This is my solution: word = input("Please enter a word:") length = len(word) if length % 2 == 0: midpoint = length // 2 output = word[:midpoint] + "egg" + word[midpoint:] else: midpoint = int(length / 2 - 0.5) output = word[:midpoint] + "ga" + word[midpoint] + "ga" + word[midpoint+1:] print(output)

Thanks :). I'll take a look at a used water cooler but may be something I upgrade over time. I agree with you about the 6600k but I have CeX vouchers I need to use and the only two parts I can get from them is processor and SSD so I might as well use them. Thank you so much for your advice.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look for alternative PSUs. This is my first build so I never overclocked before but I would like to try it. Given I should wait for the RX 480 I may use the money for a GPU to go an i7 6700k as well as increase SSD capacity and amount of RAM and just saving up for a GPU at a later date. Looks nice. I got the price of a 290 wrong it should be 170. I would prefer to use a board with a z170 chipset so I can overclock in the future and I may possibly go up to i5 6600k so I can overclock. My alternative is this (note this does push me £15 to £20 over budget): PCPartPicker part list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mwhQzM Price breakdown by merchant: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/mwhQzM/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£180.00) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£27.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: MSI Z170-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£84.31 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£27.26 @ Amazon UK) Storage: A-Data Premier SP550 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£30.68 @ Amazon UK) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card (£170.00) Case: BitFenix Nova ATX Mid Tower Case (£29.62) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£75.00) Total: £624.86 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-06-03 22:08 BST+0100 I have gone down to 1 stick of RAM as it is the easiest thing upgrade when I get a little more money.

Sorry for posting quite so many possible builds. Currently, I have £340 in CeX vouchers (uk.webuy.com) and £270 in cash for a build to game at 1440p. This is my current idea for a build: PCPartPicker part list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Gtmscc Price breakdown by merchant: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Gtmscc/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor (£100.00) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£27.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£44.46 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£26.01 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£26.01 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Intel 520 Series Cherryville 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£50.00) Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 290X 4GB Video Card (£190.00) Case: BitFenix Nova ATX Mid Tower Case (£30.15 @ Amazon UK) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£74.99 @ Amazon UK) Total: £569.61 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-06-03 21:32 BST+0100 I am aware the RX 480 comes out at the end of the month and the gtx 1070 comes out in a week and they would be my best bet but I would like to go by what is currently on the market.

Thank you.
-
Two sticks would run faster, but it will work with one.
-
Thanks for the suggestion for the RAM, I don't think I can afford it right now but it will be my first upgrade.
-
Thanks. I'll be interested to see the UK pricing.

Thanks. What about something such as http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Tc3RsY/seasonic-power-supply-ss620gm2

I am building my first PC. I will be using for gaming and would like to be able to easily upgrade it in the future. My budget is £620 at the moment, although it can be pushed a little if necessary. The CPU and GPU will be second hand from CeX.
-
Where is the best place in the UK to buy second-hand GPUs? Specifically, looking at R9 290/290X or GTX 970? Any things to be aware of when buying second hand GPUs?
-
Thanks. GTX 970 are about the same price as 290x but the 290 is cheaper so will probably go for a 290 and upgrade to 1070 or a Polaris equivalent when released.
-
Thank you guys for all the advice. I am considering trying to get a second hand GPU in which case, it appears that there are more GTX 970s. Is the 390 really worth it, if so what is the best place to look for a second hand one?
