Plus we can really never have too much storage as long as the price is right. With bluray and 4k it makes a tb seem smaller everyday!

Hi, I'm waiting for the 1070, but I want to line up the rest of my build now. I have a mastercase pro 5 for a new complete build. I want the best air cooling possible and from what I hear, Noctua is the best. The mastercase supports 3 120/140mm fans in the front, 2 120/140 at the top, 1 120/140 in the rear. Is it possible to have too many fans? I'm thinking I want 6 Noctua 140 fans. Do you all think it's a good idea? Should I configure them so the 3 front fans are intake and 2 top and 1 rear are exhaust? Any suggestions for different fans are welcome. Thanks! G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) TridentZ 16D or 14D?
hotwheels1675 replied to hotwheels1675's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I'm going to be running the 6700k. I've read that skylake only supports dual channel kits. Is that true? If so, is there a sufficient alternative to quad channel?- 7 replies

Hi, I'm looking at F4-3200C16D-16GTZ ( Timing 16-16-16-36 ) and F4-3200C14D-16GTZ ( Timing 14-14-14-34 ) Will the lower timing perform a lot better? (It's only $10 more.) Any ideas of different brands are welcome. This is my first complete build so I need all the input I can get. I'm just waiting for the 1070 to be available, then I will put it together. Hi, Is the price difference worth the amount of extra efficiency of the Titanium? Any ideas of different brands are welcome. This is my first complete build so I need all the input I can get. Hi, I'm thinking about getting G.SKILL for my new build (16GB (2 x 8GB) TridentZ Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz for Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZ) All 5 stars on amazon, Gigabyte tech claimed I would be overclocking the CPU with 3200MHz. Is that true? Can anyone recommend good RAM for me if not this? Thanks

Hey Everybody, I am selecting the hardware for my first ever complete build. I have two 3tb wd black drives & I still like my G510 keyboard so that is staying. I'm picking everything else from scratch. This is overwhelming so I need some help from people's experience. I would like to stay under 1200 but I think 1500 max is still doable. I want it to perform great for anything I might need. I want great performance in high end applications like Adobe. I'm not big into gaming but I want it handle the most demanding games fairly well if I feel like it. I want it to keep up for a long time into the future. Here's a list of what I'm thinking for my new rig: I haven't picked a case cause there's SO many. I'm only doing 1 video card so I think I wanna stay in the mid tower range unless someone has had a great experience with a full tower and thinks I could use the room for my components. The wow factor is secondary, I want plenty of room for parts, air flow, cable management & lots of usb 3.1 (front ports are perfered over back.) I'd love one with removable dust filters, but it's not an absolute must. I need a mouse with a free flowing scroll wheel / snap scroll toggle option Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel Z170 ATX DDR4 Motherboard GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151 BX80662I76700K EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SSC Gaming ACX 2.0+ Cooling Graphics Card (04G-P4-3975-KR) or Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming GDDR5 Pcie Video Graphics Card, 4GB (which card is best?) G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) TridentZ Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz for Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZ (All 5 stars on amazon, Gigabyte tech claimed I would be overclocking the CPU with 3200MHz) Is that true? Samsung 850 EVO (still deciding 1 TB or 500) EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 80+ GOLD, 750W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready Power Supply 220-G2-0750-XR Arctic Silver 5 AS5-3.5G Thermal Paste (are some kinds of thermal paste better than others?) I need help with cooling. I think cooling is of the utmost importance, so I wouldn't mind going for more than I need. Is air or liquid better? I've heard about leaks and failures with liquid that are not worth the risk. Any info on cooling and air flow would be great! I want an excellent backup batttery / surge protection. Any help there would be awesome. What do you think of this build? Am I missing anything? Are there going to be any compatibility issues? Any thoughts good, bad or indefferent are appreciated. Thanks I'm so excited!
