  1. Did exactly what was discussed all working now. Thank you.
  2. Can I immerse the whole motherboard in the isopropyl alcohol? Will that react to any of the metals or heat sink (not sure what material that is, doesnt seem to be metal). Any precautions that I need to take?
  3. All the parts are completely dry. But like I said there are red residues on the motherboard where the coolant split. Does all the residue needs to be cleaned off with Isopropyl alcohol?
  4. My system specs are ASUS Formula VI - watercooled 4770k - watercooled with koolance block R9 290 - watercooled with EK block Coolermaster Silent Pro M2 PSU Ripjaws X Series RAM Define R4 So what happened was while moving my computer one of the acrylic tube snapped and all the coolant XSPC EC6 red coolant has leaked all over the motherboard and GPU (did not have a backplate). There are red stains on a few places on the motherboard and the GPU. The good thing is the computer has not been turned on since the leak. The coolant seems to have dried out leaving a red residue behind. Now, how can I restore my PC to working condition? I have started by trying to wipe off the red coolant residue on the motherboard using tissue/earbuds dipped in 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. Do I have to remove 100% of the stains before I test the working condition of my parts? What are my options. Any advice would be really appreciated.
  5. I can say from personal experience, I would rethink the R4, although it is a nice case. You are going to need at least two 240mm & 45mm thick radiator. And you cannot fit a 45mm radiator on the top with the Formula VI because of the Crosschill waterblock. Well you could but you would need to do some serious modifications to the case. Fitting any radiator bigger than a 240mm will require a lot of modification.
  6. Thank you everyone. I have bought extension cables, this solves the problem.
  7. I have completed setting up my system with a water cooling loop. I want to test just the loop for leaks without having the other components running. I am using a ASUS Formula VI motherboard and CoolerMaster Pro M2 PSU. I know I can connect the pump to the molex connector and then bridge the green and black wires on the 24 pin connector to the motherboard. I was wondering is it ok to connect the 8pin + 4pin ATX connectors as well (see picture). It is really hard to connect the ATX connectors after doing leak test because of the top rads. Will connecting these do harm to the motherboard or any other components?
  8. I will be doing a build on my Define R4 next Sunday (12/17/13). I will be putting in a Alphacool ST30 240mm rad on the top in a push config with Corsair SP120 fans. I will let you know how well they fit and the clearance. Considering your RAM is high profile and might get really tight. You can see more of the discussion here.
  9. I am going to try connect the fans directly to the MB, because I have heard really good things about ASUS's Fan Xpert tool. I don't know if the fans come with long enough wires for me to reach all the fan headers. It just occured to me that the waterblock for the GPU does not come with a backplate. Do I need a backplate or is it fine to run a wc loop without a backplate.
  10. I really hope the rads fit in the case without any modifications. I definitely will update here with how it does. I think for now I am going to go ahead and buy the SP120's as I can still use them for the front rads. I will just buy less of them. Are you using the R4's fancontroller? Have you used them before?
  11. I was trying to avoid drilling those extra holes. I just found someone who is using XSPC EX240 on the top. Check this . That Rad is 35.5mm thick. Which is 5.5mm more than than the Alphacool ST30. I am really hoping that there is just enough clearance. I have not bought the fans yet. Is there any suggestions for fans that are low profile and does a decent job to cool radiators? BTW you've got a very nice build coming along.
  12. Could you give us performance numbers in games? fps in BF4 and the resolution please.
  13. While we wait for number from imatt, you can find numbers here.
  14. I have a few questions for you. Which Rad and Fans are you using on the top? From what you are saying, I am going to have the same problem rite? The Formula VI has a plastic molding as well and the Ripjaws X series are of a similar height to the Dominator. Could you share a picture of your rig so I can see what adjustments you made. Finally do you have more information on the revision made to the top mounting holes, was this made to the case to move the mounting away from the motherboard side. The reason I ask these questions is because my case and some components don't arrive for another week or so, therefore in the mean time I can get prepared with the tools that I might need for any modifications. Thank you for all the information so far ExconHD and d33g33.
