  1. Hello, I have a GTX 1070 Founder edition. It would be nice to get a free boost to my card to maybe be on par with a 1080? or i could make a pc for in my living room as a media pc (steam box style too) (: cheers
  2. everyone thank you for your time. Ive just woken up and im late for work so I have to rush off but i will look at these later THANK YOU (:
  3. G'day Fellas, I am or was a console peasant and probably worse an apple macbook pro user but now I have decided to come over to the PC master race. I have been watching Linus videos for ages because I like to have a general Idea about Pc's. At the end of the day though I really get very confused as I am sure allot of people do when looking to build a rig. I'm from and live in New Zealand and the main Pc shop that I know about is Dragon Pc. I jumped onto their site and looked around for a bit but everything was either over priced or looked too flashy for me (i'm looking for more of bang for buck rather than pretty rgb lighting). So I sent them an E-mail letting them know what I was after.... Pretty much after a pc to do general browsing, Office and play Overwatch a bit of Rust and other General games. Nothing too crazy and i will only be playing at 1080p and don't really need the graphics on insane. I also have a GoPro black and have footage from holiday but haven't been able to edit it due to my MacBook Pro only having a 250gb ssd, so i would like to be edit that footage and possibly record and edit gameplay. I would like another ssd preferably 250gb again and I can source a normal hdd thing. Also I can get a copy of windows. If you could do me up a quote for something you think will go fine for what im after for about 1000-1200 when you get some time that would be great... this is what i got back: $260 Intel i5 6400 $100 Asus Intel H110 Micro ATX motherboard $96 2x (16gb total) Adata 8gb ddr4 2133 $57 Adata 120gb SSD $70 FPS P1802 mid tower case $91 Enermax 500w 80+ silver $307 Asus gtx 960 overclocked 4gb total= 981 +15% for tax Grand total= $1128 NZD Im a student so this is quite a bit of money But then as I was Googling around I started to get very confused. I started thinking well hey what about if I don't get the graphics card thing and just wait like a month or 2 and instead get better other things. what about the bloody ram stuff i'm pretty sure i could get away with 8gb like Linus is always saying (: So I started to brows over the parts them selves. Below is what I cam up with as an alternative and would buy a Gtx 960 or even more likely wait the extra week and get a Gtx 970 and also another 8gb stick: $493 intel i7 6700 not the overclock one just normal $261 Gigabyte Intel z170 Atx motheboard (ga-z170xp-sli) $72 Kingston hyper x fury 8gb stick ram thing 2666 ddr4 $149 Samsung evo 250gb ssd (i cant seem to find anyone reccomend the pro but its $100 more) $110 corsair carbide series 100r with a window on the side $159 corsair 650w 80+ gold Total= $1244 +15% for tax Grand total= $1430 First off i'm not sure if all those bits work together i've been looking at it now for about 7 hours trying to figure out what all the codes and stuff mean. Second i'm a student so its a little on the high side and i would like to keep it towards the 1000-1200. Third Should I go for this type and buy the extra ram stick thing and the graphics card in like a month? if i try to add the other 8gb stick in a month will it break the pc? If you have read all the way to here I would like to THANK YOU very much for your time and hope I haven't pissed you off with my lack of knowledge. Now if you have some more time and could reply letting me know your thoughts on anything I have covered that would be a great help to me and I would be very grateful. If you are going to recommend parts If you have the extra time it would be very helpful to recommend some from the Dragon pc New Zealand or another place I can actually order from in New Zealand Thank you again and have a nice night. Cheers Regan
