  1. Your worries about the new gpu being hurt by old mobo and vice versa can be put aside, this doesn't happen. Here is what I would do: 1: you can stake out newegg shell shockers and wait for a 3060ti or 6700Xt or better to be on sale on there, which something comparable is on there every day. 2: if you have a microcenter near you they have bundles like this: which are amazing deals and I recently got one myself. These are the best bang for your buck options at this moment.
  2. I like hinjima's list, and to add to it, you can save money if you have a nearby microcenter. They have these bundles going on right now, very good deals.
  3. I’m not considering budget right now but just considering the fact that an RTX 4070 is $600, and a new 7700X, MSI b650p pro wifi, and 32gb Ram is $450 at microcenter. Power supply is 650w evga gold idk which one exactly, but 4070 is probably in the upper limits of that. Use case, I use my pc for everything, but I do game in 1440p.
  4. My current build is a Ryzen 5 3600X and RTX 3060 12gb w 32gb of Ram. Microcenter has some crazy deals right now like new 7000s w mobo and ram for half of price would be buying all together. That or I can get a new gpu. Cooling isn’t an issue, I have a good cooler. However if I were to upgrade gpu I would probably need a new power supply also. Curious to see what others think.
  5. My brother got a new SSD for his pc, and my older methods of transferring all that info to a new SSD then formatting the original HDD are now PAID. All my google searches for free software to do this result in it asking me for my credit card right before starting the process. Please help.
  6. grip style doesn't matter in this case, and hand is 4in wide, 6.75 long.
  7. I am completely done with razer. First time I replaced it myself, second time went through warranty (which took 2.5 months and was hell even as a US resident). This one succumbed to the same death. The MB1 no longer works, and MB2 only sometimes works. I've relinked, reinstalled all drivers, etc. The tracking still works, and scrolling, just buttons don't. Razer couldn't fix it and gave me a new one that second time. Now I need a new mouse ASAP, as college is handing my ass to me. I know I am asking a lot of requirements but seeing as this POS mouse had it, others must. - USB and bluetooth wireless connection (yes both) - somewhat light - fits medium hand - adjustable dpi (I use 650 on this currently but as long as it offers 800) -please don't hurt the bank i am a struggling college student who is doing bad enough as is
  8. The only thing that catches my eye is if that LAN Host IP Address is correct. Open CMD, type ipconfig, and where it says ipv4 address (will usually start with 192.168) that is the local IP of YOUR machine that the server is running on and needs to be in that LAN host ip address spot. Not sure if this is the fix but will get rid of some confusion hopefully.
  9. This is my current build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZTx2qp Looking to upgrade to a 6900XT this black friday (around $600-650), I hate team red, but the performance for the price is just unbeatable right now... I am aware I will have to upgrade PSU as well. My Mobo is pcie 3.0 will it be a significant FPS drop vs a pcie 4.0 motherboard
  10. I am not getting spikes it’s more like just consistently shit fps
  11. I get that the games new, but I'm using mostly low settings, the drivers that are dubbed compatible, and I have 120+ in vanguard, CW, MW2019, but not MW2... RTX 3060, 32gb ram, ryzen 5 3600x. Task manager has both at around 60% usage only... cpu temps haven't gone above 37 even on slight overclock (overkill cooling setup) 3060 hasn't gone above 68deg.. Restarted PC and disabled all background activity.
  12. i mean they would theoretically fail earlier... just leave it on auto fan curve.
  13. As title says. I have friends with the sony srs-xb23 and I personally love it, I can get one for $89 USD, just seeing if there is anything better out there for the price. I don't wanna completely break the bank (being a college student) so $110 max. Or maybe the anker soundcore 3 is more for me at $29? just wanna see some input
  14. Having some tough times finding one... tenkeyless or 60%, quieter switches (I.E. not blues, reds are okay) a backlight would be nice, doesn't necessarily have to be RGB don't wanna break the bank, I'm a "broke college student" Earlier shipping is best, so amazon may be the way to go here...
  15. I've had good experiences with the asus vivobooks, got one for my dad a while ago (cannot speak on the durability as he always leaves it on his desk) One of my friends got the newer model for college, it does the job. I also believe asus vivobooks are the best for their price point, that being said I would go with the intel OLED version.
  16. it does not even matter, as most likely, your monitor can only display 144fps max. 144hz monitor = can only display 144fps max. You and your friend need to stop pickin arguments on fps and whose pc is better. who cares.
  17. doesn't really matter... 300hz is fastest refresh rate monitor so it is highly unlikely you have a difference.
  18. my brother in christ if you would see how i did this... Instead of mounting to bottom of desk, i mounted it to the shelf above and had to like flip the bracket so it would clamp around the metal crossbar... this is why i'm studying to be an engineer lmfao.
  19. Too long dont wanna type much... dorm desk small, $99 usd max, preferably 60%/TKL, quiet switches (dont wanna piss off roommate) had a ducky one 2 mini MX blue at home decked out, but still pretty loud.
  20. I just moved into my dorm and my monitor doesn't fit on the desk by about 2 inches (with default stand) The desk has shelves built in on top of it, with about a 14-15 inch gap between desk surface and shelf. That being said I'm looking for a monitor mount that can clear it, I don't want it to be an extendo arm one that much as I'm afraid it will encroach on the depth of the desk (I need some space for schoolwork after all!) https://www.newegg.com/p/15Z-01XB-000A6?Description=single monitor stand&cm_re=single_monitor stand-_-9SIAJDSAY60505-_-Product This is kind of what I was thinking but the pole intersects with the shelf, since it is 16.6 inches. I cannot really find anything on amazon or newegg with these constraints, so any help would be appreciated.
  21. I also at one time had an issue like this, turns out my motherboard didn't support these exact sticks I had. Look at the compatibility in ur motherboard manual, itll tell you brand and models that work.
  22. EVGA Ftw3 has one of the best coolers for cards, looks nice, and i've had good support with them over the years whether it be PSU, gpu, or even keyboard.
  23. after we built it, ran prime95 and 5900x had peaks of 83, but during gaming never went over 75, and 3080ti was in mid 70s but I believe he adjusted fan curves recently
