakers. Solid state can't compete IMO. Yes I'm jumping down your throat right now. lol

Some of the best systems I've heard and that grace the homes of high end audiophiles contain tube amplifiers. Every amp distorts the signal.

schiit makes some tube headphone amps too, please explain why one doesn't want a nice tube amplifier for their headphones?

Thing I've notice with more expensive dac's is you get this clarity and warmness of bass unheard of with computer audio before... and also the highs (rides, symbols, hi hat) sound super crispy...

You should grab an audio research setup for those speakers. Grab one of the pre amps and amplifiers.. They sound brilliant. My friends father had a $120,000 set up with audio research pre amp, amp, some crazy turn table, and the wilson watt puppies. The sound truly had depth to it....a million times better than live shows..

Quad speakers..... They are bookshelf ones.. check out gcaudio.com That is where I buy all of my audio stuff. The guy sells out of his house and this the god of audio. He has everything from $1000 setups to $100,000 setups.... I would really recommend the rega brio-r for the integrated amp. I have one and it is amazing. It's decent....Or you could grab a headphone amp and seperate dac... I need to research for ya!!!

usually a "cheap" combination of a poor dac and a poor amplifier.. It is just always better to have them separate. It's like buying a hybrid bike. It's a crappy mountain bike and a crappy road bike.
