as mentioned previously by @Leventyou should try connecting another device directly to your machine, I honestly am leaning towards the switch just due to it's age. 10/100's are from the 90's or early 2000s generally.

This might seem like the lamest suggestion ever but have you tried adding your providers DNS as a secondary DNS provider ? I've had similar issues with providers before that was solved with something as simple as that (however lame it seems). Having some real issues with setting rules for OpenVPN with iptables on Ubuntu 18.04. We have a Mac Mini in our office that unfortunately sometimes reboots, the issue is that when it reboots networking isn't started until a login has been done on the machine physically which during covid-19 lockdown is impossible. Has anyone seen this happen with a mac / found a fix ?
