He said he was following Nvidia's performance gains per generation?
-
Okay, thank you.
-
Well, i'm looking to buy the ASUS Strix Gaming variant of the 1080 TI. Those are the prices i'm mentioning. Base Clock - RN: $899 OC - RN: $849.99 (pre-order)
-
Yeah, so shall I just purchase the 1080 TI when it comes in stock? Looks like amazon already raised the prices a bit. The regular clocked GPU is $120 more than when I checked yesterday and $50 more than the OC version (literally makes no sense). I may pre-order the OC version right now to prevent and further price fluctuations.
-
Oh, so then what's the point of it? Just newer architecture?
-
Ah okay, the 1180 will be priced a little cheaper?
-
Ah okay, well, I've just basically sold my 5k iMac. So i'm using my laptop, not really in such a urge to game; however, is the 1180 supposed to have insane performance boosts than the 1080 ti? Also, I do live in the US, but i'm not really looking forward to paying a huge premium.
-
Hello, I'm currently in the market for making my very first PC. I've been a Mac user my entire life, and the 5k iMac is just complete trash. Trying to use a mobile gpu to power a 5k screen I can barely do anything on it. I've set a budget around 1.7-2k for a new computer and have came up with a few builds. Each build features a GTX 1080 TI and a variant of some sort: ASUS, Gigabyte, etc. I've been scouring around for a place that has them in stock, and it seems Amazon will be the earliest retailer to have one in stock which'll be in a few days. Before I pre-order my card, should I hold off? I've seen people posting about Nvidia's new lineup, and it's been roughly 2 years since the last "refresh" of the GeForce lineup. What do you guys think? How long will it take, and is it in by interest to wait? Thanks, D3monw3st

How does this build do? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bvkckd Also, which graphics card is better then? Gigabyte 1080 TI, ASUS 1080 TI, or EVGA 1080 TI?

Hm, any case that you'd suggest to work with this build? I really like the components: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bvkckd

Okay, I'm looking at switching up the motherboard as it's ITX in a MATX case. Also, do you think the case selected is a bit too much for flying?

Okay, I've already confined by search to ITX or MATX. I also use external hard drives, so a small inner storage will be okay for me.

Just some small adobe premiere stuff. I use my old 2015 iMac 5k to do renders, and while it takes a while a small improvement would be nice. Also, when checking it in I was thinking of telling the person that it's a fragile case and to handle it with care. Additionally, thanks for the comment. I'll definitely remove the cooler

Hello! I'm currently looking to make a PC that I can take to college and back home. So it'd have to be small enough to fit inside of a big suitcase in which i'll be checking in. The computer itself will be used for small renders and quite a bit of gaming. Below are a couple of builds that I've made and been suggested. Feedback would be very much appreciated and if you have a build of your own, please let me know. Before any of you comment telling me to get a Laptop, I've just purchased the 15 inch MBP. As for my budget it'll be 2k, the cheaper the better . Thank you guys so much for doing this, it really helps out. Build 1: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QVxXRJ Build 2: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7XQC8Y Build 3: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NkFWcY Build 4: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f4gTMZ (This build has some sort of compatibility issue, it has something to do with the CPU and BIOS mode. Is this concerning? https://gyazo.com/f410a49f7311fd34c0fc4dd78e94ef0d ) Thanks again.

PC to travel with (Gaming and work)

Common misconception. Egpu's don't work with the display, unless you use an external display. -

I currently use a MacBook Pro 15 inch, no point in me buying another laptop. -

Ah okay, cool. Makes sense. If I were to tone down the GPU, what would you suggest? Also, would the liquid cooling leak by any chance b/c of the movement in flights. -

It seems to have some complications, should that be concerning? -

Do not need the OS. Monitor would be nice, but not mandatory. Country: US. -
Hello, I'm looking to create a PC that I can game quite viciously with and get good frames while also being able to travel to college and back (taking it on the airplane). Small form factor would be okay, but i'm not sure if mid tower would work? Any thoughts? If you could post your builds below, that'd be great. I'm looking for a PC that can play PubG at almost max settings, while also being able to render pretty well (Adobe Premiere Pro) . I'm also looking for the PC to either feature watercooling, or a fantastic fan setup that would work with overclocking if needed. Budget: 1k - 2.5k I have looked at the Corsair One, but have heard about it being over priced.
