  1. Boot speed is faster with the SSD on both Windows 10 and 8.1, right now we think that the motherboard is at fault
  2. The only reason I think this won't work is that 8.1 worked perfectly fine, and 10 would freeze when installed on the SSD and also the HDD
  3. We've completely wiped it once and reset BIOS. Still nothing
  4. We checked temps when it freezes and they were normal
  5. Hi, I'm working on my sister's computer right now. Specs are i7-4790k, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970, Corsair R750i, Crucial 480 GB BX200 SSD, Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo, Crucial Ballistix 8GBx2 DDR3 Ram, Seagate 2TB HDD, originally running Windows 10 pro 64 bit. Computer is a little over 2 years old, originally built in December of 2015. Starting last November, it would randomly freeze up, no mouse movement, no clock movement, completely frozen. We have gone through and updated all drivers and BIOS, as well as check all connection inside the PC. When attempting to get into the BIOS, it again will freeze. We went back to 8.1 84 bit and had no issues. However, my sister has some software she needs that she only has windows 10 keys for. Just looking for any possibilities for what could actually be wrong. Thanks!
  6. I think this download has given me AIDS it is taking so long, close to 5 hours :'(
  7. You dont really have the budget to make a KB&M upgrade worth it, put SSD's are very much worth it
  8. You may not need an optical drive, but if you need it you need it. But def get a 4970k not 4770k and you may not need a wifi board but it can come in handy. With the maya stuff you are doind 16 gb of RAM (I never say this) would most likely come in handy. Some tips, make sure you make sure it POSTs outside the case and just watch build guides and follow one while working. Also make sure you ground yourself occasionally if you arent using a wrist strap (which I recommend)
  9. CM Storm has good keyboards for not too expensive
  10. Similar topic, since when couldnt you like your own post. Im pretty freaking awesome and i show that to myself. Its been a while since I have been on the forums
  11. Having those rigs in the comfort, warmth, and accessibility to my fridge of my own home
  12. YOU HAVE WORKED SO FUCKING HARD ALL SEMESTER OR WHATEVER, GET YOUR SHIT DONE AND ACE THIS BITCH
  13. You can find some pretty sturdy cables that will protect itself from the rain/wind/snow (if applicable) but I would cover it as well
  14. I am trying to think of a creative way to use the platters, magnets, and/or the bearing/motor thing. I am having a mental block and can't think of anything. If you guys have any ideas I would love to hear them.

  16. I think AMD is pushing towards dual graphics and they are realizing that Intel has dominated the higher budget end of CPUs. They are trying people to use Dual Graphics as it is the cheapest solution to get good graphics, and it requires people to use AMD in two aspects of their computer. But I do believe they are going to make a new socket to put themselves in the mid range market and try to compete with intel. They truly have no shot once you get to probably $250-$300 thats when Intel steals the show.
  17. My side panel screw is literally preventing my side panel from flying off
  18. Prodigy M is hell to build in. 0/8 would recommend
  19. I would say SSD, get like a 250 GB and use the rest to get yourself some games
  20. Solid build, dunno about the headset, "gaming" headsets normally aren't great and you would be better with a decent pair of headphones and a separate mic
  21. if you lower some of the settings you should be fine, I drove the new COD at 45 fps at 4k maxed settings with 780ti
  22. Yeah, a SSD makes a huge difference, and does he really need the optical drive?
