  1. I installed using the Media Download Tool supplied by Microsoft (I'm a win7-upgrader, however this is a fresh install after a full format). That stops windows key hotkeys from triggering, however it still doesn't allow me to use those keys in applications (for example, I can't type 'c' in google chrome. On top of that I also can't type 'a' in chrome either after this bug because it just does a 'select all'). This is a solution that is always suggested, and it has never worked on any machine for me, makes me jealous.
  2. I've recently had a very annoying problem that makes my computer basically unusable re-surface after the last windows update. At random periods windows will act as if the Windows Key and all modifiers are held down, I can get all but the widows key to release by accessing the lock-screen (I press delete and it opens it.. because ctrl+alt are already 'held' down...). I've had this problem before on other systems and everything I can find online is completely useless and I've never fixed it without a re-format (which isn't an option here). I use to think it was from heavy load (started playing Black Desert Recently) but I just had it happen upon just booting my PC and it being idle for no more than 15 minutes, keybard wasn't even turned on (wireless). This also effects the on-screen keyboard and any hotkey scripts I try to make to get around the issue, so it's definitely an OS issue somewhere, I just don't know where. The only shared software between this computer on others that have this issue is Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Chrome (uninstalling both did not fix the issue). Spec: Windows 10 (Creators Update) i7 6700k GTX 1070 (MSI, 1080p monitor) 2x 1T 7k rpm drives Logitech Wireless (K360) UTechSmart 8k 'gaming' mouse (or) Microsoft Brand wireless portable I've tried running without a keyboard, tried running without a mouse, tried verifying the OS (sfc or whatever), I tried disabling sleep and superfetch, I tried uninstalling Chrome + Adobe Creative Cloud, Disabling Anti-Virus (win10 starts up defender again shortly anyways tho... so it may be a the culprit?), and a ton of smaller things I can't really recall (since they didn't work..). I heard uninstalling Java could assist but I haven't gotten to that one yet. Sorry if the post seems rushed I'm leaving just now for work but really need to find a solution soon, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help.
  3. I've found this actually has nothing to do with downloading itself, but rather data is just corrupted in general. While things like YouTube will just re-download the missing packet things like online games or downloads just cuts me off as soon as a corrupted packet appears... Any ideas? EDIT : I fixed the issue by switching to a connection bridge instead, still don't know what exactly caused ics to cause corruption but whatever, at least this works for now.
  4. 3.4mb download, 3.2 Upload... pretty lame lol I believe NAT is different than ics - can't really find any settings for ics.
  5. EDIT : Problem actually wasn't downloads but rather data would randomly become corrupted through ics. I Solved the issue by switching to a manually configured connection bridge. I still get random disconnects but I attribute that to just poor wi-fi... END EDIT I'm temporarily staying somewhere I need to use Wi-Fi, but my desktop doesn't have a wireless network card (or a dongle) so instead of buying one since I'm short on cash I thought I'd just use my laptop with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) instead. It works alright for browsing and streaming content (such as YouTube) however I can't actually download or upload any files larger than a few hundred KB. Would anyone know any causes by chance? I've googled (and even tried bing >.>) around and nothing I find fixes the problem. To explain the issue, in order for me to get ics to even work in the first place I had to uninstall all network adapters and reboot them to default, using DHCP. Currently my Desktop shows the connection properly (as an ethernet connection) while the laptop shows an unidentified network (however with internet access). Downloads and uploads work as always on the laptop however on the desktop I can't even update my anti-virus because of a 'network error'. This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't need to update things through programs like Steam (since I create gaming content on YouTube I kinda need my games...). I'm able to stream content from sites like YouTube or Google Play Music perfectly fine however many sites (specifically ones that use flash) fail to load and flash players never load (YouTube's flash player at least, flash isn't really a big loss here lol). My download speeds according to testmy.net is fairly sporadic (varies from 3.4 to 5mb) but I doubt this would cause everything to just stop downloading/uploading... Laptop Hardware (Really old machine) Windows 10 - 64x (upgraded from 7) Intel Pentium (I think the final iteration - so duo) Wi-Fi is broadcom chipset Ethernet is using Realtek PCIe (Drivers manually updated) Desktop Hardware (Fairly old) Windows 10 - 64x (Fresh Installed) AMD FX 5200 Ethernet is using Realtek PCIe (Drivers manually updated) ICS set-up Laptop is using Wi-Fi to get internet access and is sharing that adapter to 'other computers'. I'm using an ethernet cable between my Laptop and PC to share the connection. Things I've tried (however I could have done some of these incorrectly, not 100% sure) Disabling / Un-installing anti-virus Disabling Firewalls Switching Ethernet Cables (hopefully I don't have 2 dead cables...) Setting static IPs (this seems to just break ics - I'm probably doing it wrong) Changing Wi-Fi source (Used my phone wi-fi instead - same results) Switching to 'bridged connections' (couldn't get internet access to work at all) Re-installing adaptors (had to do this to get ICS even working) Reseting Router / limiting devices on the network + a bunch of small things suggested over the internets Things I'm tempted to try Fresh installing Windows 10 (Haven't because I've needed my laptop running) Getting connection bridge to work (I really can't figure this out - and don't know if it'll actually fix anything) I'm here for another 2 weeks and can't afford to be out of downloads/uploads for that long. If I need to buy a wireless card/dongle just for this I will (future proofing isn't always a bad thing I guess) but I'd rather save the money since I really don't have spare dollars right now.
