  1. I'm pretty sure you have 4GB Soldered. If you're not worried about voiding your warranty, you can remove back panel and you should have a single open dim slot for 1 DDR4 module. In terms 'upgradeability' you can go 8GB or 12GB.
  2. How about a small 4 port POE switch to some APs around the apartment? I'm not sure the freedom he would have to run Cat5e/6. Nor how much he's willing to spend.
  3. I'm using the Dell S2719DGF, and I have some issues with it. Gsync Flickering USB port off the side(This is a personal Gripe) Colors are poor Also has a feature that you will want to turn off, some deep sleep feature rendering waking up a pain.
  4. Thanks for the mention! Consider a firewall/DMZ from Sonicwall/Fortinet/Sophos. Who thought of separate subnets? That's not even plausible. a simple /24 within the DMZ, with the static IP set for the PCs. Stack-able switches may be overkill, since redundancy wouldn't be key here(Not really a 100% up time REQ. situation). But would be a fun setup. I'd personally ditch Netgear/TP Link hardware altogether. Matching vendors will also keep your engi happy as swapping syntax get's annoying. The only time you'd come close to maxing out @Scotter97 teamed 40G would be larger updates/downloads at simultaneous moments. (unlikely still). The Suggestion for the 3850 over the 9300 is cost. 9300 was launched after and many companies are ditching their 'old' catalysts for newer and getting your hands on them cheap require no partnerships, no vendor agents or nor ccna/partner certs.
  5. Network is the back bone of this entire thing. Run with Cisco WS-C3850-24XU-L(Or Similar from Ruckus/HPE/etc.)10G to PC, with 40G SFP+ Up. Use both Fiber and Copper. Mount your stations above, create an exhaust channel. On the roof, you have those large area fans you could use to pull air out from said channel, with some duct work (and Advertising livery). Or for Ventilation, partner with those that create the spinning fan displays(depending on the sound they generate). If you're goal is a better experience for everyone. Run a blind test between two Panels. Yet, I'd run a set of both(Competitors). Skip the CRT. Showcase the the BFGD from Nvidia. with an HTPC. On each side of which run with Sony/Samsung/LG 65" powered by an Emulator/PS4/XB1. Last, Design a black hex grid floor with Orange(or RGB) LED gaps. I'd say wall off the entire area. Spend some time sound proofing and diminishing echos. Peripherals go Razer so you can pair with Hue lights. Of course then you'll want Sonos + Alexa in corners for background music. My initial thoughts, good luck.
