  1. I looked up the light codes, and based on the pattern there is a system board or chipset error.
  2. Alright, so I took out some components and dried them off individually, cleaned the part that was under them, and put them back in place. So far, there are two lights that come on, one is the power button, and the other is some light that is in the front speaker grill. The one that is in the speaker grill blinks white twice and orange a few times, then repeats. I am not sure if that is some error code, but it keeps doing it. The power button is still unresponsive, but still lights up on its own every so often.
  3. I suppose I will take it apart then. What is weird also is the fact that the power button led still is lighting up, but not when I click it. It turns on and off periodically acting like the laptop is in sleep mode or something.
  4. So about 30 minutes ago I spilled a glass of lemonade on my laptop. I attempted to turn it off immediately, but the computer went through with a windows update while I wiped a ton of my drink off the keyboard. It rebooted after the update, and when it restarted, the mouse pad was acting funky, which I expected because it wasn't perfectly dry yet. When I tried to press the power button, it wasn't responding. Everything else seemed to work fine. I managed to turn it off via the software, then I opened the back panel and saw that there was tiny bits of liquid inside, but nothing that would have shorted any of the important components. Currently the laptop is opened fully and upside down, laying on a towel. My question is: Is there anything else I can do? Is it possible that the power button will start working again? Because right now I can't get it powered on.
  5. Yep haha. I ran the benchmark again and it was nearly identical. Not sure why it caused that big of a hit to performance even with their battery optimization feature disabled though. Either way, thank you for taking the time to help!
  6. Funny, I saw a topic that said that geforce experience may cap fps. The battery boost setting was causing problems for people, so I disabled it, but nothing changed. But I wanted to test everything without geforce experience. After uninstalling it, my fps in Doom is 50-60 ultra. Neat.

  8. Alright, ill give it a try. But before I do that, I wanted to also mention that I just re-opened it and no matter what setting I did, ultra at 1080p, all the way to 720p low the fps stayed at 25-30 fps. It is acting like the fps is capped, which is a bit strange. Anyways, ill go ahead and get the benchmark.
  9. So today I got my first laptop. After installing all my drivers, I wanted to test out some games like doom, but my frames are pretty bad. I lowered my settings to low and turned my res scale down, but that didn't help. I turned the battery mode to performance, went into nvidia control panel and made the preferred graphics processor the 1050ti. I launched the game again and it still was sitting around 20 fps. I am assuming the laptop isn't switching from the integrated graphics, but am not completely sure. Help please. Specs: i7 7700hq GTX 1050ti 16gb ram
  10. Thanks guys, I went with the Inspiron. It has the same specs as the one from best buy, except it has an IPS display.
  11. My main reason for liking the MSI is because of the better performance of the 1060, but the 128gb SSD, better battery life, and slightly better i7 make me want the Dell. Do you think that the 1060 3gb version is that much better than the 1050ti in most games to sacrifice not having the SSD and better battery?
  12. So, i'm looking to get a gaming laptop that will run most games on medium to high at 1080p 50-60 fps. I have found two laptops that I can't really decide between. Any advice? 13. I'm going to see how long it takes for the annoying watermark to come back, because since I restarted it hasn't come up yet. But I'm not too excited about going right back to windows 7 just to come back to 10. But the key should still be valid for win7 right? I didn't know if it was a key that is useless once it's been used once. And is all my files going to be wiped going to windows 7?
  14. I have entered my product code many times making sure every character is correct and it doesn't work. All it says is "The product key you entered didn't work. Check again and try again, or enter a different one. Error code: 0xc004f050" No phone option.
