  1. Yeah agreed, take the Skylake road, its more future proof. Also, I'd take a R9 390X cause it performs better than the Nvidia in DX12 scenarios. But that's a totally personal choice.
  2. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Pnn2K8 My take on the perfect rig for your needs. Choose a case and monitor to your preference. Edit: case updated with support for front usb3 access
  3. or you could go lower to a R7 250 which doesn't need external power
  4. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r7250xcgf4 I think this is as good as it gets for the price The R7 250X
  5. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r7360p2255 Great for casual eSport games
  6. In that case you should really look at AMD's R7 line up of GPUs. Give us a budget and we'll dig up something good for ya
  7. Even a GTX950 will be withheld by the Core 2 Duo?
  8. The i5 should do just fine, in my opinion. Get the 4690K, a decent cooler and overclock the cpu a little. And get a better motherboard while you're at it. Since a H81 with an unlocked cpu is a big no no, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TKn2bv
  9. Since everyone's sharing, I'll go too. The only modern computer i have had is my laptop that i got 3 days ago, before that, i had an Athlon 3000+ with 1gb ram and a 8400GS. Tough times
  10. And what do you think of in the case of a single user who intends to use it for everything- games, encoding, rendering etc
  11. I know that hardly any games utilize more than 4 cores. Pls forget gaming, i'm talking about raw performance of a computer as a whole
  12. Not a Nano Something like dual Titan Xs or anything. Just not 7 hungry cards. And forget gaming, I'm talking about raw power as a whole.
  13. I mean the above setup exactly as it is, ie the dual Xeon cpus and everything. Just without the 7 gfx cards.
  14. I meant as a single user, not 7 VMs. Remove the 7 Gpus, just a single is fine. Now.
  15. I'm pretty sure many of us here are aware of the 7gamers 1 cpu rig linus had built. Those who aren't, here- Now my question to you all is- How relevant will this rig be? How many years would it last (not physically) but performance-wise? Forget the 7 R9 Nanos. Suppose you kept upgrading the rig periodically with the latest graphics. Without changing anything else. I wanna know your thoughts. I mean to ask, how long will this beast's raw CPU power be relevant with all its glory, according to you.
  16. A major point to consider: Get a 6th gen i5 instead of the devil's canyon i7 and use that money to invest in a better gfx card than the GTX 960 For eg check this out-http://pcpartpicker.com/guide/sdgXsY/more-than-enough-skylake-gaming-build
  17. I was 7 in 2005. I was hyped for getting my Nintendo DS
  18. How about this. They both get a FX8350 and try to break the world record of the highest OC. Atleast they try. On a budget. Or any other cpu idk. The higher clocker wins. A test of each of their's skillz.
  19. Since i'm considered invalid for this, I'd like to congratulate the lucky racer who gets the card
  20. What will you use it for? Gaming-server-rendering?
  21. or what you could do, is go to websites like xoticpc and ibuypower and configure your own laptop. Eg- http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-cx62-6qd-047us.html The base configuration has everything you need except the SSD, which you can add while customizing the laptop. Why this? Cause better bang for the buck.
