  1. I thought leaving it to auto was safe . I never tried to setting to manual. I'll probably try 4.3Ghz at 1.33.
  2. I see. So clearing the CMOS does reset the oc settings. After setting the cpu clock to 4.2Ghz and core voltage to auto, then it is safe to just Save and Exit? It will restart the PC.
  3. Corsair RM850x 850 watt psu gold certified. You can also check my full PC specs here bit.ly/earvinpiamonte_pc_desk_setup
  4. Additional info: Operating System: Windows 10 64 bit & Ubuntu Gnome Linux (Dual boot) PC Case/ Cooler: Deepcool Genome II (360mm radiator)
  5. I built a computer last October. PC full specs here bit.ly/earvinpiamonte_pc_desk_setup. On the span of how many months from last October to December 2016, my (2) Intel Core i7 6800k died. The motherboard which is ASUS X99-A II returned "00" Q-Code which means that the CPU is not used. For a week it will be stable after overclocking it to 4.2Ghz, then after a few days, system will always crash then will return "00" code again. I run benchmarks like 3dmark - Firestrike 1.1 and everything was stable after a few days. I don't know why my CPUs die. Some people say that the motherboard is bad. Recently, JayzTwoCents uploaded a video on how he blew up a CPU. Here's what he should have done as he said.
  6. What's up guys. I'm planning to buy a motherboard soon with Intel i7 6700k processor. Any suggestions which should I buy? ASUS Z170-A or ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO ALPHA You comments is much appreciated!
  7. Thanks for the tip! I will do a lot of reading then on the recommendations on this page. Cool.
  8. I am more on the software side as I am a developer. But I do not know ANYTHING about the hardwares. LOL.
  9. I see. I think I will be building a gaming PC! Nice! Cool. Thanks for your recommendation. Hmm. Is that your broadband speed? Nooooo.
  10. Thanks for sharing. I will be using it for work (web development) and on my spare time, I will be using it in gaming. I prefer fast, good graphics and silent one. The thing is, I am using Linux OS so I think I can only play a few games compatible to Linux. Thanks for your reply. I will look at pcpartpicker. Thank you Cool. Sounds good though. I will check those components. Seems hardcore. haha. Oh. I see. I think GPU is a thing though. Let me check that.
  11. Hi there. I would like to build my own PC but not sure where to start as I do not know anything yet about processors and CPUs. I'm afraid that I might bought components that are not compatible to each other. I would like to build a gaming PC with a budget of $1,000 max. Any build recommendations? Preferably i7 processor, 16gb RAM and at least silent. ASUS motherboard is great option as well. Let me know what you have guys. All recommendations are appreciated. Thanks! Cheers.
