  1. System backup and then dissimilar hardware restore is recommended. Have a look at Dissimilar Hardware Restore in AOMEI Backupper (free).
  2. Toys. At the beginning, the kid only read black and white. You can show colorful cards to him or her after three months old. You will feel happy and also exhausted but you know everything is worthy. Congrats.
  3. If it is not the problem of write protection tab, it may be damaged partition file system, or the attribute may be modified unwittingly. To see which is the key problem, you can do a complete formatting or set attributes disk clear readonly in Diskpart. For more detailed steps with screenshots, please refer to CHKDSK write protected. Kind regards.
  4. Get used to this operating system as well as the solid interface. Sometimes, Windows 10 brings insecurity sense to me. Maybe that is because its interface is too smooth.
  5. Cloning is the quickest one but it is more likely to encounter issues on a laptop. My suggestion is to backup everything on your old HDD to a safe place, USB drive or network shared (make sure you can access it later). Create a bootable USB drive (with Windows PE installed). If you have installation disc, it can be used as a bootable device as well. Then, replace old hard drive with new SSD on laptop. Boot from the bootable medium and do the restoring. It may be time-consuming comparing to disk cloning, yet with higher success rate.
  6. Find a feature-richer disk manager like AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard (free), you'll find that you can do more operations to meet your requirements.

    HELP

Disk Management can also do the same thing.
  8. I know a tool called AOMEI Backupper allows you to create WinPE bootable USB/CD/DVD. Its Standard version is free. It can also export ISO file. I am not sure if that is what you're looking for.
  9. Why don't you do a fresh install on the SSD? Here is the thing, you can try some cloning software to clone entire disk (or only OS drive) to new SSD. 1. connect the SSD to your machine via USB cable or disk enclosure. 2. Open one cloning software to follow the cloning wizard, configure cloning settings (mostly the configuration is simple because there are hints). 3. Replace old hard drive with new cloned SSD. 4. Boot from the cloned SSD. 5. Done. An extra thing is to format old hard drive after everything on SSD works fine, if you want to use it as a secondary storage.
  10. Just backup the disk and find a new replacement ASAP.
  11. How about choosing MBR? A disk that is bigger than 2TB should be initialized to GPT.
  12. No, no need to clone HDD if you plan to install Windows 10 on SSD. A clean install is always my first choice. However, you can give AOMEI Backupper a shot if you don't want to reinstall Windows and software.
