  1. Hey everyone, So I was wondering if there were any Fusion 8 users out there? I just started using the program last week and I really enjoy it for mograph creation for my YT channel. Theres only 1 issue though, I cant get it to run without crashing on startup on my desktop. It runs perfectly fine on my laptop, Ill list the specs of both PC's down below. I have a feeling that it has to do with my GPU in my desktop. Id rather not try switching to my integrated graphics to test and see if that is the issue. So if anyone has a 10 series GPU and runs Fusion 8.1 or newer, please let me know how you do it. Thanks for any help in advance! Desktop CPU: i5 6500 MOBO: Asus Maximus Hero VIII (running BIOS from 12/2015 for OC on CPU, but I doubt this would be the issue) GPU: Asus ROG Strix 1070 OC (With latest driver 375.50, also tried on previous driver version with no luck) RAM: 4x4gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666mHz (OC'd to something like 2800) OS: Windows 7 SP1 Pro I dont think anything else would be relevant to my issue but Ill list all the specs just for completeness... Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 PSU: Corsair RM650x Laptop HP Elitebook 8560w (Yea its old AF and its been through hell) CPU: i5 2520M GPU: AMD FirePro M5950 RAM: 2x8gb Kingston DDR3 1666mhz OS: Windows 7 SP1 Pro Link here for anything else you need on the laptop specs http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02843455
  2. Actually somehow got it to work this afternoon. I don't know exactly what did it but this is a rough outline of what I did. If people are experiencing the same as I did and need a more detailed walkthrough, Ill do my best to retrace my steps and give you a better answer. First I went into "InstallShield" driver files in C:\Windows\SysWOW64. Get to the folder that is labelled either "7", "8", or "9" (I believe it should be 9, because that is the latest version). Then I changed the permissions on all the files in that folder to be full control for every user on the system. After that I went into cmd prompt and ran regsvr32 on all of the .dll, IDriver, and IDriver2 files in that driver folder that I had just changed the permissions on. All of the regsvr commands that I ran came back with an error message saying the file could not be found. I just tried to install GPU Tweak II again after that and it worked. So I have no idea if it was either the regsvrs I ran or just changing the permissions that made it work. All I know is that it is not an issue with GPU Tweak, its an issue with InstallShield. So if anyone else has a similar issue, I'd recommend checking InstallShield's forums first.
  3. Hey everyone, So ever since I got my Asus Strix 1070 OC and tried to install GPU Tweak II, I haven't been able to get it to install properly. I've tried all the fixes on google such as using windows fix it tool and gpu tweak removal. But none of these methods work. Every time I go to install I get the same InstallShield Error (see SS: https://gyazo.com/3ce268583be029b515601ad9056b6332 ) If anyone has a fix for this I would love to hear it! Thanks in advance!
  4. If youre not afraid to use an old bios and Windows 7, id just go for any non k sku skylake you can afford. I have an i5 6500 @ 4.4gHz and 1.28v. It performs remarkably well for $185. You dont need a K sku chip to OC skylake. Watch and read some guides and it should all work out fine. If you want to use Windows 10 though, youll need a K sku to OC.
  5. Hey everyone! TL:DR Will the "ROG_EXT" header on my Maximus Hero VIII work as an additional USB 2.0 header? So I have an Asus Maximus Hero VIII and I just recently purchased a Corsair H100i v2 and the NZXT Hue+. Before placing these orders I failed to check compatibility. My motherboard has 2x USB 3.0 headers and 1x USB 2.0 header. Both the H100i and the Hue+ require a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard. Now you see the issue, I'm short 1 USB 2.0 header. Asus says that the "ROG_EXT" headers on the board will act as USB 2.0 headers. By careful examination I can see that one of these ROG_Ext headers does indeed have 10 pins (technically 9 pins with the bottom right missing) in the same configuration of a normal USB 2.0 header, but the other header only has 8 pins. Now as long as the one ROG_EXT port acts as a USB 2.0 header I will be ok. I just wanted to confirm that this will indeed work for the NZXT Hue+ or the Corsair H100i v2. So if anyone else has been in a similar situation as myself, I'd really appreciate the peace of mind of knowing this header will work. I've looked into USB 2.0 header splitters, but I do not believe these will work for this situation since I will have 2 completely different devices in 1 header and the motherboard wont be able to recognize both simultaneously. Link for motherboard info: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/specifications/ Link for SS of ROG_EXT header: https://gyazo.com/4ccbec6f4f192b274c573b1e5568d9b9 EDIT: USB 2.0 headers are actually 9 pins, the ROG_EXT header is also 9 pins, not 10 pins like I said above.
  6. That looks like a valid option too! Thank you so much! Yea, I know theyre for specific cases but I can probably drill a couple more holes in them to mount to the bottom of my case. I appreciate all your help dude!
  7. Yea, I am decent with metal work. If you come across any templates or anything of the like id love to see them!
  8. OOO, that does look less bulky than that silverstone one I found on amazon. Ill take some measurements and see if thatll fit! Thank you! And I agree, spent nearly an hour searching the web only to keep finding those damn adapters. In all honesty, if I cant find a simple enough solution I can purchase, Ill just make one myself. Shouldn't be too difficult with a little bit of sheet metal and a bender.
  9. Does anyone know where I could buy just a plain 3.5" HDD mounting bracket. Not the adapter for a 3.5" to 2.5" or anything else in between. Just a plain jane bracket, nothing fancy. All I can find on newegg, amazon, and google are those stupid adapters. I want to remove the HDD cage from my case but I still need to mount my HDD to something. So I figured a simple bracket with a standard 3.5" HDD hole pattern would easily work to mount to the bottom of my case. I only have 1 HDD so a single HDD bracket is preferred. This is the only product I've been able to find so far that even has a possibility of working https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-CFP53B-Drive-Suspension-Mounting/dp/B0034XRDV4/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1472811130&sr=1-8&keywords=3.5"+hdd+cageAny help is greatly appreciated!
  10. I currently use a Logitech G710+ keyboard with a Logitech G502 Proteus Core mouse on a 36"x12" Pecham mousepad.
  11. So I sorta found a solution/work around. I went back to the bios, disabled q fan control, saved/reset, went back to the bios and the cpu fan speed reported at 2800rpm. So it looks like I have two options now, 1000rpm or 2800rpm. Maybe thats the only levels on the cpu cooler fan? idk? but i already ordered a noctua a9 pwm so maybe that will give me more options when i enable q fan control. Noctua says it has 3 speed settings so it should be a valid test.
  12. ok thank you for the info!
  13. But what's the point of the Q-Fan control option in the Bios in the first place lol?
  14. This video is actually a very close version to mine. But when I click "enable" for q-fan control, those other options dont drop down below it. And the only option on the actual speed of the fan is "monitor" or "ignore". Is it a Bios bug?
  15. No mine doesnt look like that, mine is the UEFI Bios version 5202. I can take pictures for you if youd like?
