  1. So I'm wondering if I can get good frames playing on 1440p using my RTX 2060 115W laptop. Of course I'll be using an external monitor which means I will bypass optimus which improves my fps and also using dual channel RAM. Everything else will also be optimized to the best performance mode. Can I expect 60+ fps in single player games like RDD2, RE2, RE3, Witcher, TombRaider, FarCry, AssassinsCreed and 90+ in FPS games such as PUBG, Warzone, Apex (all with competitive settings tho). I know it'll handle CSGO and Dota with no problems
  2. people have been saying dual channel affects more in cpu bounded games. sad
  3. just wanna test my systems, i also ran it with 4x 2x and off but still around 130-150 fps in deathmatch dust II so 8x msaa is not the problem...
  4. but i saw single vs dual channel ram comparison on youtube and the difference is around 20 fps... and btw those youtube videos i attached also uses 8x msaa so i should also get higher fps even with 8x msaa.
  5. I have an ROG Strix Scar 15 2020 laptop with the following specs: 240hz 3ms screen 8 core i7-10875h RTX 2060 115W 16gb ram (single channel) 1TB SSD My Windows settings are as optimized as possible already. Game mode is on. All my graphics drivers are updated to the latest. My Power/battery settings are also set to full performance. Nvidia control panel also set to high performance. Nvidia low latency: Ultra When I run a CSGO benchmark using Ulletical benchmark workshop map on all Maxed Settings which is as follows: Everything High/VeryHigh Multicore rendering: on FXAA: off Uber shaders: on Vsync, Motionblur and such: off MSAA: 8x Anistrophic: 16x Texture Streaming: Enabled The Results of the benchmarks is 159 average framerate..... On Deathmatch (Dust II) with the same settings also averaging 120-150 and sometimes higher in tunnels. Both of these results are sooooo absurd. I mean wtff look at these youtube videos of the laptops with the same rtx 2060 and slightly worse cpu The first video even only has an i5 and 8 ram(probably dual channel but still, very huge ddifferences) The second video is averaging 230+ fps on deathamtch Dust II. WTFFFFFF. What the hell is wrong with my CSGO. Yes I know I only have a single channel 16gb RAM, but does it really have this huge of an impact? i dont think so... By the way, i also have others games tested, here are the average fps on all maxed settings: Apex Legends: 100-120 fps COD Warzone: 80-100 fps PUBG : 90-120 fps Now the results from these games seems normal right? as an rtx 2060 115w should perform, even i saw some youtube videos with slightly higher average maybe only 10 fps, i mean.... that can be fixed when i have dual channel easily. So its definitely only my csgo which is absurd, can someone please tell me why?? I also disabled fullscreen optimizations on all my games, as well as turning off override high dpi scaling behaviour performed by: applications even i dont really know how big of an impact it gives but just doing it like every other people, so i also would really appreciate it someone can explain me what this does and how much does it affect performance thankyou :))))
  6. no, no stutters, i just cant see enemies clearly, especially when in warzone and apex where enemies are jumping up and down when we are shooting each other.
  7. so i have a asus rog scar 15 laptop with 240hz and rtx 2060. playing apex legends and warzone, and typically other games that is fast paced feels "not as smooth" when im getting around 90-120 fps. only if i get really high frames like csgo then i would feel thats it is smooth. and games like pubg which is not as fast paced like warzone also feels smooth even with 100 fps avg too. ive configured and optimized my windows/ laptop settings to the best possible settings and yes my screen also set to 240hz and vsync and such is off.
  8. it doesnt work, i tried all drivers. I think the problem is my laptop detecting the touchpad, because it doesnt detect it so my drivers dont know what to do
  9. 1660ti for me is the gpu to go in a gaming laptop instead of 1060 1070 and 20... series
  10. though i forgot to mention the sleek design for school means the nitro 7 is the best for you and the helios 300 is the worst do check out the nitro 7 now, i think you'd rlly like it
  11. with that budget a nitro 5 or nitro 7 with the 1660ti will give you all you ever want. for me at least the helios 300 might be an option too all the laptops i mentioned above has (144hz, 1660ti, good screen, good cooling)
  12. I have a Lenovo Y50, its really old and keyboard is dirty so weeks ago i ordered a new upper body/case for it which is the palm-rest area with the keyboard and touch-pad which is built in. yesterday the product arrived and i tear my laptop apart and assembled it again on the new body. everything seems to be working such as back-lit, keyboard keys, touch-pad, light indicators. The only problem is the way the touch-pad works. first, the touch-pad on the new body doesn't have gestures, i cant even right click by using two finger click at the same time, i need to press the right side of the touch-pad to right click, and it can only do left/right click and scroll. Secondly , its really slow (as in the dpi is very low) so it requires many slides just to move the cursor from left to right of the screen. So i thought the touch-pad driver doesn't match or something so i thought if i uninstall the current one and scan for hardware changes on device manager then windows will automatically download new drivers for my touch-pad. After i did that the touch-pad is missing from my device manager and i literally cannot use my track-pad at all. its like windows doesn't know i have a touch-pad. and now i cant get it back. there is only HID-compliant mouse in my device manager. Help please.
  13. does turning off nvidia optimus increases fps? i saw a video by jarrod's tech comparing optimus on/off and it can have a 20fps difference on games like watchdogs 2 :/
  14. thanks for your help mate. I just really dont wanna let go of this laptop yet, its still flawless since i got it and i really took good care. i even upgraded to ssd,16gb ram, and 120hz ips panel w/ bright accurate colors
  15. im just trying to buy the motherboard and put it in my current laptop. ok good to know, this means my windows will still be there right?
  16. So my laptop is the lenovo y50-70 and i have the i7 4710hq with 860m 4gb model but lenovo also have the same model with i7 4720hq and 960m 4gb model so i saw lots of this motherboards sold seperately in online shops and i decided to upgrade mine so i can get extra gaming fps with the 960m would this be possible and will i lose any of my old files, settings, etc. ?? btw the size of the motherboard is exactly same
  17. its actually bcause i didnt plug in my charger while testing it lol my bad
  18. Hi fellow tech guys, so i have a i7 4710hq cpu on my laptop and i undervolt it only 50mV which is the ideal limit for this cpu. So far gaming from light to hardcore has been fine with no drops and temp is only 85°C at worse case which is still good. Thermal paste is arctic mx4 i just reapplied it. But yesterday i decided to run a 30minute stress test for no reason just cause im bored and the temps are constant only 55-71°C but why is it throttling ? I noticed the throttle occurs only when maxcore frequency is high enough above 2GHz then it will drop and repeat for 30mins. Looking at the graph I uploaded will be clearer than me explaining. See the orange line graph goes up and down constantly. When the throttle occurs, the orange graph drops then it repeats. My temps are never above 75°C. So is this a problem?
  19. ok man its sad bruh. thanks for your help
  20. AUO B156HTN03.6 FHD AG S LED1 NB LCD (this is my panel) really? ive seen linus change laptop panel with a higher refresh once and it worked even the laptop doesnt hv that version
  21. So I have a Lenovo y50-70 laptop which comes with a 15.6 inch 60hz TN panel which has a 30pin connector... and I would like an upgrade to a either 120hz or 144hz screen with bright and nice colors if possible (doesnt matter TN or IPS) .. The problem is I do not know how to determine which screen will fit my laptop. Does all 15 inch 30 pin screen fit my laptop or is there other factors? I would appreciate if anyone sends a link of a lcd that can fit my laptop.
