  1. Hey guys and gals, I am currently on the look out for a new laptop I've been using my current one for the past 4 years and it's finally coming to its end the screen keeps giving out at times and I am also in the need of a more powerful machine. I am currently a junior college engineering student. (horrible time to be in need of a new laptop) So I'm trying to keep it under $1000 I don't need anything to high end but I also don't want a machine that will begin to show signs of wear by the end of the year. I'm looking for something thin/light since I'll be carrying it around with me all the time, but I also need a little horse power I wouldn't mind an i5 with a 960m. I don't plan on gaming much since I have my own rig at home. Any one have any suggestions. I like the MSI ghost pro so that can serve as a good reference.
  2. Hey guys so I've been having an issue with my samsung s6 for the past 2 or 3 weeks where all my notifications don't seem to be working correctly ( I should note this issue is only with apps i have downloaded not with apps that already came with my phone so i receive text messages and calls just fine) When my screen is on sometimes notifications will show up at the top of my screen but disappear after half a second apps include email, group me, facebook etc. then when i pull down my notification trey there's nothing there none of my notifications are on the notification trey (except txt and phone calls). Also when my phone is off in my pocket and i happen to receive a notification from some app i get a very light vibration from my phone (its the only way I've been able to know that i have a notification) of course when i check my lock screen there's nothing there (when there really is). Here are the solutions i have tried so far 1. Check and see if my notifications are turned on (yes they are) 2. Update samsung push notification (its up to date) 3. Make sure wifi is always on during sleep mode (it is) 4. Uninstall and reinstall apps that don't give me my notifications ( did that) 5. Restarted phone (of course i did that) 6. Is sync turned on? (it is) 7. Is everything up to date? (it is) I'm trying to avoid having to reset my phone because i have a lot of stuff on it at the moment (well not a lot of stuff, more like a small amount of important stuff and accounts that will a huge hassle to redo) If anyone could help or has any more suggestions i could try it would really be help full. Thank you.
  3. Great thanks guys
  4. Hey guys, so hoping someone can help me in this situation. 1). I moved into an apartment that had really bad wifi 2). Decided to buy my own wifi service for the apartment got a free AC 1900 C6300BD netgear router with the package 3). Apartment complex decides to upgrade their wifi after a year to a much better service on par with what i am paying for in my own service 4). Since apt wifi is free, i cancel my current plan with internet provider 5). I get to keep the router 5). Apt wifi is open so i want my own little wifi pocket using a repeater for example ( i know my speeds will stay the same but i don't want any random person casting to my chrome cast out of no ware, plus i only get one ethernet port i need about 3) Here's where i need help can i turn my old router i got into an extender? Since apt wifi only comes with one ethernet port can i use a ethernet to coax converter to connect it to my old router so i can have access to more ethernet ports and my own wifi pocket? Should i just buy a network switch? ( i know they are pretty cheap, but id rather not buy one if i can use my old router)
  5. Ok i got the files from the media creation tool , but how does windows 10 figure out im entitled to a license will it do it on its own?
  6. Really? i did not know that! How do install the windows 10 files? Since it was a download from the upgrade program i never thought about making a copy, and what do i do to activate it? or will it do it by it self?
  7. I did, i upgraded a while back to windows 10, then the driver issue happened and i did a factory reset so now i'm back on windows 7 because i did not have an activation code for windows 10.
  8. I'm trying to take advantage of the free upgrade, so i don't have to buy it
  9. This is already a clean install of windows 7, I'm trying to upgrade to windows 10
  10. This solution did not help. It says the same thing
