  1. I saw that with wide eyes once you noted it and then my hand hit my forehead really hard... Curve adjusted and all is well with the world once again, in fact I have near silent normal running now. I knew if I supplied enough information you guys would spot the obvious. But I don't feel silly as that's what makes you all great! And you may be young but you know to help old people, son... I mean, good sir. You're a gent!
  2. I'd done 90% of the basic checks, I was just GPU temp blind... So I'm off to address that. Thanks for you're input it was a good check list
  3. You sir are a gent, I was looking at the wrong output figures because I was CPU blind! I'll do what I can with the curve on this founder edition GPU and consider a water cooling option, are there options for further cooling without breaking the bank? IE, the one I broke getting this bucket of bolts together in the first place! PS: If 76 is the year of you entering this green earth, you just helped a fellow old man. And made him happy (sounds creepy, but you know what I mean!)
  4. HI Ronnie (good number choice) 76 I'll re run the test and post the temperature results for you now.
  5. I seem to be going backwards! I need your help guys & dolls... No Idea how but when I first tested this system: Case CORSAIR CARBIDE 600C CPU 6 core Broadwell-E i7 6850K Cooled by Corsair H80i GT Hydro Motherboard ASUS ROG STRIX X99 RAM 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000 MHz Graphics Card NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1080 Storage 1TB Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" SSD & SATA 6Gb + X3 2TB SATA Drives Power CORSAIR 850W RMx I was getting way above 4K gaming spec and better than 97% of results out there. However after a basic BIOS overclock via the automated gaming profile, things have gotten worse... way worse. Now I'm told I am no longer able to 4K game and on times failing the VR test I must be having an issue I can't seem to spot... (or have caused) Fire Strike http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13526394 Time Spy 1.0 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13525509 I have attached the CPU-Z details and will supply further details on request in the hope that one of you helpful peps can help me. I notice my memory is running way under spec and have not touched the GPU are these my issues? One of balance? MASSIVE thanks to you guys in advance I really appreciate any help. imaner76
  6. My apologies! Feel free to remove the thread I thought I may have been on the wrong place, I will learn
  7. SOLVED: It was a power issue, I bought and tested a powered USB hub and it instantly fixed the issue. Now I need to find a nice USB 3.0 or 3.1 hub for permanent use.
  8. I think this thread is more about how individuals system configurations can and will work in the real world. A very helpful tool for people looking at building or buying so they can literally benchmark what they may achieve and either manage their exceptions, or simply re evaluate. Very handy for those looking in to VR gaming and the requirements for this new and exciting way to play!

  11. Hello one and all! again! Last week my son was born so I've had little to no time to get my intention of you tube streaming underway for my mates! Today I thought I'd have a go but it appears that my USB gremlins still reside. I've popped this off topic because I'd like a general discussion and given that my YouTube channel has 9 subs I don't want Linus getting worried that I may overtake him and the whole fantastic media group The first video was a constant fail, the second with the driving rig was, while still a fail, did remain connected longer... [removed] I've left them up for now so people can see what I meant by the failures. The first 1:51 seconds of video one need to be skipped there is nothing but me trying to get sound. This issue only comes to the front during OBS use. The motherboard is fine, so would a powered USB hub help in any way? I ask because If the power overload is an issue due to multiple devices this may by pass that? Many thanks for you help and please feel free to take the pi$$ about the videos I deserve it imaner76
  12. HI, yes LGS is in place and all drivers appear to be up to date. The resetting takes the form of a complete shut down and re start of all USB devices. I mistakenly thought the G810 remained ok but it appears I was mistaken it's every USB device on the system. It then takes a slight pause before I get my selected DPI back on the mouse, etc. I have disabled USB suspend. So need exploration beyond that. Is anyone more familiar with the USB BIOS motherboard settings for a Asus ROG STRIX X99 that may assist me?
